About Llangoed Hall
Open 7 days a week.
booking in advance recommended.
Fantastic food. This latest chef is a big improvement from the one about 7 years ago. Now more on a par with Portmeirion.
Even in the midst of Covid and it’s constraints on social interaction Llangoed Hall - the house and grounds, the location and above all the chefs and waiting staff gave us a memory never to be forgotten and one which we will bore the pants off all our friends when we repeatedly relate the tale.
Lovely afternoon tea, served in beautiful surroundings,I would have Preferred more savouries to the cakes but that is personal choice, will definitely return as this is my third visit.
Very relaxing atmosphere, Covid-19 arrangements were good, staff were attentive and friendly, room (state deluxe) spacious and clean, gardens lovely. Breakfast on first day had a problem with our coffee but this was quickly remedied, breakfast second day was better and dinner was very good. We would definitely return. We noted that there was limited availability of non-dairy milk (overheard this in dining room) and this would prove a problem if we brought our adult children who no longer have dairy products.
We have stayed before and always love coming back to stay. The quality of the food is outstanding, the staff are so helpful and polite nothing is too much bother for them. Our room this time was small compared to the last couple of stays. We like to walk so the location is ideal. We spoke to mandy and the gardening staff to as were interested in the veg patches and grounds they were very knowledgeable. Excellent stay and we always recommend your hotel to friends and family thanks again
The staff were so friendly. They managed to make us feel very welcome and safe, despite the Covid situation. It is a beautiful place, with an atmosphere that leaves you feeling completely at home. The garden was lovely and the Head gardener, Mandy, was delightful, giving us a lot of time and advice. All this with a free room upgrade and wonderful meals: the Woodruff panna-cotta was a tour de force, but dinner, breakfast and informal lunch on the terrace were all magnificent.
Wonderful location and building; excellent staff and service. A very memorable visit.
5th visit. We always look forward to coming back
Worth every penny. Yes it is a more expensive dinning experience but staff go above and beyond, food and drink are divine. Can’t wait to go back
Wonderful setting.Friendly staff.
Extremely disappointed as two of our party do not eat pork/ham. I emailed twice rung twice then rung the night before spoke to the waitress when we arrived and still we were served with sausage rolls!! The reply was they didn’t think!! Very disappointing
My sister and I went to Llangoed Hall for a champagne afternoon tea to celebrate a special birthday and everything about it was excellent. When we had finished we were free to take a leisurely stroll around the beautiful grounds which made it a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon.
This place is absolutely incredible. Friendly staff, comfortable and stunningly designed bedrooms with spectacular views. The walk around the property is absolutely beautiful if you go to the river. We will definitely go back!! It was a stay well worth the spends and has been etched into our minds forever
Enjoyed the stay at this hotel, and really appreciated the house, its contents and the site. Staff were personable and unfailingly polite, but mostly young/inexperienced and not always on the ball, with longueurs between requests and their fulfilment. The wine list was very impressive and extensive, but the mark up is very high. The real disappointment was the food. Ingredients were high quality and individual parts cooked extremely well - the duck breast for example - but seasoning was not well judged, and the presentation lacked the style and colour which attracts the eye as well as stimulating the palate. Having eaten in more celebrated establishments for less money, we did not feel the overall quality merited the price charged for the meal. Service at breakfast was more efficient than dinner, with rather older staff in attendance. It was surprising not to be asked how we wanted the eggs poached, and of the four delivered two were quite solid, one was perfectly runny and the fourth a little undercooked. Meat content was excellent in the full Welsh; the avocado served on artisan bread, but toast was thin sliced and offered little by way of taste. The micro-diced fruit salad was of limited interest. Didn't mention anything of this at the time, as it was not a complaint at all - just a disappointment.
We felt looked after from the time we arrived until the moment we left. Wonderful building in a wonderful setting with many interesting artefacts and art works.
From the moment we stepped through the front door, we knew that we were in a special place. The Staff, the cleanliness, food and ambience are wonderful. The beds too are so comfortable, it was a job to leave them for breakfast!! Thank you all for the wonderful few days that we spent with you. We will return as soon as we can.
Grounds and gardens are beautiful, really lovely to walk around and have a sit and wander after a lovely afternoon tea.
llangoed is unique, so it is difficult to give ratings, but the rooms and the house provide exceedingly comfortable accommodation with wonderful views; the atmosphere is of a comfortable luxurious country house, rather than of a corporate institution. The staff are doing a wonderful job in very difficult (coronavirus) circumstances, but they are friendly, helpful and seem enthusiastic about Llangoed Hall itself. The freedom to walk around the grounds and garden, or along the beautiful river is hugely appreciated; the fact that it is not a 'show garden' the more so. Finally, the standard of the food, whether breakfast or a 3-course dinner is exceptional - perhaps the best dinner we have ever experienced!
A thoroughly enjoyable stay excellent service location and food. We’ have stayed several times in the last 30 years and had anticipated in times of lockdown that things would not be as good. How wrong can you be? Although COVID restrictions obviously gave the staff extra problems they were unfailingly courteous and helpful and service was up to the usual high standards. The dinner was excellent and the breakfast alone would have made the stay worthwhile. Thankyou
We are enjoying our stay with you immensely and will certainly stay again. All the Staff that we have met have been wonderful, very polite and helpful. The Hotel is very comfortable and beautifully furnished with some lovely antiques. Thank you all.
Truly excellent food - we much enjoyed the seven course menu. The chef produced excellent vegetarian options as well as the standard courses.
Lovely helpful staff. Very relaxing
Fully appreciate that Covid restrictions have impacted the hotel and restaurant. In general the hotel are managing this very well. However there is a reduced menu, the service was slow (particularly when you arrive at the pre-booked time - ie left waiting without any acknowledgement, pre dinner drinks, menu etc). That said, despite the limited choice, the food was delicious. We were seated in the Orangery on hard backed chairs (a little uncomfortable) and the room was a little cold.
