About Lea Marston Hotel
The contemporary Adderley Restaurant located at Lea Marston Hotel near Sutton Coldfield, is decorated in a smooth and understated palette of aubergine and grey, providing a look and feel which, like the menu, is equally suited to refined business dining as it is to romance.
Passionate about cookery and sourcing the very best ingredients, head chef Richard Marshall and his team produce seasonal a la carte menus inspired by British and modern European flavours and almost entirely local produce. In addition to the sophistication of the a la carte, the Adderley also offers a stunning Sunday roast, already extremely popular with in the know locals.
Hathaways Bar offers a truly rustic feel with exposed beams, open fireplace and an eclectic mix of furniture. Offering real cask ales from local brewer Churchend Brewery.
Lovely afternoon tea. Great value, good food.
Wonderful food, beautiful room and staff who are only too happy to help. We felt looked after from start to finish and had a wonderfully relaxing weekend. Our massages were fantastic and the spa was exactly what we both needed. The food was absolutely stunning, the cheesecake was unbelievably good. The restaurant staff at times seemed to lack organisation, but that did not affect our enjoyment. The air conditioning in the room made our stay very comfortable in the hot weather. All round a stunning experience, we will be back.
Our experience wasn’t the best really disappointed. But issues were resolved with management & that was reflected in our bill which was appreciated. But unfortunately we will not be returning.
Bar, restaurant, chef and cleaning staff very friendly, golf centre well run, but lady restaurant manager on Sunday 15th August had appalling attitude and needs retraining in a customer service industry and this ruined our celebrations and made two of us feel very uncomfortable as she continually walked passed use with a hard stare ignoring us. Chef did her apologies and was wonderful with front of house especially as that is not her job.
Mould on butter no apology, then found a hair in the milk after we had drank it ! Then had the pleasure of paying nearly £40 for it! Wouldn’t recommend will not be returning
The savoury afternoon tea was plentiful and lots of selection. Slightly disapointed with the traditonial afternoon tea only consisted of two bitesize cakes and was missing items which were advertised on the website (Choux Swan, Trifle & cheesecake) Service was slow and had to wait a long time to pay the bill.
The sandwiches were very poor 1salmon bagel between 4 ,1salmon sandwich between 4,2 finger sandwich & the scones were very small it was very disappointing as it was treat for a friend who retired from catering after 33 yrs . I hope this will improve for future customers.
Went for my husband's birthday. Food was good but service needed some polish. Staff were friendly but a little disorganised ~e. g. took meal order before drinks, then slow to serve drinks, asked if I wanted a glass for my bottle of peroni (it should have been automatic in a good restaurant), we had to ask for the wine list, didnt ask if we wanted side orders with our main course (so we had none as they weren't included). Layout was a bit awkward - there was a wedding reception at the time but guests seemed to have to keep walking through the restaurant to move between rooms.
Good meal with great staff. Booked a stay with 2 course evening meal however the menu price on the day would have been cheaper than the pre-booked price!
Afternoon tea was ok. Staff were great for the entire stay and hotel is lovely and comfortable. Sandwiches were not great but scones and desserts were lovely.
Food was quite commercial and easy to find in any other afternoon tea.
Lovely food, attentive waitering staff and efficient service. Only negative was there was no condiments on the table so had to ask for them
Great service and food Right from front of house taking us through not just saying down there,to the waiter that served us. Will definately be back
The restaurant staff were incredibly professional and the quality of food was extremely high.
Staff could have been more attentive. I asked for a further pot of tea but it did not appear!
We had the afternoon tea with prosecco as part of our secret escapes package. The food and drink was really nice, a great selection of cakes/desserts. The atmosphere was a little odd, having radio 2 on quite loudly was a bit annoying and didn't suit the setting
Pillow cases too short which expose cover underneath - not very hygienic!
We went for our wedding sample meal and was overwhelmed with how creative the chef was, he put a lot of effort into making our meal exactly how we wanted it. Special mention to Hannah who looked after us she was a pleasure :)
Unfortunately the service at our afternoon tea was very poor. We were put in a separate room which was great for our table of 12. However, this seemed to mean we were forgotten about! Our table was booked for 2pm and when I asked at the bar about our food at 2:40pm I was told by a man- "Well there's a lot to plate up"- which I appreciated but obviously you knew our booking of 12 was coming. I asked a lady on my arrival for a menu to confirm what was on the sweet and savoury afternoon tea but was advised that there wasn't a menu- this seemed strange? When I questioned what was on the savoury menu, I was told there were pies. No pies arrived. One of the group questioned this with them- then some time later toast and pate arrived. Unfortunately most of us had started on our sweets by then. And pate is very different to pie! Very disappointing. I paid a £55 deposit upon booking and at the end I asked to have this put back on my card, so then everyone could pay for their own but was told I wasn't allowed. Why?.
Afternoon Tea was lovely, lots of selection and quality food. Best tea I’ve had! Definitely would return
A varied and tasty menu. Food came out quickly but was really fresh. Would definitely eat here again even if I wasn’t a spa or hotel guest. Friendly service with a smile
Although we had a large party of 22 to celebrate my 65th birthday the meals all came together and the time between clearing one course away and the next one coming was not very long.
The food was fine - but the desert menu never arrived. Prices seemed fair for the location. The cocktail were frankly awful and when you only have a handful of cocktails - I would expect you to have the ingredients! A raspberry Bellini just doesn't work. The wine choice was poor and the wine by the glass again was terrible. The pub empties quite early - so lacks atmosphere. Finally the settees are not comfy at all! The staff on the whole are well trained and provide good service
great spa and pool facilities . Excellent food.Good room. Our room had a torn towel! The tear was very large. I took the badly torn towel to reception where it was replaced, with a stained one!
Slightly disappointed by the slow service, afternoon tea booked for 4pm but we didn’t have any food until 5pm, there was a wedding on and they did explain there had a been “a rush on”. Food was excellent when it came.
