About Kilworth House Hotel
The Victorian Orangery has become a destination in its own right. Now fully restored it is light and airy by day and romantic by night. The ever changing light means that the mood feels right any time of day for breakfast, lunch, full afternoon tea and informal dinner. The maximum seating on one table is 12 guests. Up to 130 guests can dine beneath the Orangery's glass, timber and ornate wrought iron ceiling. The Orangery restaurant is closed on a Sunday evening but dinner is served in the Library Restaurant.
The Wordsworth Restaurant with its domed ceiling, glittering chandeliers and fireplace creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere in which to enjoy a 2AA Rosette a la carte dinner. Open from Wednesday to Saturday.
The Library Restaurant offers a luxurious ambience with bookcases and a Victorian fireplace to create the welcoming surroundings with views over the knot garden courtyard. Dining is available on Sunday evenings for dinner and at other times when The Orangery and Wordsworth Restaurants are fully booked.
All three restaurants can also be booked for events, private dining and weddings; subject to availability.
The Orangery Restaurant serves an informal modern British menu whilst The Wordsworth Restaurant serves a more formal a la carte menu.
The dress code in the Wordsworth Restaurant is smart casual
We found the sandwich fillings to be bland and not special at all. Also too many cakes with heavy cream. Very sweet and rather disappointing. Service okay and we enjoyed our cup of tea.
I treated my Grandma to afternoon tea at Kilworth House and we both absolutely loved it. My first experience of afternoon tea there, rather than a meal / theatre and I will be heading back as soon as it re-opens after lockdown. Delicious (and a good amount of!) food and fantastic service. I always forget just how lovely it is at Kilworth House, the atmosphere is just wonderful. Loved it!
Always enjoy service and Orangery. Food mostly good except plain and cheese scones which were very dry. However, so pleased to have a lovely outing just before lockdown.
Afternoon tea fairly good, nice Prosecco. Sandwiches were first rate quality but lacked imagination, scones delicious although the cream and jam portions were small. Cakes delicious and took some home! Look forward to returning!
Atmosphere was missing as there was only small groups in due the COVID situation , not really the hotels fault
We had been really looking forward to our lunch at KH after the reopening and keen to support one of our favourite local venues during this tough and bizarre year! With all the Covid measures in place we were still able to have a relaxing time and the staff dealt with this in their usual cheerful and efficient way. The food was simply delicious, the best we’ve had yet in fact, so a big well done and we cannot wait to see you all again very soon!
Everything was beautiful
An excellent afternoon tea experience and what a beautiful atmosphere in the Orangery. Thank You and hopefully we will be back soon, when you are safely through the next lock down. Good Luck to you all, stay safe. David and Wendy
Amazing afternoons on tea, so lovely to experience this before 2nd lockdown. Felt incredibly safe whilst at Kilworth House. Definitely recommend.
Enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea in the orangery.
No one asked if we needed more drinks / tea coffee The conservatory was cold
It was great to be back and hope to with you again in the near future The service and atmosphere was as good as ever and sorely missed this year Let’s hope we are all together in 21
Wonderful lunch at Kilworth house, food was delicious. Staff were very attentive but very careful with social distancing. Would recommend it highly can’t wait to return.
Excellent Sunday lunch as usual. Quite quiet but the restaurant had only really-opened 2 days before after storm damage. All staff excellent, very attentive and helpful. A great pity you have to close down again so soon after re-opening.
Everything was lovely, wine was a little pricey at £26 a bottle which costs £7 a bottle, but apart from that a lovely meal, lovely staff, in exquisite surroundings, would go again.
Excellent afternoon tea with my family. Friendly staff & helpful. Thank you.
Staff were friendly attentive, and were not put out to help with your request, made for a very special afternoon.
Fantastic service from all the staff from start to finish. They were all so accommodating and could not have done more for us. Look forward to coming back. We had a really friendly waiter who’s name I can’t remember but it was his second day and I’d really like to say thank you especially to him he was so friendly and great with our 2 year old who was being quite fussy. Thank you so much. We’ll definitely be back.
Wonderful ambience and great lunch menu . Tremendous value and will be back again
A wonderful afternoon tea!
We found the staff very welcoming and friendly. The service was very good with good food.
Second time we have visited for afternoon tea. Loved it and would definitely recommend.
Well looked after during COVID and all its regulations, thanks
Very relaxing atmosphere, and very attentive staff. Very much enjoyed
Lovely afternoon outing to Kilworth House great service as always.
