About Loch Fyne Oyster Bar,Scotland
The original Oyster Bar and Farm Shop started in a small shed in the lay-by at the head of Loch Fyne in the early 80’s, then in 1988 moved into the old cow byre at Clachan Farm. The thick stone walls of the original building have seen politicians, celebrities, film stars, royalty and visitors from far and wide pass between them. Inside décor and furnishings have evolved from what was initially an indoor picnic area to a restaurant equipped to equal standards found in cosmopolitan locations.
This was the quickest 3 course meal I have ever been served. When we arrived at 4 oclock as per reservation we were shown to our table by the server who began telling us about the menu before we got our coats off or even pulled our chairs out to sit. We soon discovered why - everyone seemed in a rush to get out. This is the first time we have ever sat eating our meal while the place was closing all around us. When I booked on-line it mentioned we had 2 hours to have a meal. We were out by 5 o’clock. From the time we ordered our first course to the time we were finished it took 45 mins.
Very good but pricey staff are very good
Another wonderful meal at our favourite restaurant in the whole of Scotland. Only one small quibble - the quality of the bread served at the start of the meal. It’s white and pappy and tasteless. Perhaps we came on a bad day?
My wife was disappointed to find the risotto was off, she as so looking forward to that
Delicious food in a beautiful location. Well worth the drive.
I came for lunch yesterday and had the scallops for main course. I think they may have been undercooked as I was vomiting all afternoon within 30 minutes of consumption. The meal overall was wonderful and the other members of my party were unaffected.
Really enjoyed our visit. The food was excellent, I especially enjoyed the oysters and the chowder.
Fantastic food, great service, no negatives.
Had an amazing lunch in a beautiful setting. Service and food were perfect.
First class food, location and staff!!
The food was excellent, service was fantastic, just thought the price of a bottle of wine was steep! I understand the principle of Mark-up but the cheapest white was dearer than most of the food dishes? Just put me off buying a bottle, which I normally would!
Excellent all round, staff brilliant, well worth the visit.
Staff we’re extremely helpful, friendly and accommodating of our requests for different mains and desserts for our children. Overall a lovely Birthday lunch. Thank u
Essen ist hervorragend. Der Hummer unglaublich.
Me and my better half came and absolutely thought this place was fantastic. The food is top notch and the staff are very friendly and always happy to help. I cannot wait to travel up from County Durham and visit this restaurant again.
Had a lovely meal and really enjoyed it. I had a half lobster which was brilliant. The restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere and the staff were friendly.
The staff were warm and welcoming and made our birthday celebration extra special. We look forward to returning for more delicious meals in this wonderful setting.
Always wonderful Food and great service
Wonderful location with great food - we went for breakfast, plenty of diverse options for all tastes. Can’t wait to visit again for dinner!
Really great food and service
Wonderful food, friendly staff and very accommodating of small children.
Great food - fresh and deliciously cooked local produce. The cockles starter was particularly good. Friendly staff and lovely atmosphere. This was a return visit and will come back again and recommend.
We really enjoyed our special visit for my daughter's birthday - the service was excellent throughout the experience from booking through to payment so thank you. We would have liked the opportunity to try more dishes but in smaller portions or combining hot and cold starters, so may be worth considering if made financial sense ? And we enjoyed our trip to the deli - - shame we couldn't buy the butter used in restaurant - but that's a small point!
