About Lina Stores
Lina Stores is opened its new pasta restaurant on 51 Greek Street in Soho this Spring with a menu inspired by the authentic ingredients from their Brewer Street deli with a focus on their signature fresh pasta, prosciutti, cheeses and antipasti. No Italian experience is complete without traditional wines and cocktails, and desserts, like our much-loved cannoli.
It has taken me some time to write this review because I wanted to get it just right. Lina Stores deserves it. What a place! I had been told by my sister that Lina Stores was one of the best dining experiences of her life. I was impressed but left room for hyperbole. I needn't have, she was right. It was one of the best dining experiences I have had. From the Wes Anderson like decor to the mellow jazz playing in the background the ambience was just right. We were welcomed like family by the kind and friendly waiters. I was told to ask for Stani. Luckily for us Stani was working that night, our whole experience was made so much better by this genial and adorable Italian guy. Tell him the kind of things you like, he'll make some suggestions (take them - he gets it right) and you're off. The food was just sublime. To start - The Ndjua con Ricotta - a spicy spreadable sausage and creamy ricotta to balance it out. Then onto mains. 3 pastas between 2 they'll tell you, don't be put off - the prices are extremely reasonable. 'Have you tasted Tomato before?' Stani asked me as he placed the Schiaffoni con Burrata in front of me. I looked at him puzzled. He took a small amount of the sauce on my fork and offered it to me. WOW. 'Have you tasted Tomato before?' Stani asked me again with a grin on his face. There was an easy answer - 'Never like that!' So fresh and the most flavoursome sauce I have ever had. To top it all off, the Torto al Cioccolato, it may seem indulgent but it's a MUST. Grazie Stani and all at Lina Stores for a beautiful evening.
Incredible staff - friendly and very knowledgable about the menu. Atmosphere slightly strange downstairs but enjoyed all the same. The food was SO good - especially the gnudi and cannoli. Will definitely be back - thank you.
The pasta was so good we decided to have more instead of dessert!
Absolutely lovely, very snug seating though - you wouldn’t want to have a private conversation! That said we thoroughly enjoyed both the experience and the food. Pasta was delicious and my Americano mixed to perfection.
Good food. Small portions or, as described by the staff, ‘sharing’ portions. But not commensurately small prices. Nice decor. Nice people.
Food was amazing, best pasta I've ever had, will definitely be going back and would highly recommend.
We arrived at just before 5pm which was the time the table was booked and they weren't ready (not even properly open). I wouldn't normally mind but we were made to feel a bit in the way and told they wouldn't hold the table if we went and had a drink and came back. They didn't have anywhere for us to have a drink while we waited so all a bit awkward really. The service after that was fine and the food was nice but not amazing.
Just loved everything about it ❤️
Consistently amazing food & service. At times it can be loud, especially downstairs but that’s part of the experience. Would definitely return
outstanding food and the enthusiasm of the staff was a joy,
I've given a lower score for atmosphere, as unfortunately the restaurant is another that feels the need to play taped music at high volume. When your table is seated near the speakers, as our was, it's actually very unpleasant. With tables filling up quickly and others speaking loudly to make themselves heard it detracted from what was otherwise a very pleasant meal. For this reason, while I'd again take a friend or my brother to Lina Stores it wouldn't be suitable for my parents or older relatives.
Amazing! Food was delicious and great atmosphere
Genuine Italian hospitality in the middle of Soho.
The venue is too small for the amount of tables you are trying to cram in. The acoustics downstairs are terrible and I had a sore throat today from having to shout over dinner to be heard. From a fire risk point of view there are too many tables downstairs, I had to ask the table next to me to stop eating to move their table to let me out. Don’t ruin the great food and wine by being greedy with cramming in too many diners. Be unique and well respected, not desperate to make money as in the end it will backfire.
Very pleasant lunch - speedy efficient service and very friendly. Delicious pasta!
Fantastic night !
Good Italian foods and wine. Dishes are small but we could enjoy lot of different dishes so more enjoyable!
Fantastic food, best pasta in Soho!
The food was absolutely delicious, though small portions and perhaps it should be suggested that you order a number of dishes to share?
My third visit, and there will definitely be a fourth...
Excellent as always. Great food, friendly service in a buzzing restaurant. Faultless.
One of the best meals I've ever had, and a perfect anniversary dinner.
Delicious food with fresh ingredients! Favourite was definitely the truffle dish. Waiters were very observant and quick to grab attention - also prepared in explaining the dishes and recommending what to order.
Excellent food and service, but the downstairs area is very noisy. Booking is essential unless you're prepared to wait quite a while.
