About Kobe Cuisine
Enjoy some exquisite food at our Japanese Restaurant while you take in the breathtaking scenery at Millbrook, Queenstown. Kampai!
Kobe offers an excellent, modern interpretation of Japanese cuisine (or Asian Fusion), based around seasonal 'sharing' menus. Our chefs use fresh, local and Japanese ingredients, designed to develop flavours and heighten sensations with every taste. So kampai and unwind among friends as you enjoy some delicious cuisine, a relaxed atmosphere and breath taking views over Lake Hayes, Arrowtown and the Queenstown basin.
I am a member of wonderful Millbrook but never have I been greeted as such. It is, as I have reviewed, my favourite restaurant, Liz
Fantastic menu backed up by attentive service.
Perfect. Intimate setting perfect for anyone seeking a quiet night out. Delicious food second to none.
Great night out
The food size was unexpectedly substantial. And the cost was very reasonable.
Staff were excellent but very rushed. Not enough staff
Cosy atmosphere, service exceed expectations in all aspects. The sushi and rolls are terrific!
A very enjoyable meal! Kobe has a great atmosphere & the service was very good.
The Wakanui beef is utterly divine!
A memorable experience. Really enjoyed sitting around the chef's area watching them wield their art and attention to detail. The beef and the duck were as tender as we have ever had. And we enjoyed being able to share all of the dishes. Make a booking now!
Stunning from start to finish! As ever with Millbrook, customer service which goes above and beyond without being over fussy or stifling in any way. Gronya (apologies for the spelling!) in particular was a total gem. Totally top notch food - even the couple of people in our group who don’t usually eat that kind of food were won over. We will certainly be back!
Hi there, we dined at kobe restaurant this evening....and can i say we were a little dissapointed...the service started off good at the start but thats where it ended unfortunately..the food was great but, The head waiter who took our order wasnt really attending to us at all. Started off with a gin and tonic, also a cider for my partner...she took our order without a pad(possibly needed one) as from my experience at japanese restaurants our rice which we ordered didnt come out until supposedly our last dish which we questioned her on weather it was even coming out....by this time both of our drinks and our water was well finished. We had chicken, yakatori, dumplings, tempura prawns and vegetables which you would assume a bowl of rice would come out with that....also a few more drinks which we would have definately had if even asked...but even when all our dishes came out no one asked us for another drink or even cleared the empty plates which i stacked away from us as there was no room in front for us to eat...its such a shame as we were very much looking forward to dining here this evening...our taxi fare from queenstown cost us more than the meal...$150 both ways for a $130 meal which we would have definately spent another couple hundred if we were attended to a lot more...the head waiter told me the rice and last egg dish were on there way "just look" well as she said we had one of the best seats in the house where we could watch the kitchen which i must say were on point with there service...unfortunately front of house lacks alot of attention to detail. Very sorry for the long reply but very dissapointed with the night. Thank you Stephen bowring
Our waiter was knowledgeable in the menu options which was helpful in our choices. A really good experience. The food was divine!
Amazing food and service. Highly recommend it!
The staff are extremely attentive and caring in their hospitality, truly masters of the art. The location is idyllic and the chefs top it off with the finest of Japanese cuisine. The experience demands you return.
Servers were excellent - the only reason they received a 4, was they did get busy (not a bad thing), and drink service took a lot longer
Excellent menu, excellent food, excellent presentation, excellent service and excellent value for money. Can't wait to come back again to try more of the menu.
Fantastic food. Has not changed from 1 year ago so the standard is still there
If you want to publish my review, at least change my name to 'Craig', not 'Criag'. Cheers.
Always a great experience - thanks again
The only disappointment I can comment on is the fact the advertising for Kobe refers to the opportunity for Arrowtown and Queenstown potential customers being able to make use of the courtesy coach service to attend the restaurant. As I mentioned to the reception people at Millbrook when making the booking for 4 people, our residence is in Lower Shotover and on the route the coach uses but I was informed it was for bookings from Queenstown and Arrowtown only and when I mentioned the fact we were actually on the route but closer to Millbrook than Queenstown, it was suggested then maybe we could make our way to the Frankton bus exchange and be picked up there???? Regards Joe Bagrie P.S On your "blog" opposite "About Kobe Cuisine", the information stated is about the Millhouse only??
It was a crowded time of New Year's Eve, but the smile of our table staff was really nice.By serving time, we served desert sweets.thank you very much.
Being seated in front of a smelly chip fryer is not what one expects of a genuine teppanyaki restaurant. The chef who cooked our meal seemed to be undergoing on job training (had to ask another for instructions'. Shocking, given that it was Xmas Eve dinner. Fusion does not work and chips while delicious is not one expects. No bean sprouts to go with the meal and bak choy is not Japanese!
The food at Kobe was sublime and the setting also - I highly recommend it!
