About Kelvingrove Cafe
In 1896 the Kelvingrove Café opened its doors for the first time and instantly became a favourite lunch spot for visitors to the recently finished Kelvingrove Park.
In 117 years it has had many different offerings but in 2013 we took it back to its Victorian roots and once again made it a contemporary European Grand Café. We are interested in knock out tastes and flavours that complement the social atmosphere of the café.
When we got to the cafe we were told there was no reservation for us but as it wasn't busy we could sit anywhere we wanted. When we asked about the menu being different to what we saw online we were told it had been changed and the online site was behind. As what I wanted to eat was no longer available we went elsewhere.
Great ambience, and with the cold weather approaching, the open fire is a cosy feature! Staff is welcoming and attentive, and the food is very good. We have absolutely no complaints and will be back soon!
Great. As always.
Good service, food and great atmosphere!
Service was good. Food was fine but not as per website menu and pretty basic burgers, sandwiches. A nice atmosphere but maybe for younger than us!
Very friendly service and good menu offering.
Great service and delicious food. We had the veggie breakfast and it was very very good.
We were a bit disappointed. The menu is completely different to the one on their website, and the times of the brunch menu were incorrect too. Brunch is served till 2pm not 4pm and there’s a lot less to choose from off the main menu. The staff were really lovely though! Can’t fault the service.
Best bar in Glasgow. Always made welcome. Love the new menu.
Brilliant relaxed and chic bar restaurant that serve reasonably priced beverages and food in a chilled atmosphere, what’s not to like? Try it if you haven’t been before, you will not be disappointed
Enjoyed my expierence but difficult to talk as extremely loud. Hostess were nice and friendly. Extremely annoyed that the menu on the website is different to what you actually get!
This is a great bar, but sadly we had a very limited menu which we weren't pre-warned about
Extremely pleasant, friendly staff who were very efficient (and also kind to our two little dogs). We had a lovely meal in a real Glasgow cafe with a great ambiance. Looking forward to our next visit. Thank you, Lyn and Michael (Ben and Ted)
Service from start to finish was friendly and attentive. KC is one of our favourite places to eat and drink. The Eggs Stornaway was a great sized portion and perfectly cooked. As was the Eggs Royale. I’d recommend this place to anyone that thinks they have taste and style as this place will exceed those self made beliefs.
Really delicious food and great atmosphere.
Menu wasn’t great
Love the food and hope you are able to offer a menu after 4pm very, very soon.
We were in for a couple drinks on Saturday for my girlfriends birthday and the girls that served us were brilliant and went over and beyond with cake/balloons. Will definitely be back to try more of the food and drink. Thank you very much!
We loved it and we’ll definitely be back!!
Granted, my reservation was for 12 but we were given small round tables meaning people in our group were sat with their backs to each other. One waitress, I cannot fault, she was wonderful but the other girl repeatedly ignored a few members of the group and gave the impression of being angry and frustrated all evening.
Fantastic night! Food was delicious! The staff were very attentive, friendly and went the extra mile to provide a cake for our joint 50th celebration. Nothing but good things to say. Thanks to all the staff, I hope to be back v soon!
Excellent breakfast friendly staff would definitely return.
Excellent service and very tasty food!
The booths are a little small
