Relaxed & informal neighbourhood restaurant with a wine-led approach to French cuisine.
Great laid back vibe with fabulous no frills food.
Had a great meal - delicious food, impeccable service, fun and relaxed ambience. Really looking forward to visiting again.
All the food was excellent and we really enjoyed it. We had two espresso coffees at the end and they were so strong we could barely drink them, but overall five-star
The food was nice enough, but expensive. The courtyard was ok, but lacks atmosphere in the day and there are weeds growing up through the cracks! You appear not to be passing on the VAT reduction and are not taking part in the Eat Out to Help Out scheme - both are disappointing... the approach lacks customer focus. I’m afraid we have cancelled a future booking as a result.
Disappointed there was no fish on the menu. Asked why not in Government Eat out Help out the manager said they have more than enough bookings and turn some away. My response was, yes but that would still happen and the clients would be happier to receive the £10 per meal off the bill. I would. Seems strange reasoning if it costs LF nothing where they could gain more goodwill.
This was an amazing dinner - I felt like I’d stepped off the plane and into a small square in the south of France. The food and drink were delicious, the atmosphere was perfect. I’ve already re-booked and recommended to all my friends. Thank you
Fabulous food in a really lovely court yard setting. Could not recommend highly enough.
Little French have gone from good to great and shown what creativity and imagination can do to create something better during this pandemic. The outdoor dining area works brilliantly, food is as good as always and staff were friendly. Love their ingenuity!
We have long thought the courtyard needed to be canopied for al fresco dining and you have done it superbly. Lunch there on a hot summer's day was as good as being in a top restaurant in France itself, but without the hassle of getting there! Appropriate background music too. We have rebooked already!
Excellent meal, well thought out menus and very helpful waitresses. You have done a great job with the courtyard. We will be back.
Food was superb. We had a whole turbot to share, cooked to perfection. Service was quite slow, and they forgot our bread but we were enjoying a nice chilled Sunday out so we didn't mind. However staff were very friendly is smiley. Great spot sitting outside the courtyard area of the church, felt I was having lunch somewhere on holiday in Europe.
I struggled with the menu as I like steak med to well and was told it wasn’t possible, I don’t eat fish or lamb and there was no chicken, so had a risotto which was nice. My husband had the steak which he enjoyed.
Fabulous our first time out and perfect. Shame about the flies but not your fault just the weather
We had a wonderful anniversary meal with you. It was the first meal out we have had since March and it was utterly brilliant. The food was wonderful and the staff couldn’t have been any more helpful. Thank you!
We arrived at 8:15 for our 8:15 reservation and were shown to our table. The waitress asked if we would like some water and it came immediately, but with no ice as requested. She then advised us that they were a man down as the barman had suffered an injury and had had to go to A&E, so could we bear with them? No problem. 30 minutes later, we were still sat there waiting to order. I did attract her attention to try and order some wine whilst we waited, but was told "please hang on for 2 minutes". We finally managed to order at 08:45 - starters, main courses and a bottle of wine, Finchers Sauvignon Blanc. We waited 25 minutes for our starters, but still no wine had arrived. When it did, it was an inferior French sauvignon blanc, but we could not be bothered to get it changed as time was moving on and the food was on the table. We were by now also being served by a waiter. Whilst eating the starters the waitress asked if we would like some bread to go with it. Yes, please. No bread ever appeared. I then ordered a second bottle of wine and asked if this time we could have the Fincher's, but was told by a new waitress that they did not have any. We were, nevertheless, charged for the more expensive Finchers, even though we never had it. It's only £4 difference, but I expect a refund. All of the waiting staff were 100% polite, but they were not on top of the job. A man down cannot be easy, but it should not be as difficult as they made it seem. The starters were average - crab salad for one and scallops for two of us. For mains we had a whole brill between the 3 of us. My wife and son enjoyed it, whilst I thought it was tasteless. The accompanying potato and spinach dish was poor - under-cooked, hard potatoes and stewed spinach - we left it. There was also a side order of chips which were soggy and oily - we left it. All in all, it wasn't great and I wouldn't rush back.
Really lovely food and wine at reasonable price for the quality. Will be back!
Great food as always! Lovely atmosphere outside in the courtyard and v friendly staff 👍
Lovely family meal to celebrate my husband’s birthday, under the canopy. We really enjoyed our meal the service was a little slow and the appetisers arrived with the main meal but it was all delicious. We will definitely be back!!
Loved the new set up and staff were excellent. Food exceptional as always!
Wonderful place and food amazing!!!
Top-notch cooking with great ingredients and a relaxing ambience.
Had a great lunch.
We were sat at our table, ordered wine and food at the same time. We had no water or wine when our starter arrived. We asked 3 times for our drinks. Then the wrong wine was brought out so we had to wait again. Our mains came but not the side of vegetables, these arrived 5 minutes later when we had almost finished our meal. No one asked if everything was ok! Fantastic food and a pretty setting but appalling service 😢
A lovely meal, delightful setting and brilliant, friendly service! An absolute gem! Also- the best oysters I’ve had in years!
