About Lea Marston Hotel
The contemporary Adderley Restaurant located at Lea Marston Hotel near Sutton Coldfield, is decorated in a smooth and understated palette of aubergine and grey, providing a look and feel which, like the menu, is equally suited to refined business dining as it is to romance.
Passionate about cookery and sourcing the very best ingredients, head chef Richard Marshall and his team produce seasonal a la carte menus inspired by British and modern European flavours and almost entirely local produce. In addition to the sophistication of the a la carte, the Adderley also offers a stunning Sunday roast, already extremely popular with in the know locals.
Hathaways Bar offers a truly rustic feel with exposed beams, open fireplace and an eclectic mix of furniture. Offering real cask ales from local brewer Churchend Brewery.
Visited Hathaway’s for afternoon tea with my two sisters,we all enjoyed the experience, the food and the service.
Guest comments were you could buy the same prosecco cheaper in Asda so thought was much too expensive. The Festive Afternoon Tea was lovely.
Fab Sunday lunch brill service and support for gluten free yummy food. Def recommend
Staff attentive and eager to help. I met with 2 friends for afternoon tea it was friendly and welcoming.
Extremely disappointed with our experience.
Friendly, accommodating staff. Mostly good service (one drink we ordered failed to arrive). Delicious food, ample portions. Plenty of choice.
Booked afternoon tea as said children welcome but when we arrived the waitress didn’t know what drinks were available for children at all, she went away twice to check and we ended up checking the website and telling her they could have hot chocolate or squash. I asked about the prosecco and again she didn’t seem to know anything about it even though your website clearly advertises afternoon tea with either pimms or prosecco. It was like pulling teeth! Not a great start. The food itself was ok.. not amazing but not bad. Scones came without any jam or cream.. had to ask. Good that hot drinks were topped up quickly. However, my husband paid the bill and when we left he said it was £132 for thr group which was around 30 more than I was expecting. On checking the bill at home they have charged £18 for 2 proseccos so although I clearly asked for the deal with afternoon tea and prosecco for 2 of the adults this is not what we got. I will call and ask for refund as really not happy. Also the website advertises children at 6.50 but was charged 7.95 each. Wouldn’t come again for afternoon tea, other hotels and restaurants far superior.
Great offers keeping things real always have a pleasant time wether we stay or just dine x
The service and food was outstanding will definitely be back.
Very welcoming and friendly staff
Excellent value staff very friendly and helpful
Another great Sunday meal in a relaxing environment
A young gentlemen served afternoon tea on Thursday 25th October . He was very attentive and couldn't do enough for my fruend and I
Wasn’t much impressed by the resort. Really enjoyed the spa treatments I recieved but I couldn’t use the pool as it was full of children the food wasn’t great and I was put off my breakfast by a member of staff who really couldn’t be bothered to help. I wasn’t impressed with the overall cleanliness of the hotel room either there was do much dust around the door frame you could see it. Safe to say I won’t be going back.
The only thing I was not happy with, was that should have been given 25% off the total bill but I only received 20%, I have a gourmet card and it offers 25%, not a happy customer.....
The room was uncomfortable hot. The vegetables were very slow coming out from the kitchen. We had almost finished our meal before the parsnips came out. Likewise our request for additional roast potatoes took for ever to arrive. Waiting staff were excellent.
The service, staff, food and envionment was superb. Easy access location too.
Food was excellent. Staff were attentive and eager to please and contributed to a friendly, relaxed enviroment.
Some small glitches as new system put in place but everyone working hard to make it successful.
The Conservatory - though an excellent venue - would benefit from blinds for the glass roof. The idea of having a dozen umbrellas on the interior of the glass roof to reduce sunlight may be arty but resulted in a dozen flies and wasps landing on peoples dinner plates and in one of the guests wine glasses. The service from the staff was friendly, curteous and welcoming. The food was up to it's usual high standard and the bill was correct - which, as I'd paid a deposit, had a members discount and a free round of drinks due to our food being delayed was a welcome relief. Would I recommend it? Yes. Would I have a meal in the Conservatory/Mosquito Coast in the Summer if they still had the ludicrous umbrellas idea? No.
The tea was served way too early before the food resulting in lukewarm to cool tea by the time food had been served...the website, when booking, was misleading by using the usual afternoon tea pictures for the summer afternoon tea package, which we heard was different by a member of staff, giving the false impression of what was expected....the atmosphere was noisy, the three of us placed in the conservatory with a table of 10-12 women....and upon paying, the gentleman tried to charge me the amount of the package without the discounted offer. It wasn't until I mentioned how much it was each, that he applied the discount. For a birthday treat, we were very underwhelmed and unfortunately, we shall not be dining again.
My booking is for December not august
We haven't dined in the restaurant for many years and came across the Sunday lunch offer for the summer so decided to try it and we were very impressed. The staff were very friendly and made you feel welcome, and the food was very enjoyable.
I'm sorry I wouldn't recommend this hotel. The food was appalling some of our party had roast beef the beef taste like it was going off we had to ask for more bread rolls and butter also more sauces for the prawn cocktails. Also ran out of crackling so you offered us pork scratchings out of a packet. I've never had a meal like this. I don't feel that we will becoming back for a meal any time soon. Very up setting when it was for a 40th and a 70th birthday party
Very haphazard service.
