About Afton Restaurant at Lochside House Hotel
Set within 20 acres of land, overlooking the Loch of the Lowes and with the nearby Creoch in sight, the hotel boasts magnificent views of the surrounding Ayrshire countryside. The individual and welcoming hotel with private grounds invites you to discover Burns country, and view the landscape that inspired his poetry.
Food tasted lovely and was cooked to perfection. The portion sizes were of good size.
Beautiful setting. Staff were courteous friendly and attentive. Food delicious and a wide choice at breakfast.
Excellent and well appointed hotel. If I had a complaint it was only that the food portions were TOO large! However, the food was excellent.
The only reason I have marked down slightly on value for money was due to the time restriction on the voucher we had to use, we could only book when the spa was closed for refurbishment therefore we couldn't make full use of the hotel. However we were given a complimentary room upgrade upon arrival which I feel was an effort to make up for this. Food was fantastic!
Had a lovely overnight stay - so relaxing and a wonderful evening meal
Everything perfect. Only complaint would be the mattress was very hard and floor in bathroom was needing update. Lovely setting for an hotel and staff very helpful and friendly. Would definitely book again!
We waited 55mins for mains and 25 for desserts there were another 3couples in at this time was not busy did speak to server about this but was not acknowledged
Brilliant service, staff took a real interest in ensuring we enjoyed our meal. Polite yet relaxed friendly feel & appreciated the personal touch by the team. Please keep up the great work 😀
Enjoyed afternoon tea. Great food and great service.
Had the chance to have dinner, lunch and breakfast here. Could not have faulted the product for both dinner and lunch, however with each meal I specified gluten free - the breakfast dish caused me to encounter a flare up due to cross contamination ultimately causing us to lose our time slot for the spa access and currently on day 2 of excruciating pain. Service was well below par, within the hospitality sector myself I understand it can be tricky to always please everyone. However, servers standing laughing and joking amongst each other when you are waiting to be seated, continually having to ask for the same item repeatedly and the lack of interaction from the servers (even at non-peak times) for e.g. we sat with empty plates with no communication from anyone for over 15 minutes. Apart from the CC mishap, cannot fault the food. A good Restaurant Manager would be able to iron out service issues.
Good choice of menu, friendly staff and lovely setting
My Favourite Spot. Food is great and the views are stunning. Service can be slow but it is always very busy so this is understandable.
Fabulous food, great prices and excellent service!
Had the most relaxing time ever.
Lovely food and nothing a bother for the staff.
The food and drink were excellent!! Best meal I’ve had in years!
Thank you for inviting me for a complimentary afternoon tea to help make up for last time. The afternoon tea selection was great and it all tasted amazing. Free refills for our tea was fab also. Service was good too. Thank you and can't wait to visit again!
Lovely meal and great service
Jo,our waitress was superb!!!
Excellent service from all restaurant staff , very friendly and helpful , food was Devine as normal . Will definitely be back
Food was amazing but service was very slow we were waiting 15 mins to get drinks after asking twice and waited around 40 mins for our starters and about the same again before our mains came
Superb place to stay or just to dine. The quality of the food and the service is superb. All the staff as so friendly and helpful. Although the Lochside is a little of the beaten track it is well worth a visit.
Lovely hotel fully recommended it
enjoyed the meal, but think the selection for the 2 or 3 courses is a bit mean
