About Manor House at Mount Juliet Estate
Lady Helen McCalmont, the previous owner of Mount Juliet, was a superb hostess, who oversaw the gardens and kitchens with a kindly but firm hand. We believe she would have been delighted to know we have maintained her standards, and that the restaurant bearing her name also bears a Michelin Star, along with four AA Rosettes.
Our internationally-themed menu consists of dishes made using local ingredients, including many from our own kitchen garden, herb garden and farm. The atmosphere of opulence within the Lady Helen Restaurant complements the pastoral views out over the pastures to the River Nore, racing its way south to Inistioge.
A truly fabulous dining experience on all levels. From truly fabulous bread which is seldom found and also to be asked if more was required was superb. Both presentation and quality of food was stunning and staff couldn’t be more helpful and yet not over the top. Thanks to all
Had a fabulous time!
I booked in for afternoon tea including 1 child, the food was amazing. Everything was so tasty and presented so well! It really had the wow factor when it was dropped to the table. My nephews words when he got served the kids afternoon tea was 'this is the best day ever'. The service was top notch also, we offered extra tea/coffee etc. Compliments to the chefs and the waiting staff! Highly recommend.
We had a very enjoyable evening. The food was superb and the service faultless. The staff were extremely attentive without being fussed over. It made for a lovely atmospehere. I will definately return.
Wonderful experience to celebrate my friends birthday. The staff went that extra mile for it.
The food was absolutely amazing please give our compliments to the wonderful chef
Had a wonderful stay staff are very helpful and courteous my only thing I could say for the price some and I only mean some could do with more training to 5 star level. The horse riding on the estate was my favourite even though it was my first time ever doing it I think there could be more emphasis on selling the activities for such great facilities. All in all had a great stay. Special word to des and shauna in the equestrian centre for being such great help and knowledge will definite be promoting it.
Afternoon tea in the Manor House at Mount Juliet was fantastic. The selection of food was presented beautifully and extremely flavoursome. Our table was in a window arch so there were beautiful views of the river and horses grazing in the fields. Staff were friendly and attentive, atmosphere was superb.
Very relaxed surroundings, food was lovely, highly recommend.
The staff members went out of their way to make our stay pleasant and comfortable. Dinner in the Lady Helen dining room was memorable as always.
The house was beautiful abd we really enjoyed are stay but we slept terrible. The double room in which we were placed had the smallest double bed I've ever slept in. Whilst even both being slim, my husband and I had to sleep in the same position all night for fear of falling out. For the price paid for the room I was very disappointed with that.
Super food ( including vegetarian options), good service in a fabulous location, it’s not for the feint hearted from a budget perspective
In these covid times any thought of foreign travel has had to be postponed. In light of the pandemic statistics worldwide, to be able to consider a holiday at all, is a considerable privilege. So to be able to experience what was an exceptional evening at Mount Juliet manor was not something we underestimated. The word exceptional from the time we arrived to when we left was something we continuously expressed. A huge thank you to the talented and professional staff who carried out their duties in constrained circumstances with great aplomb. We salute you and this evening will remain with us until we return, we hope, in better times for everyone.
The best afternoon tea I’ve had, delicious, great service and beautiful room with river view. Will definitely come back.
A magnificent dining experience. Wine steward Jonathan was very engaging and provided excellent advice on wine choices. The vegetarian menu given just as much thought, care and attention to detail as fish and meats with impeccable service from Aga and the team.
Sat 24 August - had drink in bar beforehand. Staff friendly but reception room was not as clean/ welcoming (glasses on tables and generally unkempt)as one would expect from this type of establishment. Food was generally speaking excellent. It was a relatively quiet service but there was a lot of noticeable issues that should not be present in a Michelin experience. My wife was presented with wrong course. Whilst tasty the meat course was not the easiest to cut through. Had to request dessert cutlery settings. With the exception of the Sommelier, who was excellent, service was generally speaking average. I would like to think the issues were due to it being a quite service and more relaxed approach than anything more fundamental
Unfortunately I fell ill during dinner and the restaurant staff particularly Nicola and John the driver were exceptionally helpful and attentive, I cannot fault their professionalism and courtesy.
Food was excellent. Staff working very hard. The staff should not appear to be in such a rush in a fine dining restaurant.
We truly enjoyed our dinner at Lady Helen Restaurant. The food was amazing, fantastic atmosphere & great staff ! I would Highly recommend it
Lovely food in elegant surroundings with spectacular garden and river views!
4 emails to your reservation email went unanswered. I ended up calling directly and even then it took 3 calls.qqqqqqqqq
I got engaged during the stay. Everything was great and the people here are so friendly. We will be back here every summer then.
Fantastic experience. We have stayed in Mount Juliet, Hunters Yard on a few occasions and always have a wonderful time. This was our first experience the staying in the Manor House and it was out of this world. The staff are excellent, courteous and professional. They managed the COVID restrictions very well without it impacting on the experience. We will be back again and look forward to it.
Felt very comfortable and safe in our surroundings for Afternoon Tea, the staff were very professional, approachable and helpful. Will recommend to family and friends. The selection for Afternoon Tea was really wonderful. Well done Mount Juliet
Breakfast was very efficient and well run, lovely setting for breakfast that fits in nicely with the atmosphere of the house. Staff are noticeably more attentive and better trained than what we experienced in the Hound, both for breakfast and dinner.
