My friends and I had a delicious, sparkling afternoon tea in the glorious sunshine. It was delicately sized so that all of the afternoon tea could be enjoyed without filling up on a massive scone or sandwich and every part could be tasted and enjoyed - a fabulous idea and I still left feeling full! The staff and the location were lovely. We have already set a date to come again!
Possibly the best steak I have ever eaten!! Absolutely perfect. The staff were attentive enough without being intrusive and the whole lunch - a treat for my friend's special birthday - was wonderful.
Service staff excellent but unfortunately one of our main courses was unsatisfactorily small; the battered fish no better than the average fish & chips shop and the 3 times cooked chips inferior to may once fried chips. Been to visit before but this time the food was not up to the expected standard. Unfortunately a disappointing trip butwe love Long Melford and fortunately there are many other eateries within a few steps of yours.
We came for the first time this weekend, we had a bed, dinner & breakfast stay !! We stayed in room 2 ... it’s was really fantastic :) the food was top notch and the staff were really friendly and helpful ! Literally can not fault our stay & we will be re booking another stay in the future xx
Beautiful sunny garden to enjoy lovely food!
Really great meal out, attentive and knowledgable staff food delicious!
Very good quality pub/restaurant. Lovely room, really great food and the service was exceptional.
Good location and clean, modern decor. Professional staff and good ambience in public areas.
It was a nice atmosphere but service was a bit slow and the waitress entirely forgot to bring the potatoes to go with one of our dishes. However we did appreciate the gesture of having a reduction on the bill in recognition of the oversight.
Excellent for a celebration meal. Tends to be a bit on the expensive side if you plan to do any regular dining. That said the food was excellent.
Fell upon this place after a couple of other places were full. So glad we did. Lovely room, beautiful meal, helpful attentive staff. Would stay her again and recommend to anyone.
Excellent food and service
Amazing roast dinner
We love the Ram at Hadleigh so we decided to try the Swan for a change. We were not disappointed and the setting is lovely. However, a couple of small points. My roast pork was served without apple sauce. In addition, there was a very long wait between ordering our sweet and delivery, with no explanation. The reason was obvious - all staff eee tied up serving a main course to a table of 8. The food was outstanding as always and 99% of the service excellent! We will be back.
Very enjoyable Sunday night away.. food was great
Unfortunately our stay wasn’t great, i feel like the room we stayed in was only worth half of what we paid. The room was far too hot so we didnt sleep well, there was no air conditioning and tbe window couldnt be opened. Our room was next to the main door so were dodturbed with people entering/leaving. Our bathroom was very grubby. Although staff were friendly they seemed very short staffedand service was so slow. Food was lovely but not enough of it for the price. Was meant to get free canape’s with every cocktail ordered between 5pm and 7pm which we didnt. This place looks beautiful but unfortunately lacks the little touches that would make this place amazing! Would never return or recommend. Probably wouldve had a better stay at a premier inn!
Overpriced and not that wonderful! Our Monkfish main course was tiny for £18. My Bakewell tart was the worst I've ever had - hard pastry shell and no taste of Almonds. My moderate score for food and drink reflects the fact that my sister's roast pork was very nice and according to my husband the pints of Taylor's Landlord were excellent. The service was very poor, nobody came to take our order until we indicated we were ready. We weren't asked if we wanted a dessert, I had to go to the bar and request a menu. At the end of the meal we weren't asked if wanted anything else like coffee. They gave us the bill and missed off 3 pints of beer, 2 glasses of wine, and 2 soft drinks - a difference of over £38! You are lucky we are honest and alerted your staff to this. I'd rather have not paid it myself as the prices were astronomical!
Wonderful evening Interesting tasty food that we each enjoyed
Delicious food and excellent service
Paid £270 for a meal. Very, very happy to spend that on a nice meal but I strongly feel that the children’s menu is overpriced. In reality, that was only three people from a party of eleven but £3.50 for a child’s apple juice. Is that for real??!! Service, food etc all good but I took exception to the kid’s menu prices.
Fabulous! Stayed in room 10 -The Suite (we were upgraded) for a few days to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Staff were very welcoming, the suite was fabulous, extremely comfortable, cosy and immaculately clean. Food was amazing too with great service and lovely ambience. Would definitely recommend and would stay again too. Thank you for looking after us so well!
Excellent food and very friendly service. Enjoyed our evening very much and will definitely be returning. Just wish we lived nearer, so we could both have a drink.
Food is good but not consistent. Sometimes the roast veg and potatoes are over cooked on sundays. We booked over a week in advance as we usually do and had chosen to book here again last time because they weee advertising on their website and Instagram a rhubarb soufflé dessert which sounded amazing plus had two other lovely desserts on their menu one lemon one and a chocolate fondant. When I called to book a table I asked would they still have these three desserts on the menu when we were booked to come and they spoke to the Chef and they assured us they would and put a note on our booking that we would like theses desserts however when we arrived not even one of those desserts were on the menu so we were obviously very disappointed as we do not live local and can’t just pop in at the last minute when and if they decide to do them again. The desserts they were offering instead were no where near as nice so None of us had any! Won’t be back again now in a hurry!
AMAZING SWAN TEA
