Not giving 5 stars to food and drink only because I wish there were more western food albeit me coming from Asia. The rest are all 5 stars specially the service. Staff were very attentive and polite. Free return shuttle from our hotel to the restaurant. We felt like VIP guests.
Good service, ambience and great food!
Lumbung is a place that is filled with care and love of each staff... what I experienced with this restaurant was beyond foods which are traditional Indonesian with high standard ingredients... That is, we can experience really heartfelt services and friendly attendance in very beautiful nature surrounded environment, which is rare in Ubud... I highly recommend this place for anyone who wants to experience good qualities and authentic feeling in foods and dining space/environment... Also, they offer free shuttle service from/to the center of Ubud, which is very convenient especially in rainy seasons.... great service... I definitely will come back again.... Thank you, Lumbung for your warm welcome to my Dining experience with your anniversary lunch buffet. I enjoyed it very much with your amazing herbal mix tea (worth try it!!).... True gem with beautiful energies from the staff and the natural environment.
We enjoyed Afternoon Tea Buffet, which includes various type of tea served by a pot, cafe latte, other coffee, and fancy setting small bites of Balinese tasty desert; puttings, some savories... the Atmosphere was great, comfy, beautiful, until a big group of Chinese came to start chatting.... yet it was already a time for us to finish the tea time.... so we left, feeling so relaxed and welcomed... only thing would be their seat cushions, which are too soft for us to keep sitting, maybe a little bit harder ones would be better to hold the body...... yet, we definitely will come back and recommend this place to our friends!
The entire experience at Lumbung was one of the best things we did in Bali! The service was the best I have ever experienced in the world. They picked us up at our hotel, walked us down to the restaurant with an umbrella and made us feel at home the entire dinner. The food was incredible. The restaurant was beautiful and clean and clam, everything you would dream about.
We went to the New Years Eve Dinner: The buffet was by far not worth the price, it additionally spoiled the entire atmosphere in the restaurant; arrival was free, dinner officially started the earliest at 19:00, we arrived at 19:30, stayd until 21:45 could not take the long drinks any more in advance, saw no dance etc. as announced; vegie and vegan were forgotten and only offered in demand; the building was dirty (separating glasses and spider webs over the facade; the included glass of wine was the by far cheapest in the list and not good at all, the next wine (200% prize) was sold out, the next one (250%) was OK: then you were reminded that you have to pay the wine and asked if you wanted to do this immediately (during dinner); pricewise you feel completely fooled, quality wise a full failure and the worst experience in Bali for us.
This restaurant is wonderful. I have read other reports that felt it was expensive but i disagree. The food was perfect, flavours just bonced off your tongue, service attentive just a small nod away and more than happy to give a helping hand with meal choices. If you buy drinks during Happy Hour then drinks inexpensive. Nothing was too much. A high end restaurant with a very friendly atmosphere where we felt comfortable a really memorable meal and we highly recommend all thinking of going actually go as you will no be dusappointed.
The best indonesian food restaurant in Bali with gergeous ambiance and good service. MUST TRY!
