About Louie Louie
LOUIE LOUIE is a cafe during the day with excellent coffee & homemade cakes serving breakfast & lunch weekdays plus all day brunch at the weekends.
At the weekends, we serve brunch from 9am til 3pm, and reservations are welcome up to 2.30pm.
In the evening from Tuesday to Saturday, we transform into a bar & restaurant with rotating Chefs In Residence (read on), cocktails, natural wines and local beers.
Reservations are most welcome between 6 & 10pm Wednesday to Saturday.
For our fifth evening residency of 2018, we welcome the rather brilliant James Donnelly for seven weeks starting on Tuesday 19th June. The former head chef at The Palmerston in Lordship Lane, Dulwich specialises in small plates that brings together the best modern British cuisine using nose-to-tail and root-to-leaf of locally sourced and sustainable produce from within our shores.
In James’s own words ...
“There’s so much amazing food being produced responsibly, organically and sustainably within the UK right now, often grown right under our noses here in London, and I want to take full advantage of this incredible produce. My dishes, small and big, are a culmination of years of working alongside some great chefs (Tom Aikens – Tom’s Kitchen, Jamie Younger – Bibendum, The Palmerston), developing menus, tastes and travelling all around the world finding inspiration, flavours and new cooking techniques".
You can see his full menu here: http://bit.ly/LL_jd
NEW! TUESDAY STEAL! Choose any big plate off the regular evening menu plus a glass of house wine, house beer or soft drink for £16... and any additional sides are just £2.50 each
NEW! BOTTOMLESS AFTERNOON TEA. Every day between 3 & 5pm, you can indulge in unlimited tea/coffee & home made cakes & pastries for only £12 per person. Or celebrate a special occasion (or just treat yourself!) & upgrade to include unlimited Prosecco for £25 per person
At the weekends, DJs play through a bespoke vintage HiFi system with the emphasis firmly on great music and excellent sound quality.
Also on Friday & Saturday evenings, our basement bar is open from 8pm for drinks and cocktails til 1. With comfy booths and room for up to 36 seated guests, the space is also available for private parties at no hire (just a reasonable minimum spend; for more details please email [email protected])
And in other news... Time Out London readers have been voting for their most-loved local city venue in a range of different categories ... and we have won best restaurant, best coffee place, best brunch spot AND best bar in Walworth 2018! Big love to all our faithful customers & staff, we could not have done this without you! xxx
Delicious food from the latest chef in residence - lovely evening as always!
Lovely dinner - lots of little sharing plates and unusual cocktails. It is a great place to eat near Elephant and Castle / Walworth.
The Louie Louie team looked after us so well on the England Semi final night - amazing food, massive efforts from the staff to ensure we could watch the game in comfort and great beers! We'll definitely be back.
Such a fabulous meal, excellent service and the cocktails were brill. It lived up to our expectations and we plan to return for another visiting chef experience! Thank you to James for the amazing food on this occasion!
Amazing food and wine! Will definitely be back!
Great vegan options, nice to be able to book ahead, tasty!!
Great menu with unusual choices and lots to choose from, lovely atmosphere and good value!
Excellent as always!
Love the resident chefs - theres always some fresh new tastes to try and the latest is just delicious!
Just amazing! Great food and service,.. please visit!
Lovely dinner in a very relaxed atmosphere, perfect for summer catch ups! Staff were wonderful and friendly and they have a great cocktail menu!
Interesting brunch menu, staff generally excellent but sadly on this occasion, one of the team forgot to bring parts of our order and didn’t mention that the kitchen had run out of one ingredient. Lovely spot though, will come again.
Absolute gem around elephant and castle. You won't do better that going for dinner at this great restaurant.
Very good all round. Very enjoyable evening. We'll be back!
Great atmosphere and service.
another interesting chef at Louis Louis, Japanese, we had Okonomiyaki pancakes, which I had not had before and were delicious, and a good selection drinks. great service and good atmosphere couldn't have been better
It is a shame that they won't do a different type of eggs on the reasoning that they can't consistency with scrambled eggs!! Scrambled eggs! Or poached!
We had a great time at Louie Louie. Japanese food was very tasty and the local Orbit beer was great. Will definitely be back.
An ok spot for drinks and dinner on the Walworth Road but a little too expensive given its location. Make sure you save up for small, expensive portions of an array of innovative grub.
Delicious and interesting evening menu!
Thank you for s fabulous evening, the food and everything was delicious !
Love it here - such great food and the team are lovely. Go and then go again!
With the road and the talking and the music - it's really noisy. Can you put in some special noise absorbing ceiling tiles or something. Or maybe have the tables a bit less close together? But otherwise lovely.
Loved the happy hour offer, especially because the cocktail we chose was amazing (we had the Dead Sea Sling - scrumptious). The okonomiyaki was also very tasty.
It was our first visit to Louie Louie but we'll definitely be back!
