About Lea Marston Hotel
The Brasserie Restaurant is decorated in a smooth and understated palette of aubergine and grey and is complemented by the newly refurbished Bar 76 a new contemporary, bright space in which to relax and enjoy a leisurely cocktail or coffees before or indeed after dining.
Passionate about cookery and sourcing the very best ingredients, our head chef and his team produce seasonal a la carte menus inspired by British and modern European flavours and almost entirely local produce. In addition to our fixed price menus we also offer a selection of specials and our stunning Sunday roast – booking highly recommended.
Hathaways Bar offers a truly rustic feel with exposed beams, open fireplace and an eclectic mix of furniture. Offering real cask ales from local brewer Churchend Brewery.
Service was lacking, tables had not been cleaned (Hathaways) and good was OK.
Food was amazing. Very tasty, nice amount and dinner was piping hot
Great service, great food, lovely room & most importantly my mom who’s surprise birthday meal it was enjoyed every minute... So a big thank you to everyone involved
Spent two nights here at Crufts weekend. Room clean and comfortable. Staff very polite and friendly. Dined in Hathaways on the first night and Brasserie on the second night. Both extremely acceptable and enjoyable Whole Weekend very fairly priced Would recommend
Staff not very friendly food not all arriving at same time had finished b4 others.got theirs ran out of ribs shame not same choice of desserts on all menus
Brilliant service and lovely food, great restaurant... will come again. Thank you!
Lovely spa facilities free for guests. Enjoyed the jacuzzi and sauna. Food in the restaurant was also lovely. Had a lovely stay.
Lovely place to relax and have a meal/drink
While the food and room was excellent, I would like to point out that had we known there was a 18th party going on we wouldn’t have booked this was confirmed with a fire alarm going of at around 1.30am because of one of the party vaping inside and then excess noise within the corridor in the middle of the night
Lovely Sunday lunch
Good was very tasty put the presentation was poor. The chips served with the battered fish should perhaps be served in a separate bowl. I’d also recommend serving fewer. The presentation of the quiche and salad was also poor. A small piece of quiche on a HUGH salad, again very tasty but not really presented well. Also two girls on that day were lovely but in need of customer service training /supervision. No one came to check of our meal was ok etc and we had to ask for side orders to be bought out.
Food was excellent very good value for money we was well looked after by all the team and the manger was very friendly and welcoming he made sure we was all enjoying everything we will definitely be back
For a Valentine’s weekend the atmosphere was very subdued. The Motown tribute was the only event that Had some atmosphere. Having the sports tv on day and in both bar 76 and the Hathaways pub didn’t really sit well with theme of the weekend. Music was at its lowest volumes with the tv more prominent. Set up to fail with the wrong atmosphere. Music and either different tv channels or no tv would have created a better scene
Loved it ! Would like a larger menu choice though as food was lovely so more options would be wonderful !
We had an afternoon tea to celebrate a member of the parties birthday that day. After arriving and waiting around for 5 minutes and staff members walking past us and ignoring us we final managed to grabbed the attention of a staff member to ask where we needed to be. She walked through to another section to find out and came back to inform us the section we were originally booked in for was very busy so we would have to sit in a conservatory part. We then had to wait around while the table was being set up in front of us. Then we finally sat down ordered tea and coffee, the drinks came shortly after then we just got left alone. 35-40 minutes later our food was bought to the table after us having to wander through to reception to ask if there was any members of staff around to serve us. On the way back from the reception we walked through where we were meant to be originally be in and it was nearly empty with just 4 people sitting in there! The food was not explained to us so we had to guess what each food was. We only had one plate each to eat both sandwiches and cakes so by the time we had eaten the sandwiches which had an abundance of picalily on we couldn’t then put the scones and other cakes on the plate. We then had to get up and find a staff member again to ask for more tea spoons to eat one of the potted desserts and it was suggested to us that we should have just used the knife to eat it. Finally, the tables were being dragged from around us and into another room so we got the feeling that it was a hint for us to leave as we were in the way. We also felt like we had just been put in a corridor out of the way as the fire doors were being left open to get outside from the conservatory with leaves blowing in and groups of hotel guests were walking past constantly. So it wasn’t the most relaxing experience. We then had to find a staff member again to settle up the bill, the staff member did not know what she was doing with our voucher so we had to stand around and wait for her to return back to us again. We will certainly have memories of the afternoon tea, but probably for the wrong reasons.
Lovely food and an enjoyable evening. Too many people standing around bar area that wernt waiting to be served. Not enough choice of lager/beer. Lack of cutlery. Booking was made a week in advance but we watched the table be laid out whilst we waited and chairs and tables did not match. Just looked a bit unprofessional. Food lovely. Just needs a few finishing touches. Thank you.
Great welcome and presentation of table plan for Dad’s surprise 90th birthday celebrations. Attentive service and great food. Made us all welcome and would recommend Hathaway’s Bar (conservatory) for special occasion.
Bit chilly in restaurant with doors open both ends
Very good service in restaurant and bar 2 for 1 cocktails were great Food was very high quality
The food was excellent however the service was very slow, we were left waiting for long periods without drinks, asked if we’d like to see dessert menus before we’d received our mains and listened to the bar manager chastising staff in the middle of the restaurant. This would be a great dining experience if your staff were more attentive and on the ball.
We had 2 night stay in one of the Suites, and attended the Black Tie Dinner and Entertainment over the new year. The evening was very good but the food wasn't upto standard, a bit cold and bland. That being said, we did enjoy the entertainment and atmosphere. We were esecially impressed with Ros in Hatherways Bar, who was very friendly and attentive. Gratful if you would pass on our thanks to her. We were suprised that the suite only had one bottle of shampoo and no spare towels. Not the end of the world but we did spend a lot of money on the 2 day break. We went into the spa for a very short time as there were lot's of children, who were not being properly supervised in addition to using the sauna rooms. One of the children was spitting on the floor in the steam room, hence why we left early. The website did say that children were not allowed in during certain times, but it appears that this was wavered for the day, they were also not supposed to be in the steam or sauna rooms if under 16, but it appears this was not challenged by staff. All in all a pleasant say and would come again.
Dirty and very colf room Very outdated, cold breakfast and very over priced would not stay again.
Excellent value for money and a lovely place for a family meal. The beef was too rare though and had to go back to the kitchen for further cooking.
