Food bland and of poor quality, seafood pasta had hardly any seafood and was very dry. Felt like a canteen, not what you would expect from a 5 star hotel
Beautiful meal, with great service.!
Wrong thing serves for starter. When main arrived it was tasteless and the seafood pasta dish had 4 prawns, 1 scallop and 3 mussels and no flavour. Sent back and was replaced
Staff were very helpful and friendly from start to finish food was fab would highly recommend and will certainly be back.
Way below standard I would expect from quality hotel
Very disappointed on my recent visit, seafood linguine did not contain the ingredients listed on menu, king prawns were more like shrimps, no clams, mussels were tiny and one scallop. My husbands cod dish was also very poor, a very small thin piece of fish which did not look like cod.
Staff are friendly and provided a great dining experience , excellent choice of good quality fresh food.
Service was very good, staff attentive and willing to assist, food was nice but average, I enjoyed my dinner but was not “wowed” felt it was very overpriced for what we had which is why I do not feel it was good value - £13 for a risotto which is resonate however £6 to add in chicken was very overpriced for me. Calamari was average , could have been presented better and not worth £9. Overall good experience but food far to overpriced.
Service and food were fabulous!!
Friendly,attentive staff. Lovely food.
Food and service were excellent. The only thing I will comment on was the Parma Ham pizza...it had no tomato sauce on it. Every pizza should have a sauce on the base. We actually heard another family make the same comment when we were sat at the outside bar after dinner.
Brilliant, friendly service but the food was mediocre. Vegetarian lasagne was loaded far too heavily with cheese and other dishes were average
Excellent service and food although not much atmosphere due to the difficult covid rules but the staff went above and beyond to make us feel covid save.
Friendly helpful staff ...
Very difficult to make any restaurant atmospheric when the tables are socially distanced and people are walking about in masks ( and there is no alcohol) but we had a lovely night. Staff were fantastic.
Totally disappointed and unprofessional. We booked a table at La Cucina, The Fairmont Hotel, St Andrews days prior to arriving at the gate by taxi for an anniversary of when myself and my wife met. We had looked forward to visiting and enjoying some fine Italian dining and were excited at what delights would lay in store for us as we travelled the three hour journey and checked into our accommodation in the town. Our taxi driver from our accommodation to the Fairmont was somewhat puzzled at our request and asked if we had booked. “Yes, of course online, we received an acknowledgment of our booking and my wife even call them on our long journey down to St Andrews to confirm.” So being a rather tired individual and now hungry not to mention my wife who was similar and dressed up to the nines we headed to the main gate of the Fairmont to be told there was a Golf Tournament on and the whole site was locked down to keep a special golfers “bubble” in place. This was explained to us by a medic/ security wanna-be at the main gate who after refusing our taxi driver entry (who himself was a little surprised at our destination for dinner, knowing about the tournament) the day-glow vested gentleman then wrenched the door of the taxi open to speak to us in the back of the vehicle where we wear seated. We were told no entry was allowed due to the tournament, there shouldn’t of been a booking made, asked if were we anything to do with the golfing ‘scene’...again. And then the importance of the Golfers ‘bubble’ again. At this point I found my self somewhat irate at the lonesome ‘Lone Ranger‘ stood there in the doorway of the open taxi door, myself unable to get a word in until I managed one simple sentence of five words. The question was simple to understand and one that someone who was a professional and worried about the elite sporting golfers bubble would simply of complied with yet my words seemed to bounce off this gentlemen like a driven golf ball off a links course green. “Put your mask on mate”, as wearing it under your chin doesn’t work and he potentially infected himself and the site or even us. We then called La Cucina and were told that we could not dine there that evening. Might of helped us days before to inform us of a golf tournament, maybe even as we travelled the length of Scotland that day. As it was into the evening we could not find another restaurant to dine at. We enjoyed a sub standard takeaway pizza in our room and left early the next morning. Not quite the standard or professionalism I expect from Fairmont Hotels and Resorts.
Lovely meal. Good service
The team did an amazing job and kept us informed the whole evening if things got a little delayed. Even got some special chocolate treats at the end of meal. Thanks so much everyone
Extensive menu with a great choice of food. Wine/drinks menu was excellent also. We meal we all had was very good. Fantastic service .
Great meal & drinks- no issues with the Covid restrictions.
Very accommodating and excellent friendly staff
Excellent service! Gluten free is always difficult but wasn’t amazing, so I have sympathy with that. Staff very helpful
Service was excellent. Staff friendly and attentive. No complaints at all.
Our 2 pasta dishes were poor.
Dined here with my mum and young son. The staff were lovely, bubbly, attentive and very kind. They made the night special for us. The food was out of this world the colours and flavours on the plates were a beautifully vibrant dance of taste for the eyes and mouth. The atmosphere was calm, warm and inviting. I couldnt have asked for anything more. Such a lovely experience. We will be back in the future. Wonderful restaurant in a spectacular hotel, in a gorgeous scenic location. Thank you so much.
