About Los Reyes
Los Reyes is an award-winning, creative tapas restaurant, housed in a glorious 15th century building in the heart of historic market town Hitchin.
We offer a stylish restaurant, two beautiful private dining rooms with original features, and a secluded courtyard for alfresco dining.
Our food is a fusion of old and new - head chef Louis Edgington draws inspiration from traditional Spanish cuisine and flavours, as well as modern British dining, to create a contemporary, exciting and vibrant menu.
Our first focus is on produce, using only the best of the best that we can find. We source cheeses and meats from local estates and farms; we use authentic produce directly from the best suppliers in Spain, and we engage with award-winning fisheries on our own shores to supply us with the highest quality, sustainably sourced fish and seafood.
Our belief is that if you begin with the best ingredients and treat them with love and respect, you cannot go far wrong in creating sublime, delicious dishes that you want to eat again and again.
We offer various dining options; whether it's an intimate meal for two, a large family celebration, an office party, or anything in between; we have the space and menus to accommodate you. Our large private dining rooms have been used to host business functions, wedding receptions, christenings and birthday parties; our courtyard frequently plays host to summer BBQs, Paella Fiestas, and celebratory drinks receptions. Los Reyes provides a perfect, stylish backdrop for any event, with formal, informal and group dining options available. Please enquire for more details and to book your party. T & C's apply.
The food was delicious and the restaurant very characterful. Only downside is that it’s quite expensive.
Excellent food and wine. The service was efficient, friendly and very informative
Lovely restaurant, amazing tapas, too difficult not to order everything on the menu :)
Very tasty food and probably the best tapas we’ve had outside Spain. But the location of our table and the knowledge of some of the staff spoilt the evening. Our party of 6 had a table just about big enough for 4, which was full with glasses before any food arrived. Also the person on the end had the bar on one side, kitchen entry on the other and people walking past. The knowledge of the staff was varied. Will knew everything but others knew nothing. The Estrella beers were great but the Meantime ales were way too cold. You couldn’t taste them and it was just like drinking fizzy water until they warmed up. We will probably come again bu make sure we get a decent table and have a more relaxed meal.
Service was excellent and quality of the food was high. I felt that for the size of some of the portions it was slightly expensive and the drinks were also quite pricey.
The food was delicious as always, we did overrun on our booking but they were polite enough to let us stay on a little, bit we ended up staying in the bar till late...thanks again for a lovely evening.
Delicious food and faultless service. Quite noisy but everyone seemed to be having a great time!
Place was empty which was a surprise and rather disappointing. It was my husbands birthday so we expected at least something from the visit. Staff were friendly enough. Food was tasty - we opted for the £10 lunch deal which was reasonable value for money, felt portion was a tad on the small side, could of afforded a slightly bigger salad at least. What did surprise us was the business conversation we overhead between a lady sat at a lap top and what we assume was a supplier on the phone .. she was querying numbers etc for quite some time. Not really appropriate given then surroundings certainly not what your customers should be hearing. All in all we were disappointed as we had been really looking forward to it... so underwhelmed is an understatement. We would however give this place another try perhaps one evening before writing the place off entirely.
