About La Brasseria
A neighbourhood all day Italian restaurant with French cafe influences and a very friendly welcome.
The service was shocking. The waiter did not seem to understand us, he got the orders wrong, left us waiting for ages before taking our drinks order and added the deserts from another table to our bill. In spite of the fact there was no one else downstairs in the restaurant the meal took over 3 hours. The food was good but I would not return due to the terrible service.
La Brasseria is a pleasant spot and the staff are delightful, professional and helpful. However, I was a little disappointed with the food. My first course of Tartare di Tonno was pretty perfect but my main course, Linguine alle Vongole e Bottarga, which I regard as a staple of Italian cooking, was nothing special. I usually find it moreish and delicious but the olive oil was bitter and I could not taste any chilli or white wine. The bottarga was not detectable either. It was very busy but I expect a dish like that at £16 to be better. Also, a side order of roast potatoes were barely roasted, the house white was decidedly average and the focaccia was overcooked, although the lovely waitress deducted it from the not inconsiderable bill. It's a relatively small menu which is good but then my expectations are raised that what is provided will be of a high standard. It's a fab venue but I would hesitate to go again as I could get better Italian food elsewhere for less. Perhaps just a bad day though?
Best Italian restaurant in London! Friendly and professional staff, foods delicious, especially the Veal Milanese
Excellent service, knowledgeable waiter and wonderful food.
Brasseria combines good food at good prices, with really excellent service and a relaxed atmosphere. I often eat there both for business and pleasure.
Great service, lovely food and really like the atmosphere of the restaurant.
Ate in the bar on the ground floor which is less glamorous than the basement, but actually I rather preferred. Good authentic food and very good selection of Italian wine - both by the glass and bottle.
Great place to visit - good food, great wine selection, and very friendly service. They’re wonderful!
Lovely meal, lovely staff and great atmosphere! Grazie Mille!
Nice location, atmosphere and service, but I was a little disappointed with the food.
Aside from it being a bit loud in the restaurant, we had a wonderful time. We decided to visit because of an extremely positive experience with your doorman on the previous night, where he helped us with several transportation issues despite our not being customers. His courteous demeanor and willingness to assist made us want to experience the restaurant itself. Our meals were delicious and we were very happy for all the options available to customers with Celiac's who must be gluten-free. Not many Italian restaurants offer a truly GF minestrone soup, for example.
Great quality food and service
Lovely lazy lunch with some friends. Great to be downstairs in one of the booths. Food was good especially the chocolate gnocchi!
Cenamos muy bien y fueron muy amables.
I wished we were given the option to dine downstairs as it seemed more formal.
Excellent service and delicious food!
When I booked I went into the restaurant personally to request a quiet table but not downstairs. I was assured we would have the corner booth. On arrival there were only a few people in the restaurant of which 2 women were seated drinking ( not eating ) in the booth. The manager just shrugged and offered us one of the many other empty smaller tables. I asked if he could move the ladies from their 4 seat table elsewhere - perhaps even offering them a free drink to compensate. He was unhelpful , disinterested and offered no apology to us. The 2 ladies finally left in their own time. The restaurant was stil very quiet but by then we had settled in to our small noisier table for 4 so we chose not to move. The waiter service was goid but management needs retraining in customer service. .
Always a delight x
Great evening- would definitely recommend
Used to love this restaurant when it was Gatti’s. Now very average. Lobster Roll was good. Overall disappointing and wouldn’t book again.
Excellent food, wine and service. Thoroughly enjoyable.
Great food, cocktails and faultless service. Would be great to see few more main courses and less pizza
very mediocre food.
The food was delicious and original (especially the truffle and finocchio pasta). The staff were very lovely and helpful and the manager was very kind with his wine recommendations! My mother and I enjoyed the atmosphere of la Brasseria on one of the only days it snowed in London! Will come again :)
