About Manor House at Mount Juliet Estate
Lady Helen McCalmont, the previous owner of Mount Juliet, was a superb hostess, who oversaw the gardens and kitchens with a kindly but firm hand. We believe she would have been delighted to know we have maintained her standards, and that the restaurant bearing her name also bears a Michelin Star, along with three AA Rosettes.
Our internationally-themed menu consists of dishes made using local ingredients, including many from our own kitchen garden, herb garden and farm. The atmosphere of opulence within the Lady Helen Restaurant complements the pastoral views out over the pastures to the River Nore, racing its way south to Inistioge.
Not as relaxing or enjoyable as our previous visit and not good value for money.
I ordered the duck leg for dinner and it was so dry and the whole dish lacked flavour, it was like it had been cooked the day before and reheated...I had to drink over half a bottle of water with it. Also, This morning I ordered breakfast and got a call back over 20 mins later to say there was no boxty...so waited another 15/20 for breakfast...not good enough considering the hotel was running at about 60% capacity. Was really not impressed with the room for what was the presidential suite...creeky floorboards, room too dated for the price. No sport channels on bar TV or in room. The golf course was top class and would highly recommend a round here.

our family group stayed for the weekend as a special birthday celebration. it was a wonderful experience - great staff who were attentive without being obtrusive, a warm comfortable environment, great food and comfy beds! John the falconer was great hit with everybody and the archery brought out the competitive spirit! We forgot to collect the remains of our birthday cake but hopefully others enjoyed it as much as we did. We will be back!

This is probably the worst customer service experience I have had in a hotel in Ireland. Upon arrival, we noticed a sign that the leisure facilities were closed and would not be available for our stay. I had my 15 month old niece with me, and the leisure facilities were the number one reason we had picked Mount Juliet. I find it completely unacceptable that we were not informed before our arrival that the leisure facilities would be closed during our stay. I made the manager aware of how much this impacted our stay and that I was very disappointed that we had not been made aware. The strange thing was, was that I was contacted a couple of days before we arrived to confirm our booking. The person who called me, didn’t actually have the full details of my booking, that we had booked afternoon tea etc, but it didn’t perturb me. In hindsight, that would have been the perfect time to mention the leisure facility closure, but it was not mentioned. We had a couple of additional issues with our room, which I ordinarily wouldn’t mention but I am so put out by how our stay was not what I had paid for that I feel the need to draw attention to all of the negatives of our stay. We had a minor issue with the fridge in our room which didn’t work, I logged it as an issue and it was not fixed. Also, the flush on the toilet did not work. The above issues are not issues I would normally raise but when you add them to how poorly management dealt with our main complaint, I feel the need to point them out. My main issue is not that the facilities were unavailable, but how the situation was managed by management. I made my position very clear to the manager on arrival. I would have expected that the manager would have spoken to us before checkout but no attempt was made. On checkout, the manager was no where to be seen and a very measly reduction had been applied to our bill. To put it in context, we had three spa treatments booked, two of which we cancelled because we had to leave the estate in search of entertainment for my niece, as the weather was bad which ruled out the playground, there was obviously no pool available and no indoor children’s playroom. I requested Alan call me once he arrived to work, after our departure at 11am this morning, which has not happened. I am beyond disappointed with our stay in Mount Juliet and I will not be rushing back as a result.

A wonderful stay. The staff were all very friendly and the golf and spa were lovely as was the decor in the hotel and the breakfast was gorgeous with a great selection. However the hotel was understaffed in the Lady Helen. We and a couple of other tables had to waive to the waitresses to get their attention for requests to the table. The tap water in the Lady Helen had a horrendous taste also.
Mount Juliet is stunning and one of our favourite places!

Afternoon tea was delicious and all the staff were so lovely and attentive. Manor House had a lovely snug atmosphere and we had a table in the window with a lovely view. Will definitely be back again.
Fantastic staff, who couldn’t do enough, and whose attitude made us feel very welcome, especially after they had just finished a very busy Christmas season, special kudos to Valerie in the treatment rooms who, gave a fantastic reflexology treatment.
Booked a table in the Hound Bar, arrived 2 minutes before our reservation at 12:30, the staff were still cleaning up and getting set up, and kitchen staff were scurrying over and back bringing produce into the kitchen through the bar from the storage area. Upon arrival was told we were 'early' (arrived at 12:28 for our 12:30 booking) and the restaurant wasn't open yet but we could take a seat and someone would be over to take our order. I ordered the steak sandwich and my wife ordered a salad. The steak sandwich was akin to something you would get in a caf, hard crusty baguette with some steak strips and salad leaves in between. My wife commented that the salad was 'fine'. Overall a VERY disappointing experience, certainly not in keeping with a 5 star resort, and not something i would recommend
Beautiful hotel everything was perfect.
We had a fantastic night at the Mount Juliet resort and greatly enjoyed the archery. We felt the hotels spa and pool facilities let them down. The changing rooms were tiny with two small benches, The pool didn't feel the cleanest and you have to request the hydro pumps to be turned on at reception which was not convenient as the pumps are the far side of the pool. the grounds and walks on the estate are very picturesque and provide great exercise. We ate in the lady helen restaurant and the food was nothing but excellent. I would definitely recommend.
As always our short break was an ideal way to get over the Christmas madness.
Great experience. Room was warm and spacious, service was attentive and food was very flavourful. Michelin star well deserved.
