About Lebowskis Edinburgh
Lebowskis offers you the very best Scotland has to offer, service is relaxed but attentive, you won't want for anything. All our food is hand-prepared from scratch with only the very best of Scottish fresh produce and simply choose from our main menus and exceptional daily special boards, and of course there's our 27 White Russian menu for dessert.
Very well looked after by friendly staff. We're very good with my dog also.
Good food, great service and fab cocktails
Such a great place, food was brilliant and worth coming just for the White Russians.
Chester was awesome.
I arranged a surprise get together for my wife’s 40th and the staff where really helpful and everything went very smooth, the food was really nice, friendly speedy service and great atmosphere, would defo go again
Food was good value and good portion, though no knife and fork provided so had to go ask. Cocktails were incredible, highly recommend drinks here. Staff very friendly and doing their best to keep up at a busy time.
Service was excellent, and food was even better!
I booked a table for Lebowskis, foolishly thinking it would be even a tiny little bit like the Lebowski bar in Reykjavik. It couldn't have been further away from that! Don't be fooled by the website that makes you think it's even slightly similar - yes, they mention White Russians and claim to make great burgers (more on that in a moment) but I was so disappointed when I walked in. Absolutely nothing themed around the Big Lebowski. The bar area was absolutely swarming and we had to push our way through to the seating area where there was a little sign on the table with our name on, but no visible staff and people sat at the table...once we had asked for our table I went to seek out a member of staff to request food menus. The young lad who served us was lovely, and the only pleasant thing (besides the beer) about the whole experience. The menu itself is basic and it was pretty clear that this was not going to be like Lebowski in Iceland. We ordered halloumi to start, and the basic burger for our main - it seemed such an obvious choice given that they claim their burgers are something special. The starter came out at the same time as the main which wasn't ideal but the halloumi was actually very nice - i don't think you can wrong with halloumi though. The burgers though. God, the burgers! Yikes. Quite possibly the worst burgers either of us has ever tried. Extremely bland, which is odd considering i could taste all of the salt & pepper they had used to try and season it, but it was so tasteless. As if that wasn't enough it was also really very dry. After 2 bites I took the burger away from the bun as I was really struggling to swallow it was that dry. I gave up before I got halfway though; my partner gave up before I did. When the waiter came over to check how the meal was we had to be honest and tell him that it wasn't very enjoyable and we wouldn't be able to finish it and he seemed genuinely concerned and was apologetic. We finished our beer as we regretted our choice of restaurant and then paid up - the waiter had taken the cost of 1 of the burgers off the bill which was a kind gesture but not enough to make me want to visit again. It appears that this place is aimed for city workers. It really has that atmosphere to it, so I'm not sure about their claims of only the best Scottish produce etc...they even advertise on the toilet doors how much they cater to the 'after work' crowd. Not a pleasant experience. As an aside, the following day we tried the Salt Horse after two separate recommendations - awesome beer, gorgeous cosy little bar and quite possibly the best burger I have ever eaten.
Wonderful cocktails, fast service and great staff!
Couple of random things , firstly when I entered pub I saw my table so sat down, then a staff member came over and rather than ask me if I had a reservation he told me I couldn't sit there. I had originally booked table for 1845 but got a call on Saturday afternoon as there had been a mistake so was asked to eat at 18:00 , this wasn't actually an issue as me and my friend were going to a wedding and after I booked it the groom specifically asked us to arrive sharp at 1930 but might have been annoying in different circumstance
Food was just ok.....the place was empty so can't comment on atmosphere. The guy who served us was lovely......the girl seemed unsure about what she was doing.
Please make it clear at time of booking that this venue is over 18 only. We enjoyed a burger with our 17 year old elsewhere.
I would just suggest to use different kind of bread for the burgers.
Sticky table, waitress dressed inappropriately for the work being undertaken, asked for a pint of juice and got a smaller glass, food was average, potato scone overcooked, hand dryers in toilets not working, toilets smelled
First time visit to Lebowski's was a huge success. Friendly & attentive staff, our servers went beyond the call of duty. Was very impressed with diverse range of drinks on offer. Food is fantastic quality and very moreish. Atmosphere was almost perfect if it had not been for some rowdy patrons sitting a few metres away from us. Other than that I will definitely be coming back to this awesome bar.
Great food and superb selection of White Russians !
It was fine but we wouldn’t visit again.
Burgers were very nice, we both really enjoyed them. We booked a table for two, well in advance, and there was indeed a small blackboard with our name on it (x2) when we arrived and when taken to our table it had one seat and one set of cutlery. Having resolved that we sat down to find that ANYTHING you put on the table stuck to it - mobile phone, wallet, glasses, elbows, plates, drinks... it just gave the impression of being really manky, maybe it was the stuff they clean(?) the tables with? The burgers were nice, but the attention to detail elsewhere - and I appreciate it's a pub not a Michelin starred joint - was poor.
No complaints about my visit. Food was great, service was good. Was quite busy when we went but still had a relaxed atmosphere, a very enjoyable visit
Service was a bit slow but overall good venue for after show.
Had pre rugby brunch here a few times as the service is speedy without being in your face and the breakfast is delicious. I've brought a few different guests with me too and never heard a bad word.
Despite being 15 mins early our table was given away, the drinks never arrived and they were only seen on the bill. Despite the festival and rugby being on the staffing was low and slow, tables were not cleared, the place was filthy - disgrace of a place.
Our table was not reserved when we arrived which created an awkward situation when asking people to move from a table to fit us in
Tasty food and attentive, friendly service.
