Fantastic food excellent value for money drinks very expensive
Wonderful staff, beautiful food.
Excellent service. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Food was excellent
We have visited LLechwen a few times now for afternoon tea as well as the Christmas Lunch. We have never had a bad experience there in terms of service, quality and quantity of food. We do find the soft drinks a little on the expensive side.
I booked this as a 40th birthday celebration for myself. I was extremely disappointed with the service. There were 9 of us so not an excessively big party and the restaurant was quiet with only about another 5 tables there. We waited a long time for the table to be cleared and my parents had arranged a cake and sparkling wine for a toast. Several times they asked for the table to be cleared and for the cake and wine to be served. In the end my sister had to go to the bar and collect it herself. The waiting staff looked scruffy and disorganised and for what should have been a celebratory lunch ended up being an unhappy event with the entire table disappointed with the lack of service. The atmosphere in the restaurant was one of inconvenience to the staff that were serving us and despite me having fond memories of the llechwen Hall we won't be returning any time soon.
Very tasty Sunday dinner, excellent service and a great setting with beautiful views. Loads of conkers for the kids to collect in the garden too. We'll defo be back!
The drinks are quite expensive 3 gins and lemonade £20
Very good experience, service and food was excellent. My only concern was the road leading to the hotel, it's scarier than many roller coasters I've been on!
We had a lovely afternoon in a beautiful setting. Would highly recommend!
The service was slow and we had to wait a long time for food and drinks. We ordered five chateaubriand steaks, all of which were cold on arrival. Staff are young and inexperienced. They had not tasted any of the food on the menu, which is a real issue at any quality establishment. We dine out frequently at quality restaurants and feel we are able to distinguish average from quality. We paid £214 for five meals and that was after a 20% discount on the steaks. This was a very disappointing experience and we expected a lot better. It is unlikely that we will return.
Sunday lunch we had was great
First time for us to visit Llecwen Hall, to sample the food and beverage. Food was excellent as was the service. All staff were polite and attentive. Will be back in the not too distant future.👍
Booked afternoon tea for 7 people, poor selection of sandwiches and not many of them but an abundance of cakes!!! Service was good to begin with but after our afternoon tea was served all of the staff disappeared..there was no opportunity to ask for more drinks and we didn’t know where we had to pay as there was no staff around at all..tables were left with dirty plates from Sunday lunch...not very professional in my opinion which was quite disappointing considering it was 3 girls special 16th birthday treat
My low score for service was due to a number of problems. Namely I was served with the bottled beer I asked for, but was not given a glass and had to use a wine glass. When I asked for a second beer, I did get a beer glas, but was told that that was the last bottle available. It is unacceptable when visiting such an established hotel, to discover that they have “run out of beer” !. My partner asked for a Ginger Ale, but the waitress didn’t know if it was available. My partner then said that in that case a Cranberry and Soda would be her next choice but again the staff didn’t know if they had any. She did eventually get a fruit juice but the process took a very long time to conclude. When I asked for the bill, I enquired if I could pay by Amex, but the waitress didn’t know and we had to wait while she went to ask. I was told I could pay by Amex, but the card reader would not accept it, and I was asked to pay at the bar. Yet again the card reader at the bar could not accept my Amex card, and I eventually had to pay using a MasterCard. My impression of the service was, that although the staff were polite and apologetic about the problems, they clearly are in need of considerably more training, and the stock keeping needs a revue urgently. In all other respects, our visit was enjoyable. The quality of the food was particularly praiseworthy. However the overall impression was that the staff have not had enough training and running out of bottled beer is inexcusable.
Very good service quick and efficient. Nice and friendly staff.
Everything was lovely, the food drink and the service was excellent. Twice we have eaten and not been at all disappointed. I’m also happy with the happy birthday slate my partner was given when we were not expecting it. Nice touch.
Most pleasant experience. Will certainly see you again. Shame that you are closed on Christmas Day !
Beautiful food and excellent service
Afternoon tea was very nice, but we had to specifically ask ourselves if we could get some more clotted cream, jam, tea... The experience would bee more complete imho if someone would come up and ask if we wanted some more instead of us having to ask for it (as clotted cream and ja were a bit limited for the very nice number of scones we got ;-) ) and more tea is always welcome. All in all nice but not yet perfect...
Excellent value for money and excellent quality food
