About Afton Restaurant at Lochside House Hotel
Set within 20 acres of land, overlooking the Loch of the Lowes and with the nearby Creoch in sight, the hotel boasts magnificent views of the surrounding Ayrshire countryside. The individual and welcoming hotel with private grounds invites you to discover Burns country, and view the landscape that inspired his poetry.
it was a bit hectic on our arrival with a wedding fare but didn't spoil our enjoyment. The Spa was terrific
Delicious meal once again at Lochside
Very good food with excellent staff.
I am a regular customer but sadly yesterday the food was somewhat disappointing. The chef kindly changed the pasta for me however there was no garlic or pancetta in the sauce only mushrooms and cream. So it was rather bland. I then ordered the raspberry and white chocolate cheesecake however this was not what came. There was no raspberry in any part of the dessert and the accompanying sauce was milk chocolate. Unfortunately my friend's sticky toffee pudding was chewy and the base quite tough. This was a one off as food is normally excellent however disappointing.
Lovely relaxing dining experience
had a wonderful time at lochside house hotel and food and atmosphere in afton restaurant was first class nothing was too much for staff on duty and could not have made our visit any more pleasant x was truly a brilliant night
After enjoying our meal the previous evening our meal on this date was a disappointment. My starter of scallops were tiny and luke warm, drowned in salad and what was supposed to be pork medallion for my main course turned out to be 3slices of roast pork folded over! Overall the contrast between the food on the two evenings was most evident from the quality of food to the presentation.
We love every part of Lochside. Have told all our friends how very welcoming the staff, therapists and receptionists are. Can’t wait to return.
Had a lovely lunch with friends. Staff were lovely and did not rush us. Spent the whole afternoon there. Will definitely return.
Really enjoyed our stay at the hotel overall however, a special mention must go out to the restaurant staff who where fantastic and were always smiling. Oh and a special thanks to the female chef who kindly gave my wife the use of her phone charger as she forgot to take it with her (as usual).
Really enjoyed our time at lochside and all staff a real credit to the company
I had a very enjoyable stay form arrival to departure the staff were excellent and very welcoming facilities great and treatments very enjoyable
Great food, but service was rather slow - 7.15 reservation; after 8pm before we were served. Asked if we would like a dessert menu - we would; asked again 10 minutes later as we hadn't received them. Two drivers in the party - plastic straws arrived with the soda and lime, without being given the option to not have them. (Even Weatherspoons have abandoned plastic straws.) And all to the accompaniment of a rather intrusive 1980s soundtrack which made conversation somewhat difficult. I tried to raise these points directly rather than on Trip Advisor, as we actually really like Lochside House, but couldn't find an email address on the web-site: I was offered 'Live Chat'. I gave up waiting for my contact to start typing after 20 minutes, and asked for an email address to be sent to me. Still waiting 15 hours later, so not very 'Live' chat!. The very lengthy promotional phone messages whilst waiting for someone at reception to pick up the phone are rather off-putting, I would prefer a very brief marketing message and soothing music rather than being offered every option under the sun. Rather takes the shine off the lovely meal we enjoyed with great company, but maybe a few extra staff would have reduced the pressure on the lovely young folk who were doing their best.
Top class service and experience already planning a return visit !
Really tasty food on the menu. Compliments to the chef
Staff are very at tentative and eager to please. Made a special effort with my niece, who was celebrating a recent birthday. Decorated a plate with chocolates and brought it to our room.
Had a lovely lunch on Sunday with my Sister. Great food and service within a lovely setting.
Visited Lochside House to celebrate my niece’s 21st. Staff couldn’t do enough for us.
The food was delicious, and service perfect
