About La Bandera
Situated in the heart of Manchester and considered as one of the best Spanish restaurants in the UK, La Bandera is a family run restaurant inspired by by the beautiful sights, aromas and tastes of our homeland, the Canary Islands, our chef Ruben del Villar (Tenerife) continuously sources the best local and Spanish ingredients to create our unique menu.
Great restaurant, really good selection of tapas and the food was delicious. Portions are a good size too. Staff were really friendly and helpful when choosing dishes, service was good. Would definitely recommend.
The food was really good and the place it's fantastic. I give the service a 10 out of 10, Lorena was incredible and super kind. I think it is a bit pricey but the location of the restaurant is excellent. I would definetely recommend it.
Really nice staff and food with proper spanish food. I'll go again for sure. 100% recommended. ;)
Patatas bravas to die for! Always a lovely experience to eat at la bandera - food and people are both great!
The ladies that served us were really friendly and made us feel so at home. There was a great explanation of the menu and very quick service. Thanks to everyone for a great evening x
Amazing authentic tapas. Really enjoyed it and exceptional service.
Very good food with excellent service, we will be back.
It was amazing. Authentic, relaxed, delicious and amazing staff. Definitely be heading back soon
Lovely venue and food. Would definitely go again
We had a great meal here as a group of 9 for my wife's birthday. The place is beautifully set up for eating with friends in a relaxed environment. Big credit must go to Marc (possibly restaurant manager) who was great with us despite us being quite a raucous group. He was informative, polite and selected a great selection of dishes for us to share. The food was absolutely amazing and we will definitely be returning!
Slightly noisy birthday group but otherwise restaurant was quite quiet, not busy. Great food and great wine - ate too much!
Wonderful experience, look forward to coming again
Really enjoyed the meal and the evening. Staff were great. Food very good. Will Certainly recommend
This is the second time we visited La Bandera the first being with friends and had the tasting menu that was fantastic. When an offer came up on travelzoo really looking forward to visiting again. When I rang to book a table it was accepted without any problem but when I advised i wanted to use a travelzoo voucher I was made to feel very uncomfortable. I was put on hold until he went to check it was ok and then came back to me to say he would take my booking but it was the last one they could accept as there was only a certain number of bookings on a promotion. It got even worse when arrived at the resturant as it hadn't benn noted on my booking that it was on a voucher arrangement. There was a lot of sucking of teeth with them asking me who had taken my booking but I advised that I hadn't been given a name. I was made to feel very uncomfortable . if the resturant doesn't want to accommodate travelzoo vouchers then they should promote their resturant in this way. Very disappointing and spoilt what could have been a very nice Saturday lunchtime meal. Customers are customers wherever they come from. Won't be back again.
Our first visit to this restaurant and we were very pleased with the experience. A good menu choice and the wine list also very good. Will definitely be visiting again in the near future.
This was our second visit to this restaurant and we couldn't fault anything.
We had a lovely meal. Very affordable for the quality and our waitress was very attentive. Would thoroughly recommend over El Gato Negro round the corner which is too expensive for what it is.
Perfect Anniversary Dinner - Great Food and Service
Excellent tapas. Excllent food, well presented and our waitress was very good.
I have to admit to be being very disappointed. We have visited La Bandera before but we were not impressed. We decided to give them another chance as we had seen a lot of very positive social media advertising recently. When we arrived, even though we had booked, we were seated on a very small middle table even though there were four booths available, my wife asked if we could could move but we were told no. We ordered some tapas and a main course. The Iberian ham was tasty but crazy expensive for the amount that is provided. The rest of the food was terrible. Cold, reheated and not Spanish. My wife (of 16 years] is Spanish and we spend a lot of time in Spain and the islands and the food at La Bandera is not in any way representative of what Spanish chefs can produce. The service is as bad as the food. My wife and I are both fluent in English an Spanish and expect all the staff to be able to, at least, speak English. It seems that the Spanish staff are only capable and comfortable of speaking Spanish. Then there other staff that seem to understand English or Spanish... most confusing! I’m glad I bought a Facebook voucher from them as if I had paid full price then I would have felt really ripped off. Their Facebook photos are almost false advertising.
This is the best Spanish and Tapas bar in Manchester. If you want to try authentic food and not the mass produced food other restaurants churn out go to La Bandera you will not be disappointed. We travel from outside of Manchester on a regular basis to come here because its that good !
Great food and good loyalty scheme
La Bandera is a great restaurant. The food is amazing, the staff are friendly and polite. Would definitely recommend to everyone. We will be going back.
