About Lunya Manchester
We want Lunya to be a place where anyone who loves good food and drink feels as though they belong. We want people to feel as comfortable when they are eating or drinking here as they would do at home. Like all great restaurants in Spain, we want to be a place where you can come dressed up or casual, however you want. Whether you are a binman, politician, pensioner, mums with babies, stockbroker, everyone belongs and people come here because we are all about the food and drink and a great social environment.
Very nice lunch and all the better on their offer of 50 % off. Good authentic food in a good atmosphere with pleasant staff.
We came on a voucher from Itison, the food we had was very nice but to be told we were not allowed to order any more food from the lunch menu was ridiculous considering there was hardly anyone in the establishment.
Had a fabulous lunch with friends, food was superb and service faultless. Would definitely recommend.
Ditch the plastic straws.
The only criticism we would have is that we would prefer our food to be served hotter a lot if it was luke warm.
The food was delicious and the staff were very friendly. A few items on the menu seemed overpriced and the same isn’t the deli-£12 for fresh anchovies! We filled in our comments card and handed it in, but didn’t receive a surprise like it states on the card. Overall we had a lovely meal and will be back.
Had probably the best tapas we've ever had. Atmosphere lovely but not too noisy and the place still managed to feel cosy. A big bit all round!
About two thirds of the food was great. the other third not good. The waiting on staff were very good.
We ate here on a Wednesday lunch time so it was pretty much empty, though it still took the waiter an extraordinarily long time to even ask if we'd like a drink. We had 7 dishes between 2 of us. Everything tasted good, and was nicely presented but there seemed to be a lot of potato and very little protein, not an issue if you're only paying a couple of pounds a plate but definitely not ok at the prices charged. The patas bravas were nearly £6 and frankly poor. the wild mushroom with ham and asparagus was delicious, the aubergine was tasty - though one piece was weirdly under cooked, the chorizo hot pot tasted great but consisted mostly of potato with 3 small pieces of chorizo in the whole dish. Don't bother with desert. We had a voucher and so the end bill was very reasonably but if we'd been paying full price I would have been very miffed, Access and toilets are also a big issue so if you have a pushchair or mobility issues then you will struggle,
hi first visit - staff and food were both brilliant and beatriz helped us out with a complication on phone - will certainly recommend and 'tripadvise' well. again, very nice, fresh and tasteful tapas
A top class meal in a top class establishment! Have been visiting Lunya every once in a while for a few years now and it's consistently excellent, welcoming and a lovely place to spend a few hours.
Unfortunately we saw numerous tables come in & get their food before us. After 45 minutes waiting I asked where our meal was (tasting banquet). 5 minutes later our olives came out. After asking if there had been a problem, I was told the waitress hadn’t put it through. We were halfway through our jug of sangria and ordinarily this would have lasted us; as it was, we had to but more drinks. No apologies or even the offer of something complimentary for the inconvenience. Not how I’d have treated my customers. A shame. We didnt enjoy the meal as we were pressed for time and having to ask where my food was, was very embarrassing.
Lovely food. Great atmosphere. Really friendly and informal feel. We loved the place, except that service was a bit mixed. After waiting too long to order we were brought free olives. Nice touch. The food all arrived promptly. But later on we had to wait too long to get the bill and again to receive the card reader to pay (that’s the most frustrating one). We would go back to give them another chance
I organised a client wine tasting function for 32 people. After speaking to several colleagues/clients who attended the event I have heard nothing but positive feedback concerning the quality of the wines, the staff were attentive and helpful and the food was plentiful. Many thanks for helping us host this event, we will definitely be using you again in the future.
Lovely restaurant. Food incredible, best Tapas I've had outside of Spain! We were quite a large group but the restaurant wasn't busy. Staff were very attentive and the cocktails fab (lethal, but fab). Very enjoyable evening. Thank you!
Consistently great food and service ! A great bar and deli too !
Excellent meal. Enjoyed it.
Relaxed atmosphere. Good service. Fab tasty food.
Excellent food and host was accommodating to allow us to take something home as we had not spent our full voucher amount. Will definitely return!
Great food as usual, service fantastic. Recommend to anybody.
Four of us attended as part of a birthday celebration - we all had the gourmet platters. The staff added some nice surprises, the food was superb and well planned (tapas), it felt well paced and the service style was relaxed but efficient - the balance was perfect. I don’t like being rushed and wasn’t. I really cannot speak too highly of the experience and would recommend Lunya for any occasion - particularly special ones. We visited Friday 4th Jan 19
Excellent food and drinks, authentic and good value. Service was very good, friendly & helpful. Loved the gambas, Monte Enebro cheese & broccoli in particular. We were sat near a very lively, large group but we were moved to a quieter table which was perfect. Highly recommended!
Service spotty although he seemed a pleasant guy ..... some food was not hot .....
I’m pleased that we had bought a voucher on Manchester confidential as I wouldn’t have wanted to pay full price for this. Prawns over cooked and tasteless, hummus also tasteless was supposed to be served with flatbread but came with crackers, then when we asked for bread got normal bread which they tried to add to the bill at the end. Tuna salad was mainly leaves, the chiperinos were the best but not much there for the money. We sat at a table in the window and it was cold - service was ok, wine wasn’t that cold and they brought a bucket with ice, we won’t be returning I’m afraid, preferring. Evuna or Chiquetti
Food was generally good and there were a few very nice items eg truffle cheese but the mussels dish was terrible and did not eat this. I’m not sure whether this was an issue of taste but my wife and I are both very adventurous eaters and neither of us could deal with the taste / unpleasant smell. The essentially untouched dish was not noticed by the waiting staff and so was paid for. Service was friendly but was very slow despite not appearing to be overly busy. It took ~25 mins to get our drinks. We were in for ~1h50m which is above average for us. We only got through two drinks each and would have had more if we’d been offered them. Portions appeared small for the prices. When considering the food in the context of the service and price, i do not feel I could recommend.
