Staff requires much better training. I had made a 7:30pm reservation for 2 people and arrived literally 4 minutes before my friend. Having been seated at a 6 seater table to share with strangers, I noticed there was an empty 2 seater table in the restaurant. When I asked if we could sit there, the waitress said no because there is another 7:30pm reservation for 2 people. I made the point that I too had made a 7:30pm reservation, and I was already at the restaurant whilst the other couple was nowhere to be seen. She then said that for her to give me that table, my friend must also be with me, and to let her know once my friend arrived. Literally as she sat me at the 6 seater table, the lady with the other 7:30pm reservation arrived WITHOUT her partner. The waitress then seated this lady on her own on the 2 seater table whilst my friend walked through the door. I was so infuriated at the double standards that she gave me, which I had subsequently pointed out to her. She eventually re-seated us at a 2 seater table after other customers left. Let's be clear, had there been only the 6 seater table left in the restaurant, I would have been fine. But it was her poor reasoning and double standards that irritated me. There was a real lack of professionalism, something that is very much required if a restaurant is to perform well in the City.
