About Lea Marston Hotel
The contemporary Adderley Restaurant located at Lea Marston Hotel near Sutton Coldfield, is decorated in a smooth and understated palette of aubergine and grey, providing a look and feel which, like the menu, is equally suited to refined business dining as it is to romance.
Passionate about cookery and sourcing the very best ingredients, head chef Richard Marshall and his team produce seasonal a la carte menus inspired by British and modern European flavours and almost entirely local produce. In addition to the sophistication of the a la carte, the Adderley also offers a stunning Sunday roast, already extremely popular with in the know locals.
Hathaways Bar offers a truly rustic feel with exposed beams, open fireplace and an eclectic mix of furniture. Offering real cask ales from local brewer Churchend Brewery.
The room was uncomfortable hot. The vegetables were very slow coming out from the kitchen. We had almost finished our meal before the parsnips came out. Likewise our request for additional roast potatoes took for ever to arrive. Waiting staff were excellent.
The service, staff, food and envionment was superb. Easy access location too.
Food was excellent. Staff were attentive and eager to please and contributed to a friendly, relaxed enviroment.
Some small glitches as new system put in place but everyone working hard to make it successful.
The Conservatory - though an excellent venue - would benefit from blinds for the glass roof. The idea of having a dozen umbrellas on the interior of the glass roof to reduce sunlight may be arty but resulted in a dozen flies and wasps landing on peoples dinner plates and in one of the guests wine glasses. The service from the staff was friendly, curteous and welcoming. The food was up to it's usual high standard and the bill was correct - which, as I'd paid a deposit, had a members discount and a free round of drinks due to our food being delayed was a welcome relief. Would I recommend it? Yes. Would I have a meal in the Conservatory/Mosquito Coast in the Summer if they still had the ludicrous umbrellas idea? No.
The tea was served way too early before the food resulting in lukewarm to cool tea by the time food had been served...the website, when booking, was misleading by using the usual afternoon tea pictures for the summer afternoon tea package, which we heard was different by a member of staff, giving the false impression of what was expected....the atmosphere was noisy, the three of us placed in the conservatory with a table of 10-12 women....and upon paying, the gentleman tried to charge me the amount of the package without the discounted offer. It wasn't until I mentioned how much it was each, that he applied the discount. For a birthday treat, we were very underwhelmed and unfortunately, we shall not be dining again.
My booking is for December not august
We haven't dined in the restaurant for many years and came across the Sunday lunch offer for the summer so decided to try it and we were very impressed. The staff were very friendly and made you feel welcome, and the food was very enjoyable.
I'm sorry I wouldn't recommend this hotel. The food was appalling some of our party had roast beef the beef taste like it was going off we had to ask for more bread rolls and butter also more sauces for the prawn cocktails. Also ran out of crackling so you offered us pork scratchings out of a packet. I've never had a meal like this. I don't feel that we will becoming back for a meal any time soon. Very up setting when it was for a 40th and a 70th birthday party
Very haphazard service.
Lovely afternoon tea. Great value, good food.
Wonderful food, beautiful room and staff who are only too happy to help. We felt looked after from start to finish and had a wonderfully relaxing weekend. Our massages were fantastic and the spa was exactly what we both needed. The food was absolutely stunning, the cheesecake was unbelievably good. The restaurant staff at times seemed to lack organisation, but that did not affect our enjoyment. The air conditioning in the room made our stay very comfortable in the hot weather. All round a stunning experience, we will be back.
Our experience wasn’t the best really disappointed. But issues were resolved with management & that was reflected in our bill which was appreciated. But unfortunately we will not be returning.
Bar, restaurant, chef and cleaning staff very friendly, golf centre well run, but lady restaurant manager on Sunday 15th August had appalling attitude and needs retraining in a customer service industry and this ruined our celebrations and made two of us feel very uncomfortable as she continually walked passed use with a hard stare ignoring us. Chef did her apologies and was wonderful with front of house especially as that is not her job.
Mould on butter no apology, then found a hair in the milk after we had drank it ! Then had the pleasure of paying nearly £40 for it! Wouldn’t recommend will not be returning
The savoury afternoon tea was plentiful and lots of selection. Slightly disapointed with the traditonial afternoon tea only consisted of two bitesize cakes and was missing items which were advertised on the website (Choux Swan, Trifle & cheesecake) Service was slow and had to wait a long time to pay the bill.
The sandwiches were very poor 1salmon bagel between 4 ,1salmon sandwich between 4,2 finger sandwich & the scones were very small it was very disappointing as it was treat for a friend who retired from catering after 33 yrs . I hope this will improve for future customers.
Went for my husband's birthday. Food was good but service needed some polish. Staff were friendly but a little disorganised ~e. g. took meal order before drinks, then slow to serve drinks, asked if I wanted a glass for my bottle of peroni (it should have been automatic in a good restaurant), we had to ask for the wine list, didnt ask if we wanted side orders with our main course (so we had none as they weren't included). Layout was a bit awkward - there was a wedding reception at the time but guests seemed to have to keep walking through the restaurant to move between rooms.
Good meal with great staff. Booked a stay with 2 course evening meal however the menu price on the day would have been cheaper than the pre-booked price!
Afternoon tea was ok. Staff were great for the entire stay and hotel is lovely and comfortable. Sandwiches were not great but scones and desserts were lovely.
Food was quite commercial and easy to find in any other afternoon tea.
Lovely food, attentive waitering staff and efficient service. Only negative was there was no condiments on the table so had to ask for them
Great service and food Right from front of house taking us through not just saying down there,to the waiter that served us. Will definately be back
The restaurant staff were incredibly professional and the quality of food was extremely high.
Staff could have been more attentive. I asked for a further pot of tea but it did not appear!
