About Manor House at Mount Juliet Estate
Lady Helen McCalmont, the previous owner of Mount Juliet, was a superb hostess, who oversaw the gardens and kitchens with a kindly but firm hand. We believe she would have been delighted to know we have maintained her standards, and that the restaurant bearing her name also bears a Michelin Star, along with four AA Rosettes.
Our internationally-themed menu consists of dishes made using local ingredients, including many from our own kitchen garden, herb garden and farm. The atmosphere of opulence within the Lady Helen Restaurant complements the pastoral views out over the pastures to the River Nore, racing its way south to Inistioge.
Fabulous night with amazing food.
Wonderful ...thank you to a terrific team & especially to the Chef who obliged us with an off the menu choice Number of years since had been back but as good as the memories !
Wonderful evening. Only one small issue- I wish the fires had been lit as opposed to a candle in the fireplace My husband and I had afternoon tea at Mount Juliet previously and it too was superb. Thank you, we hope to return.
Lovely setting in the beautiful Manor House. Very helpful and attentive staff. The menu choice was disappointing in that it was very limited, particularly for anyone who is unable to eat fish. Very good quality food but rather expensive.
Wonderful experience, superb food and excellent service
The food was extremely expensive for what it was. The service was ok but nothing exceptional, nothing that screams 5 stars to us. Waiter on the phone when we arrived in the hound without excusing himself, waitress this morning with mask under her nose serving us breakfast, coffee and toast arrived when we had our breakfast finished, a disappointing experience really.
Wonderful friendly service in a lovely old estate, especially Des the most knowledgeable, genuine & welcoming host! Dinner and food were good but quite expensive since the Michelin star restaurant was closed. Jean Baptiste also excellent wine waiter. Water in the pool was cold and some items not working properly, needs a bit of refurbishment. Also bedrooms fixtures and fittings. Otherwise well worth the return visit & delightful & enthusiastic staff!
We had lunch in the manor house on the day we arrived for our 1 night stay, in sept 2020 it was a very tasty lunch, it was what you expect from a manor house beautiful decoration and views, staff were very pleasant and very good service, plenty of places and menus to choose from at mount Juliet, our lunch was in the manor house and dinner in the hound restaurant and our second day lunch in the clubhouse, we couldnt fault anything, looking forward to our trip in November again this year for my birthday
Lady Helens restaurant staff were excellent & knowledgable. All other staff were ok at best, a lot of juniors with little training but trying there best .
Wonderful location, wonderful room, amazing food, sommelier and server were excellent, personable and informative. 5 stars
We had a magical time at the Manor House. Very relaxing,it is everything you need for a short break. Wonderful food at the Lady Helen. Rooms beautiful and spacious. We will absolutely return. M Gallivan
A truly fabulous dining experience on all levels. From truly fabulous bread which is seldom found and also to be asked if more was required was superb. Both presentation and quality of food was stunning and staff couldn’t be more helpful and yet not over the top. Thanks to all
Had a fabulous time!
I booked in for afternoon tea including 1 child, the food was amazing. Everything was so tasty and presented so well! It really had the wow factor when it was dropped to the table. My nephews words when he got served the kids afternoon tea was 'this is the best day ever'. The service was top notch also, we offered extra tea/coffee etc. Compliments to the chefs and the waiting staff! Highly recommend.
We had a very enjoyable evening. The food was superb and the service faultless. The staff were extremely attentive without being fussed over. It made for a lovely atmospehere. I will definately return.
Wonderful experience to celebrate my friends birthday. The staff went that extra mile for it.
The food was absolutely amazing please give our compliments to the wonderful chef
Had a wonderful stay staff are very helpful and courteous my only thing I could say for the price some and I only mean some could do with more training to 5 star level. The horse riding on the estate was my favourite even though it was my first time ever doing it I think there could be more emphasis on selling the activities for such great facilities. All in all had a great stay. Special word to des and shauna in the equestrian centre for being such great help and knowledge will definite be promoting it.
Afternoon tea in the Manor House at Mount Juliet was fantastic. The selection of food was presented beautifully and extremely flavoursome. Our table was in a window arch so there were beautiful views of the river and horses grazing in the fields. Staff were friendly and attentive, atmosphere was superb.
Very relaxed surroundings, food was lovely, highly recommend.
The staff members went out of their way to make our stay pleasant and comfortable. Dinner in the Lady Helen dining room was memorable as always.
The house was beautiful abd we really enjoyed are stay but we slept terrible. The double room in which we were placed had the smallest double bed I've ever slept in. Whilst even both being slim, my husband and I had to sleep in the same position all night for fear of falling out. For the price paid for the room I was very disappointed with that.
Super food ( including vegetarian options), good service in a fabulous location, it’s not for the feint hearted from a budget perspective
