About LEAF on Portland Street
LEAF on Portland Street is nestled in a vibrant neighborhood in the very centre of the bustling city. Housed in the iconic former Riba and Cube gallery, it is an inspiring and intimate space, bringing the very best food, tea, music and good times to Manchester.
Had a great time, the food was good, the staff were attentive and pleasant. Worth a visit.
Nice staff and really enjoy the night
Great food and quick service from pleasant staff!
The hot chocolate was like warm and we had to get attention to order and to pay. Just didn’t live up to my expectations unfortunately
Whilst the menu caters for vegetarian and vegans, we were very disappointed that our food arrived cold. My eggs were lukewarm at best, but my broccoli was stone cold. There was also an event on that flooded out into the restaurant and was very noisy. Always heard good things but I don't think we'll be going back in a hurry.
The staff were really friendly, helpful and made the whole event enjoyable.
Lovely brunch with great service. Restaurant was very clean with a good vibe
Thank you again for helping us have a great birthday!
Great service on the day and in advance via email with Tom. All staff were very helpful, attentive and friendly. We were a big booking but everyone was very happy with the quality of food and the overall experience.
The worse afternoon tea experience ever. Terrible service. Staff really couldn’t be bothered to provide any level of service. Ordered vegetarian option in advance. No vegetarian option provided. No explanation as to food provided. Just Dumped and ran. In these days of establishments being concerned about food allergies- staff showed no such knowledge or interest. Had to go to bar to get tea after half an hour of being ignored. Freezing cold room. Laughable tea talk with lady whispering while booming club tunes were pumped out. Truly terrible experience.
Had a great afternoon tea with the girls on sat afternoon . Didn’t realise it included a ‘tea talk’ which is amazing value considering we tried as many teas as wanted. The gentleman doing the talk was helpful, friendly and certainly knew his teas! For £16.95 I’ll definitely be back :) On a side note as well, I was accidentally given a box of teas instead of a tea pot at the till. I’m not from Manchester so the supervisor Chris kindly posted the tea pot out to me ! Great service really !
Thank you for accommodating us. I assumed it was open all night and I was wrong but you stayed open until we finished. Thank you. :)
Excellent service and food.
Arranged for a large group to visit Leaf mid afternoon- people wanted a variety of food - sweet and savoury - and drinks. After a slightly slow start all the drinks and food arrived promptly and at the end everyone was able to pay separately and easily. Thank you.
Absolutely brilliant place. Extremely accommodating.
Great place. Good food and drink
absolutely love leaf!
Lovely atmosphere with friendly accommodating staff!
Fantastic food and service. There was no rush to get us out and we were made to feel at home which was lovely as it was my birthday.
The food is always excellent, but today I found the service to be slow and unpersonable - it is a quirky restaurant so I feel that staff should fit the vibe a little bit more. We also had a long wait for drinks and also fairly long for our food to arrive.
Lots of seating, quick service although was fairly quiet. Nice varied menu. Would visit again.
Really happy with everything from start to finish.
The food was lovely but took us 45 mins to get it as ours had been missed off! Although we did get out drinks for free because of this
Great service and place.
Fantastic service and food for a large group. Reasonably priced and great space for a party! Thank you!
