About Lavenham Greyhound
Join us for hand picked wines, great beer and a lovely selection of bar nibbles.
Lovely food. Efficient service. Friendly and helpful staff. We WILL definitely be back.
As with last month we had the Sunday roast. I wasn't happy about the new way of serving it when we came last month, but we thought we'd give it a go again to see if our feedback had been noted and if it would be as good as it had been in the past. Sadly not. The beef was half fat which left a lot of waste, with amongst other things, boiled parsnips and a mass of wilted greens. This is not what we have come to expect from The Greyhound, and would not expect to pay pennies off £20 for that meal. Prior to this we got roasted roots, cauliflower gratin, spiced red cabbage and some mixed greens nicely cooked, all ready for us to serve ourselves. Until the summer menu comes out we'll be eating elsewhere for our Sunday roast.
Very enjoyable and relaxing Sunday lunch. Would highly recommend.
I’m so sorry to post this review as I am a real advocate of all of the restaurants in this group but this was a special Birthday celebration, we’d emailed ahead with some food requests as one in our group is severely GF and there was no evident preparation for this. It was a very busy Saturday but we waited a good haff an hour before even being offered drinks, the cake with sparkler (or similar) that I’d requested weeks in advance never appeared & the portion sizes were really mean (& I’m not a big eater!). In fact one of our party had 4 prawns as her main course. To be fair, we mentioned this at the time and the wine was taken off of the bill plus a % knocked off the total too by a pleasant if childlike chap. Sorry again but I just had to say something because it used to be great here, and I mean great. Not sure what’s gone wrong but hopefully things will get resolved and The Greyhound will soon be back to its excellent self.
lovely relaxed atmosphere -just carry on doing what you already know
We enjoyed a lovely evening at the Greyhound in Lavenham. The food and service was brilliant. The staff were extremely warm and friendly , it was clear they all enjoyed working together. We will be back when we next visit Lavenham.
Lovely friendly staff and delicious food. Ery welcoming and accommodating. This was our second visit and both times have been great. The food is a wee bit on the expensive side.
Exceptional Food Lovely Atmosphere We’ll be back soon
We had a very nice lunch with good friends. Thank you :)
really enjoyed my visit to the greyhound-nice welcome and great surroundings will definately be going again!
A good,friendly place to be.
Good food, excellent range of drinks, relaxing atmosphere, outstanding service - a very pleasant evening.
We have been to the Greyhound on various occasions & found both food & service very good.. Gill Coombes
Fantastic, don’t need to say more
We had a great time . Food was good and very atmospheric. Would we go again??? Yes we would.
We enjoyed a very tasty and reasonably priced Boxing Day lunch at the Greyhound. They didn’t bump up their prices for the day unlike other some other pubs due to the seasonal day. A good atmosphere and good friendly service. Will definitely return.
Lovely service thank you. Thought the tiger prawn dish with yum soup was stunning.
Disappointing visit to The Lavenham Greyhound unfortunately. Food quality was not up to standard. Would have expected better considering the cost.
Outstanding food, very attentive staff. Lovely surroundings. We all had a great night
Many thanks to Georgie.
Good food, pleasant ambience, good service - thank you.
Great lunch as usual Thank you
Great enviroment, friendly staff and excellent food!
Lovely roast dinner (one beef and one chicken). Disappointed with the puddings though. Not much choice, my niece chose the chocolate pudding but wasn’t that impressed and I opted for the petit fours and a tea - which was basically 3 chocolates and cost £6.
Once again a great meal in s great place with great service ....will be back soon
