Experience the best of British dining in the exceptionally stylish setting of the Kings Head
Great service, very friendly staff and the food was excellent, see you again very soon
We had a wonderful lunch and the staff were fabulous. Thank you.
Was a difficult evening for the staff as we had torrential rain and it was cold. The team made a huge effort to keep us warm and the food was excellent.
Food was lovely, as was the wine. Need a few more heaters up on the roof!
Fantastic service, the food and wine arrived very quickly but didn’t feel rushed. Reason marked down was small things such as table being very unstable and glasses were sliding on the shiny surface and almost fell on floor a few times. Could have been a little more cold meats on the platter.
Amazing lunch in a sun trap
The service and quality of the food was very good. It was not an inexpensive lunch however. The atmosphere was adequate given the current restrictions with the staff going to some trouble to make us comfortable and warm when seated outside in chilly conditions.
It was great to be able to meet with my Mother for a midafternoon snack, in the courtyard. The service was excellent and they had made a lot of effort to make the outside area as comfortable as possible. Food was perfect. Thankyou
We had a wonderful time having lunch then drinks on the roof terrace. We were very looked after and everyone was very friendly . We love it there and will be back for more cocktails!
Food was really really good. If youre sat at the right table you will be warm but the sheep skins where good too! Really lovely
We had lunch and drinks in the courtyard - it was lovely, really relaxing atmosphere and great food. They have heaters for colder days / evenings.
Nice food and terrace
Very helpful staff during difficult times. We were made as comfortable as possible. Food excellent.
Staff on arrival were just talking amongst themselves was quite hard to get their attention so had to walk up to the bar, not a great start. Then on walking up to the roof terrace the receptionist had a mask under her chin, which wasn’t a great impression. However, the terrace itself was lovely, our waiter was really great and food was nice.
Food needed to be a bit more adventurous.
Overpriced food, I wouldn't recommend the chicken Caesar salad. Just a few lettuce leaves, anchovies and chicken with croutons. Found it very basic and small portions. Nice wine. Weather was lovely but shame the tent was up on the terrace which made it chilly. I would visit again just not to eat!
I think a menu of small plates or tapas would work well for drinkers and diners.
Excellent afternoon in the sunshine
Lovely staff - especially the guest relations manager. Attentive, well presented and very chatty.
Both our meals were underwhelming. The Roof Terrace could do with some TLC. On ordering I was told the deli tart was cheese and tomato but after cutting into it I saw it was actually salmon .... a good job I don’t have a seafood allergy !
The team have been amazing in every aspect from booking our stay to making sure that we had everything we need. The spa treatments were relaxing and gorgeous with a lovely team. Alll the covid precautions were followed and yet it still felt like a special treatment. Thank you all so much you are amazing with a stunning hotel. We look forward to visiting you again
We had a lovely stay, the food was delicious and the service was great!
Lovely hotel, extremely friendly reception lady and a beautiful feature room. Lack of atmosphere only due to the COVID rules but I can imagine how bustling the bar area would be normally. Food was very nice, albeit a small menu (COVID strikes again!). Plenty of hand sanitizers!
Generally very good. The rooms were lovely and the staff on the whole pleasant and attentive. Larger portions on the food and sound knowledge of how the make cocktails would give it w better review.
Service and food were good, under the "new normal", but our room was a disappointment, considering what we had paid, we realised that evening when we retired, that we were near the hotel generator ...it was like sleeping at the back of a plane!!!
