About Kelvingrove Cafe
In 1896 the Kelvingrove Café opened its doors for the first time and instantly became a favourite lunch spot for visitors to the recently finished Kelvingrove Park.
In 117 years it has had many different offerings but in 2013 we took it back to its Victorian roots and once again made it a contemporary European Grand Café. We are interested in knock out tastes and flavours that complement the social atmosphere of the café.
The booths are a little small
Food was amazing, service a little slow but very friendly and a very enjoyable lunch.
We had a great meal at the cafe and the team made us really welcome, ensuring we had all we needed to enjoy our afternoon. The atmosphere in the cafe is relaxed and the location makes it a great meeting place for friends and family alike. I am sure we will be back soon - thanks for giving us a great day!
We were in for mother’s day breakfast, the staff were very friendly as always and the food outstanding! Lovely wee place 😊
Loved it! Great service and great atmosphere! Will definitely be back and would love to have another party here in the private space! Thank you!!!
different menu than on the website but still very good
Food delicious and staff exquisite with their service
Unfortunately when I arrived at the café for my reservation they had closed. No effort was made to contact me to make me aware of the closure. This was disappointing as it was our anniversary evening.
Amazing cocktails and great service
fabulous food and great staff
Good place for a drink but everyone was let down by the food. The chicken had very little meat on bone. The fish on bone was over salted to the point almost inedible, the cod was apparently underwhelming. The service was friendly but very slow and hard to get attention, The drinks were good especially old fashions
Excellent meal and esperience. Loved everything.
We were a little sad the menu had changed as we loved the halloumi! However I had a lovely aubergine and feta and my husband enjoyed his food. Unfortunately the whole place was absolutely freezing, there appeared to be no heating on anywhere in the bar, and though we were sat right beside the lovely open fire it was too cold to stay on for drinks.
Great New Year's Eve at Kelvingrove Cafe, very popular venue and the hosts provided excellent service.
Staff are so nice, especially the 2 waiting staff girls looking after the till @ front door, actually look as if they love their jobs, Nice pub with good atmosphere.
I found the menu slightly limited and found it strange you had high chairs for kids but no kids options. My friend had a burger and said it was delish and my meal was nice. I appreciate lots of people like to take their dogs out but felt 2 of 3 in the one party roaming around off the lead a bit much especially when one of them peed on the floor! Girls who served us was lovely but on her own so service a bit slow which is fair enough as she was the only front of house serving. I would return but wouldn’t rush back.
Lovely friendly atmosphere and server.
I booked online for four I was not prompted to give details of the diners - I arrived late however my son and nephew had been waiting for 30 mins when my daughter aged 11 and I arrived we were told we could not stay as under 18 were not allowed inthe bar after 6. Saturday before Xmas nowhere to eat! Nothing on internet to say kids couldn’t eat - nothing online when booked to say kids not welcome - manager dealt with the situation quite well waiting staff appalling bar manager appalling overall terrible experience
Buzzy little restaurant, great food and drink, lovely service, thanks
Although the destination is good the service is very slow for a basic round of drinks. I assume this is due to the time consuming orders for cocktails. A bartender or two exclusively for cocktails may help in speeding up the service for others
Fantastic evening all round!
Hi there I have been to the venue many times, sometimes for drinks and food but was really disappointed as were my colleagues (we had a table of 12). Unclear menu choice, some of the dishes poor quality (tough meat, no proper vegan option despite requesting ahead) and a couple of sullen and quite rude staff. Good points were other staff were lovely and the alcohol was good quality and well presented and as eve a beautiful venue. Saying that I won't be back.
Marked down for atmosphere, as hand on heart, I am not a dog lover and I am not keen on a dog, no matter how well behaved, being given the run of a place where I am eating. Had I known this beforehand I would not have booked but everything else, especially the waitresses, could not have been better
Excellent service. Food deserved to be better lit as it was delicious. It was very dark!
Very disappointed but possibly my fault for not reading the menus correctly. Not a place to go for a pre concert dinner. Small plates, not much variety and not many extra plates to choose from. Two scallops for a main course was not sufficient. Having said that food was lovely but be prepared to need a fish supper later.
