About Lea Marston Hotel

The Brasserie Restaurant is decorated in a smooth and understated palette of aubergine and grey and is complemented by the newly refurbished Bar 76 a new contemporary, bright space in which to relax and enjoy a leisurely cocktail or coffees before or indeed after dining.

Passionate about cookery and sourcing the very best ingredients, our head chef and his team produce seasonal a la carte menus inspired by British and modern European flavours and almost entirely local produce. In addition to our fixed price menus we also offer a selection of specials and our stunning Sunday roast – booking highly recommended.

Hathaways Bar offers a truly rustic feel with exposed beams, open fireplace and an eclectic mix of furniture. Offering real cask ales from local brewer Churchend Brewery.

We absolutely loved our evening away at the lea Marston , great value for money , food was proper homely food , well cooked and the staff were all so friendly

Nice to have a ‘pub’ within an Hotel main problem was the quality of the food ! The bread with the terrine was rock hard , trio of cremated sausages with old hard broccoli .

Great little place, food was lovely and reasonable, staff a credit all very polite and helpful. Not so keen sitting in the restaurant facing the breakfast buffet things and not much atmosphere.. maybe some music? Other than really good well done

Rooms were outdated, on booking.com you see really nice new modern rooms but you are lucky if you get one, breakfast at 9.30 was cold and you get one of everything 1 bacon 1 sausage 1 egg 1 hash brown. Staff were Really nice, spa was good but cold. Shower was excellent best shower I’ve ever had in a hotel. Room was cold, radiator didn’t work. Golf was fantastic and great price. Nice little nine hole course with decent challenge and nicely maintained. I would stay here again too play golf but that’s it

We booked a stay, breakfast & dine offer. The dine offer was based on 3 courses. We were only served 2 of the courses. The food was cold. We also asked for Floater coffees, there was no milk, the bar attendant asked the supervisor what to do. The Supervisor advised to serve them as Irish Coffees anyway and charge full price. I was at the bar and heard this conversation. I complained on the evening to Reception (room 70). We were celebrating our 5th Wedding anniversary so very disappointed. To top the lot breakfast was poor, no scrambled eggs, no mushrooms and it was cold. To be honest I could not be bothered to complain. We are regulars at Lea Marston, family weddings, anniversaries and just general stays, but, it will be a long time before I consider staying again.

Lea Marston will always hold a special place in my heart as this is where I got married 18 years ago and we like to have a treat and stay every now and again. Unfortunately I feel the standards are slipping and things are definitely not as luxurious as they once was. I paid £155 to stay and dine In a suite. The royal suite was not worth the extra money paid it needs updating. Stained carpets, bed base and very uncomfortable lounge furniture. Bathroom however was rather nice. Hospitality tray was disappointing, no biscuits or sweetener and only a couple of milk cartons. On top of the £155 we had to pay for breakfast, which was not the best. No croissants as there usually is, even with covid I’m sure these could be served to order, tiny orange juice glasses only 1/2 full, therefore had to keep asking for a refill. There was no availability to use the pool either. Ordered a ham sandwich for lunch, was then informed they had ran out of ham. Our evening meal was just ok. All in all I didn’t feel we received value for money, defiantly not as good as it used to be. After being a customer for around 20 years I feel it’s time to to try elsewhere. Reception staff friendly and welcoming.

I booked dinner for 19:30 but was told at reception upon arrival that it had been changed to 19:00, which wasn’t a problem. Myself and my friend arrived at 19:00 and waited at the door for around 10 minutes whilst the gentleman figured out how to find my name on the reservation list. We were sat at our table for 30 minutes without service and I had to ask to order our food and drinks. It took an hour for our starters to arrive, a further hour for our mains to arrive and a further hour for our dessert to arrive. There were never any staff around and we noticed that other tables were also waiting for a long time. We had to find someone to ask for another drink.. as again the staff were no one to be seen. The food was just okay, I had profiteroles for dessert which were still frozen which wasn’t great. We finally finished our meal at 23:00 after an hour wait for each course. There were no staff around so had to find someone to sort the bill out. The breakfast in the morning was the same chaos. The little staff that were on continued to walk past a 10 person queue without seating anyone for 15 minutes. Organisation on both the evening and breakfast meal was terrible. A real let down to what we thought was a nice hotel.. we would return to stay at the hotel but definitely eat elsewhere.

On arrival there was a very unclear one way system in place so we ended up at the wrong end of the bar for service. No one advising / guiding you. When i sat down with my drink i noticed there was lipstick all around the glass. Very bad at any time but horrifying during these covid times. It was replaced when the food order was placed. Starters arrived without any cutlery or napkins. Mains arrived without the starters being cleared and again without any cutlery. No one came to check if the meal was ok. I ordered a medium rare steak but it was well done. I was so hungry I just ate it. We were going to order dessert but no one came to clear the table or ask us if we wanted dessert or coffee. Overall an extremely poor and dissatisfying experience at a 4* hotel.

Lovely meal, best tasting steak for a long time. Only issue was that the full government eat out discount was not applied, only received £11 discount on a £42 spend on food and soft drink for 2 people.

We didn’t stay for dinner as the menu was too limited, we were literally down to a choice of 3 starters. Not what I was expecting after reading the menu online prior to booking. If you can update with info on eat out help out then should should update with the very limited menu. Wasn’t impressed at all.

The service and the food were of an excellent standard as always every time I come here. My only criticism would be if you came here quite regularly the menu is so limited because of coronavirus understandably you may get fed up with the menu choices. My two friends who I came with both had starters but I didn’t because I didn’t like anything on offer. Also I was going to come for lunch and having been before know that this isn’t an option.

We had to send steak back as it wasntt hot. When i mt came back it still wasntt hot it was like warm. Very grissly and chewy. No atmosphere, no music, very disappointing evening. Total waste of money. Red wine was nice, white wine was warm. Onion tart was disappointing, just some puff pastry with caramelised onion chuckney on. Will not return ever
