Relaxed & informal neighbourhood restaurant with a wine-led approach to French cuisine.
We enjoyed delicious food, brilliant recommendations and advice from staff, lovely atmosphere, were comfortable with the covid / social distancing measures that were in place, and generally had a brilliant evening. Thank you littlefrench team.
Beautiful food and a lovely experience. A great way to spend a Monday lunch time.
Even in these different times of Covid, we had a relaxed time with fantastic food and service. We will be back
Fabulous, interesting food. Great service. Thank you.
What a wonderful restaurant – had one of the best meals out we’ve had in ages. Will definitely be back for more!
Lovejy dinner and friendly attentive service . So impressed by your chef
Lovely restaurant, brilliant food - the venison with celeriac gratin was one of the best meals I’ve had in Bristol for a while. Will definitely return after the next lockdown!
Really accommodating for the kids we brought, and great food! We couldn’t finish everything and they happily wrapped up the rest for us to take home. Could not ask for a better neighbourhood restaurant!
We booked lunch as last minute prelockdown treat ! We weren’t disappointed ! This was our first visit but had heard so many good things about this place. The restaurant had a lovely busy atmosphere; esp for a Monday lunchtime !! The staff were ever so friendly and there was a relaxed informal tone. The menu offered everything we could have asked for and the food we ordered lived up to our high expectations. We have already booked to come again for an evening meal with the family after lockdown. Thank you for a really lovely time !!
Really enjoyed our lunch celebration in the courtyard. Everything had been done to make this a comfortable and pleasant space - given current restrictions. The food and wine was just delicious - certainly not 'run of the mill' and with a typical 'french flavour'. Will definitely go back before too long.
We were booked in for a meal yesterday lunch time but the electricity supply had failed. Despite this you managed to give us some very tasty food so thank you. We would like to come again after the lockdown is over. We look forward to the bakery opening.
We had a good evening the waitress was very friendly, the food fish was excellent, the atmosphere was good, the only disappointing thing was they wanted to keep the door open because of COVID-19 my food got cold quickly. But I rate them highly Regards Frank
Little French is a little bit of heaven tucked away in Westbury park. The food was to die for, flavours out of this world. I had the scallops and sea trout - the sauces were delicious. My friend had a soup and venison and even as a pescatarian, it looked melt in the mouth. We sat outside under heaters and there were pretty lights, big umbrellas and outdoor heaters. Was very comfy, even on the last day of October. Couldn’t recommend this restaurant enough.
Beautiful setting. Food was outstanding. We were sat next to the chef and wine expert which are so passionate about everyone meal and drink which was amazing to see. Wish we could go again next week. Setup so covid friendly yet warming and inviting.
My friend and I decided to try Little French as we used to eat at the Lido and new the chef had set up his own restaurant. We were sat outside which was fine with patio heaters and neither of us could fault the food itself. A wonderful piece of sea trout, cooked perfectly with a delicious prune and armagnac tart to finish. One slight complaint is that the food should have been served on warm plates as it became cold very quickly when eating outside. However what let the entire meal down was the service which at best was slightly comical and at worst diabolical! On arrival we were sat at our table and ordered some water and a glass of wine along with some bread and olives. The waitress seemed efficient but not friendly or welcoming. We sat there for 15 - 20 mins with no drinks or appetisers. The outside waitress was not busy as she was cleaning tables and just standing doing nothing. At that point a different waitress brought our mains before any drinks or appetisers. We complained and within a few minutes we had our drinks but did not appreciate having the appetiser served with the main course. We also realised that the table water was already outside and the waitress had just completely failed to bring it over. She seemed completely uninterested in anything or anyone!! We witnessed the same waitress take a number of dishes to the wrong tables including our coffees that we ordered at the end of the meal. With only 4 tables outside occupied I find it very difficult to understand the level of service. Unfortunately although I would like to recommend this restaurant to family and friends I simply can’t as the level of service was equivalent to something you might find at a Weatherspoons or worse. It is a real shame as after checking trip advisor there are many similar complaints about the service meaning this is not just a one off situation.
Delicious food. Table booked with friends who had been twice before they said food was just as good as their previous visits.
Fantastic food service was excellent
An excellent meal. Wonderful range on the menu. Good value wines. Excellent Covid precautions. It is always encouraging to see well known TV personalities in the trade eating alongside!
Lovely meal book to come back next week
First visit. Scallops and Cote de Boeuf were excellent, Langoustines a little disappointing, icy cold and very small when the shells were removed. Good ambience , look forward to returning.
The food and service and amazing! This was the best meal we’ve had in a very long time!
Lovely evening thank you 😊
Eating in the courtyard was a delightful and delicious experience. We had a magical night at Littlefrench
Does what it says on the tin, relaxed, informal, good food, good wine, reasonably priced, what’s not to like.
