About La Choza Western Rd
La Choza an authentic award Mexican street food restaurant drinks
Western Road venue was great. Food was lush. Staff were really amazing - helpful, friendly, just ace! No real ale / proper beer on menu (admittedly not very Mexican but only chemical lagers not good choice) . Only gripe is that the map was wrong. We’d got a taxi there and got dropped off at end of Brunswick Place. Restaurant is much further west on Western Road. Seems like a bit of a gaffe on the website?
My first time at La Choza and I wasn't disappointed. I really enjoyed the food, and they had a really interesting selection of drinks. It's nice coming to a place which serves something different to the usual food and drinks you find in other establishments. The staff were really friendly and helpful and there was a nice relaxed atmosphere. I will definitely be going back.
Great food, great drinks, great night!
Staff were very friendlly and efficient creating an enjoyable atmosphere and dining experience.
Great atmosphere and tasty food!
Wonderful food and drink but have only been for lunch so far so yet to experience the evening vibe!
The food was ok but came really late and was lukewarm, the waitress offered to reheat but we had already waited long enough so refused. The service also felt rushed and impersonal, I wanted to order another drink but when the waitress came over to the table it was so rushed that I didn’t get a moment to ask. It’s a shame as me and my partner both left feeling disappointed and not likely to return
Fabulous food and service, everyone had a great time!
Great to check out the new branch at Western road. 3 of us had a lovely round table by the window. The waiting staff were very friendly!. The spanish 'Juan gil 4' red wine I ordered was gorgeus. I ordered my usual Vegie burrito and it was so tasty. I even brought a bit home and had it the next day it was so good! I will be back! Thanks
Super service, amazing food and drink, will be back soon.
Disappointed with the tuna as it was overcooked but you very kindly decided not to charge for that dish. Food took a awhile to arrive generally but the service made up for it. We will try again and see if we still enjoy both food and service . Generslly tasty food.
Relaxed atmosphere great food
Really enjoyed the visit. The food was delicious with a really good range of specials. All of the staff were fantastic.
Everyone is so welcoming and attentive. The food is delicious and as usual we ordered too much!
Jolly well done
Both the food and service were excellent. As a regular to the Brighton restaurant there was a concern that they may not be able too replicate what they do so well. If this visit was anything to go by though there have been no problems!
Very slow for food to arrive and then got charged for more drinks than ordered
Excellent food and lovely cocktails
Amazing food and service!
Very rude and unhelpful waitress. Had to wait 20 minutes just to get the bill at the end of the meal. She forgot to put through both rounds of drinks we ordered. Overall she had a really bad attitude and made everyone feel slightly uncomfortable. Other surrounding tables seemed to feel the same way!
Visited for the first time. Really enjoyed the experience! Decor bright and fun and was pleased to see El Jimador Tequila on the drinks menu which i first tasted in Tulum Mexico! Service was good considering it's busy. Will come again.
Great food. Efficient service. Would definitely return & recommend.
Excellent food-Friendly staff-Loved it..will be coming again very soon
Having dined at La Choza on Gloucester Rd a couple of times and really enjoyed everything about it I have been disappointed at my experiences at the Western Rd branch. Most recently we took a couple of friends there for a meal and it was this experience that left me most upset. Immediately as we were greeted we were told when we had to leave our reserved table, way to make you feel at home! The server rattled the specials off so fast we couldn't keep up and in general her manner was abrupt and chaotic. The drinks took ages to arrive, the starters then arrived promptly but before we had even finished them we had the main courses dumped on the table alongside. I actually jumped when my burrito was shoved under my elbow as I was mid-conversation with our friends and little over halfway through the starters. We were a party of four, all under 33, and we enjoy our music however, none of us enjoyed having to raise our voices over nondescript house music playing far too loud in the small upstairs room. Great food. Mediocre vibe. Bad service.
