About Kilworth House Hotel
The Victorian Orangery has become a destination in its own right. Now fully restored it is light and airy by day and romantic by night. The ever changing light means that the mood feels right any time of day for breakfast, lunch, full afternoon tea and informal dinner. The maximum seating on one table is 12 guests. Up to 130 guests can dine beneath the Orangery's glass, timber and ornate wrought iron ceiling. The Orangery restaurant is closed on a Sunday evening but dinner is served in the Library Restaurant.
The Wordsworth Restaurant with its domed ceiling, glittering chandeliers and fireplace creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere in which to enjoy a 2AA Rosette a la carte dinner. Open from Wednesday to Saturday.
The Library Restaurant offers a luxurious ambience with bookcases and a Victorian fireplace to create the welcoming surroundings with views over the knot garden courtyard. Dining is available on Sunday evenings for dinner and at other times when The Orangery and Wordsworth Restaurants are fully booked.
All three restaurants can also be booked for events, private dining and weddings; subject to availability.
The Orangery Restaurant serves an informal modern British menu whilst The Wordsworth Restaurant serves a more formal a la carte menu.
The dress code in the Wordsworth Restaurant is smart casual
Very relaxing atmosphere, and very attentive staff. Very much enjoyed
Lovely afternoon outing to Kilworth House great service as always.
Beautiful afternoon tea - especially loved the savoury one!
Beautiful setting. My 1st time and I wanted something special for my partners birthday it didn't disappoint Thankyou
Exemplary service and super food supported by an ambience to treasure. A complete success
Stunning, beautiful, amazing and treated like royalty!!!! Thanks so much. Hope to return soon .
Excellent 24hr break which we thoroughly enjoyed. Kilworth lived up to all our expectations. Hope to be back soon. Only other comment is about overall temperature. We think you could reduce by 1 degree and help save the planet! Thank you to every member of the team who all helped create a very welcoming atmosphere
As we had savoury and sweet teas I would have appreciated a clean plate after finishing the savoury course.
We had a lovely, relaxed afternoon tea in the Orangery. The food was delicious and plenty of hot tea. Would definitely recommend.
It's always lovely to be at Kilworth. Thank you for excellent service of wonderful food.
Wonderful setting however due to rain this was dripping on us through the orignary roof, other guests where experiencing this too. Cakes and scones devine. Fantsatic service, very friendly and attentive. Tea pot spout did not pour well, my friend and I both eneded up wearing the tea. Sandwiches had lovely filling however the bread was dry.
Hello we came for afternoon tea, Aaron was very friendly and the service was great. This is our 3rd visit. Fantastic.
We had to wait a very long time for our afternoon tea to be served. I found it very disappointing as there were only a few sandwiches and no other savoury treats. The scones were nice, but the other cakes were not very tasty, extremely sweet. The atmosphere is always lovely in the orangery.
The food and service were excellent and the surroundings exquisite as always.
It was our first time here enjoying a champagne afternoon tea. We were more than impressed and hopefully we will come again in the future.
I booked breakfast via telephone, we did not stay over night. I was assured on the the phone that the breakfast would be in the orangery and this was confirmed in my confirmation email. On arrival we were slightly disappointed that we were in the Wordsworth room, however it still has its own character, but as we were celebrating a big birthday, we wanted something a little more. The food selection was great, and the service was brilliant; speaking of which Gwen who dealt with us was lovely, she was friendly and chatty and made our experience, thank you Gwen, you’re an asset to the Kilworth house team and your customer service is great!
Staff were so friendly and so kind. Food was exceptional. The location was brilliant. Will definitely come again.
Thank you for a lovey afternoon at Kilworth House yesterday. The service was brilliant and the afternoon was amazing. The staff were very professional and friendly. The venue is fantastic. Would recommend this to anyone.
I came here for afternoon tea with my mum as it was a Mother's Day present from last year. Considering how much the afternoon tea was I thought it was very expensive for the little amount of food we got. The food was nice, however the cakes weren't nice as there was 'cinnamon' in all the cakes, which was so spicy it felt like my tongue was on fire as I don't like spicy foods, I thought this was odd to put in a cake and wasn't nice. The atmosphere wasn't great as the area we were in was empty with only 3 other tables occupied. The service we received however was great
Impressive building but the Sunday lunch was disappointing when compared to local rivals.
We enjoyed a lunch in the main restaurant and coffee afterwards in the lounge. The service was great and the atmosphere relaxed. Would definitely recommend and return. Nice for a special occasion.
Wonderful highly trained, courteous and friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble and they made our afternoon tea very special in beautiful surroundings with a relaxed atmosphere. Kilworth House is old world grandeur and service at its very best - a bit like the Savoy in Leicestershire! The sandwiches and macarons were my favourite! Thank you so much x
Really enjoyed our food Orangery was very cold Service was slow but staff were very polite and welcoming
Food was lovely. We ordered 1 savoury and 1 sweet afternoon tea so we could share but had to ask for extra cutlery as really didn’t want cream mixed with pate etc. Also waited and waited for milk jug for the tea but had to go and ask for that also. And £14 for 2 small glasses of Prosecco is way to much, wouldn’t have minded so much if we got a top up or refill but we didn’t.
Lovely place food and service wasn’t great for the price you pay. I was disappointed with the fish cake starter as It was really expensive and didn’t really taste as if there was any fish in them!
