About La Bandera
Situated in the heart of Manchester and considered as one of the best Spanish restaurants in the UK, La Bandera is a family run restaurant inspired by by the beautiful sights, aromas and tastes of our homeland, the Canary Islands, our chef Ruben del Villar (Tenerife) continuously sources the best local and Spanish ingredients to create our unique menu.
Excellent food but service was slow.
Really lovely friendky staff. Food excellent
Food is delicious and the service was lovely. Always polite, friendly and knowledgeable about the food. Great night.
Fourth visit since September and as always a great dining experience . We enjoyed the tasting menu yesterday and the octopus was fantastic. Can thoroughly recommend the tasting menu , you won’t be disappointed
Enjoyed our 1st visit, late afternoon on a Sunday so not at all busy when we arrived but there was quite a noisy group near us. Food was delicious and the service very good but more staff were needed as the restaurant became busier. We had to wait longer than we would have liked for coffee. We would visit again.
I have had the tasting menu, paired with wine. The food was absolutely amazing, I can’t describe how delicious it was. The wines were beautifully paired with the food and some were very unique and well thought out pairings. The only disappointing thing was the service, it was very rushed, almost to the point that the waiter told us to move at the bar before we even finished our dessert. Or half way through the menu tasting they tried to serve us the next course even though I still had about half of my previous course to go through.
Wonderful late lunch - food was delicious - can highly recommend the cod and squid dishes. Service was friendly with advice on dishes. Our waitress Lorena was friendly and happy to answer questions and give recommendations. Will definitely come again when we next come to Manchester. Great atmosphere, wonderful food and service - perfect combination.
Music quite loud and contemporary. As the evening progressed and the restaurant filled music less intrusive. A medical incident occurred in the restaurant and the waiter dealt with it as if a paramedic, superb. Best Tapas restraint we've been to in Manchester City Centre to date.
The food and the wine were absolutely fabulous. All cooked fresh and hot highly recommend this place.
WOW .. I've always been put off by the decor looking a little too many seen but decided to give it a go after purchasing the tasting menu. We came during a weekday lunch and absolutely loved every dish. Squid ink croquettes were outstanding, the chicken was delicious in fact we couldn't fault anything. Service was fabulous, restaurant and toilets spotless it was such a fabulous first time but one we will be keen to do again.
So disappointing. We had high expectations for this place! The food we received was nice, but the service was awful! We didn't receive half of our meal after waiting an hour and a half. We received two food dishes before our drinks came out. We ordered an appetiser of bread and his arrived with one tapas dish. The whole thing was a mess, I'm not sure if they were short staffed or what but it ruined our evening.
Lorena our waitress was lovely helpful happy and polite..the chap on reception was also very helpful and polite..the food as usual amazing
A lovely meal, great food, wonderful service. A fantastic evening.
Absolutely amazing food and brilliant quick service, we particularly loved the calamari and squid ink croquettes. We will definitely be visiting again soon
We came here on a Sunday afternoon for dinner and were not disappointed. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable and very friendly. There was a a great selection of foods on the menu, we chose to go for the tapas which was beautifully presented and equally as tasty. We had two children with us and they too were left full and happy after our meal. Great restaurant, great service, fantastic food.
A nice vibe and good food - desserts were enormous, wish we had shared. Evening was spoiled by the fact that half our table had finished their tapas when the other half arrived and we had to ask 4 times for water. Server was lovely but someone needs to train the servers to clear plates. It is completely unacceptable for the servers to scrape food from one plate to another on the table! I certainly don't expect it when I am paying the prices here.
Excellent food, great atmosphere and friendly staff!
Authentic tapas, served elegantly by charming staff. Food was high quality.
Really lovely service and friendly waiters and manager. The food was amazing too, thank you!
Lovely food and drink. Definately recommend!
Excellent and varied choices and friendly professional service
Had a lovely lunch. Tapas were lovely and the experience all the more enjoyable by our lovely waitress Lorena. Will definitely be back soon.
With a Groupon deal, it was very good on value, but would be expensive without. But no different to any other venue in Manchester. Got to say, the best Tapas we've had:just because everyone seems to be doing this doesn't mean to say that they can. If you want variety of flavour without committing to one meal, or want to try a different taste of something you haven't tried before, then come here.
We visited La Bandera on Weds 21st December, this was the first time we have eaten there although we have been in quite a few times for a drink. Our overall experience was very pleasant, the food was fantastic, we had Tapas, the size of the dishes we had was plentiful and to say our appetites were fulfilled is an understatement. We will definitely be returning to eat there again in the near future. All the staff at La Bandera were brilliant, courteous and knowledgeable about the various foods we picked.
Probably the best Spanish restaurant in the UK.
