About Little Ships Ramsgate
With stunning views over the Royal Harbour, Little Ships Restaurant and Café takes its name from the armada of 'Little Ships' who set sail from Ramsgate during the Dunkirk evacuations in 1940. Open 7 days a week, we serve an all day dining and café menu which specialises in fish and local produce from Kent farms. Lots of vegan and vegetarian options available. Enjoy coffee and drinks overlooking the marina.
Unfortunately we didn’t stay to eat as it was so cold and drafts in your restaurant and we felt we wouldn’t be able to enjoy our lunch. We had a drink with you which was nice and the blonde girl serving us was very friendly and attentive. We will come back in the warmer months and look forward to trying your food.
Love the feel of the place, and little things like the good quality napkins just make it. We’ve been numerous times for lunch but this was our first evening dining experience and it was excellent.
Food delicious, service 1st rate. Really enjoyable evening, many thanks!!!
We had a booking for 8 on Saturday evening with 6 Belgian friends. The choice of food was extremely good. Very accommodating with two teenagers meals. The meat and pasta eaters were very impressed with the food - apparently the pork chops were heavenly. For all vegetarians you must try the whole cauliflower with a Moroccan flavour. Out of this world. Service excellent and the view was beautiful
Excellent service and a first class meal. Highly recommended !
We really enjoyed our night. My favourite part was the starter, I had the scotch egg with bacon jam. Perfect!
We had high hopes for this as we had been recommended Little Ships by family who had previously dined there and loved it. The starters were nice but the mains very average. I had the mussels which were gritty and the white wine sauce I found to be watery with no real depth of flavour. My fiancé went for the steak flatbread, he was very disappointed also. There was far too much pickled cabbage, this completely dominated the dish so that the steak was completely lost. Overall staff were polite and friendly.
Recommend the scotch egg
Really good breakfast on a glorious morning overlooking fab view - what's not to like?! Completely loved the decor with all the produce displayed. Will definitely be going back soon to try out other tempting menu choices.
Very nice and would definitely come back soon lovely food and good service.
We were booked out from the Empire Rooms to the Little Ships. We had a lovely time. The whole experience was great. I would highly recommend this restaurant
All three courses were excellent, fantasic decoration of the restaurant with a harvest theme and loverly atmosphere. Thank you to all at the little ships
I'm afraid it was a very disappointing visit. We have eaten here about 4 times since it's changed hands and always enjoyed the food and the re-ramped restarant. In fact we brought some friends for two reasons, one you did a very good English breakfast and 2 one of our friends likes advacardo for breakfast. So when we saw the menus had changed 2 people were disapinted and 2 OK. What was very hard to appreciate was that all the breakfast items were available (apart from beans) but we couldn't have them on the same plate. Apparently adding items on the menu from one dish to another stresses out the chef. The roasted tomatoes hadn't been "roasted" some were cold. The advacardo was missing from the plate when it arrived, had to be sent back to be added. The chilli flakes were over the top, far too many. We ordered water and didn't get it I asked for orange juice and was asked if I wanted ice, I didn't and still got it. And added to this it wasn't very busy. While we were there we overheard another table question the whereabouts of the English breakfast. I have nothing against what could be discribed as a "trendy" breakfast menu but surly it can't be beyond a professional chef to put fried eggs, bacon tomataos and mushrooms and toast on a plate. ALL of these ingredients featuring in other dishes on the menu. What happened to the customer being right?
friendly staff, really tasty food.
First time trying Little Ships and wasn’t disappointed. Food excellent and can’t wait to book again so I can try the Humous starter a friend ordered and said it was delicious. The view helps of course!!
A varied menu. All the family enjoyed their meals. Will be visiting again.
Our First visit to Little Ships on a rainy Sunday Morning, but well worth it for a full English and poached eggs, avocado on sour dour! Will be returning soon.
Great restaurant - sister to the Empire Rooms that is also in Ramsgate. Small, but we'll thought out, menu with a lot of thought about getting the most from the ingredients. A good wine selection, including some lovely English wines.
A very enjoyable evening hope to come back again soon
Thank you so much for a really lovely lunch, the food was delicious and very good quality and the service, as always, was exceptional. I will definitely be coming again soon. Keep up the brilliant work!
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal with you on Sunday and would definitely come again.
Great evening and the food was excellent.
Nice food and speedy service
Fantastic breakfast in beautiful surroundings
Had heard lots of good things about Little Ships. Have never been asked for a card details for reservation outside west end London before and imagined this would be a high end experience for that reason. However found restaurant friendly and relaxed, staff were a little frantic at times, but seemed to cope well. Portion size good, food cooked and presented well. Only slight disappointment came from the menu, I'd have liked more choice of mains or a specials board for the evening.
