About Kelbourne Saint
Rotisserie and Tank Beer Restaurant
Went in ytuesday around three, we were a little late but the server was extremely accommodating as i am gluten free and had not mentioned in my booking so i usually have a lot of questions about the menu, he offered to check the allergen book on the items he wasn't sure about and fed back to us. we had the chimichuri steak sandwich on gluten free bread (i was shocked that they even had gluten free bread as i usually end up without) my partner had the kelbourne club and wow what a feed the kids burger was brilliant and even came with a little side salad and a couple of onion rings which i thought was a nice touch as kids burgers can be quite bland. We stayed for a couple of drinks while the wee man played in the park and Robert our server told us about the roasts and the petting zoos that they regularly have. the only downside was by the time we were ready to leave there was a very surly female working behind the bar who couldn't take our money quick enough and was completely disinterested. however we will be back for a sunday roast soon and will be watching facebook for the next petting zoo day.
Food was of poor quality and several items on menu not available. Salad was wilted, fish was overcooked and the cheesecake did not seem fresh, the strawberries were practically mouldy. The staff were friendly but seemed to lack confidence in the place. We live locally and were hoping this would become our regular but really disappointed. The decor is nice, pub looks great and the music was good, but the food was a really big let down.
Service very slow and no explanation as to why: very few customers at the time (possibly 4 tables yet food took approx 50 mins to arrive). As a ‘kid friendly’ place it is not great to wait so long for food to arrive as the children get restless.
Disappointed! Food was very average, glass of wine was awful & at £7 was not impressed. Staff were polite & friendly but the rest was enough to guarantee no return visit.
Thoroughly enjoyed our brunch. Lovely full English breakfast/brunch. Friendly service. Music a bit loud outside. Made conversation a bit of an effort.
if i could give the service 6 stars i would . your man dealt with my mother's strange off menu requests with a calm politeness that cannot be easy in a busy restraunt
Had an extremely enjoyable brunch yesterday. First time eating in Kelbourne Saint and will most definitely be returning - Food was lovely, service was impecable!
I book Kelbourne Saint a lot, because I live locally, and have used it for my birthday, sisters birthday etc. But we were here during the week and the fryer was broken so we ended up not eating here. On that day, the Tuesday, I booked a shed for my friends and I on the Saturday at 4. I called on the Saturday to say I had to change the booking time, then when we arrived we were told there wasn’t a shed for us and that there was a problem with the booking system. When we ordered food my friend got the wrong dish but because she was hungry she ate it anyway. Then we were told the dessert fridge was broken so there was no desserts. The staff are lovely, and I know none of that is their fault - although the problem with our booking was annoying, we did then get a shed about an hour later.
It took 10 minutes for us to get served but once we did the guys were very friendly. I would say that the food was ok but nothing special, especially given that it's not the cheapest. A wee bit of a salad garnish would set off the burgers also. On the plus, stunning surroundings, the beer garden is great. Lovely wee sun trap and I love the huts. Free face painter was a good touch too.
Every time we visit, one of our order is wrong. Maybe the person taking the order should take a litttle longer to say the order again or take the order on a piece of paper. The food is great but we had to wait 55 min to get our food. Way too long
The vegetarian breakfast did not taste good at all. My fiancés Apache chicken burger had hardly any chicken in it. The kids croquettes were rock hard. When we asked the server for two plates to split up the meal for our children, he brought us two dirty plates. We asked him to change them and the was no apology or even acknowledgement of the dirty plates. Nobody came to check with us that our meal was ok and the plates were not even cleared from the table when we were paying. The service was absolutely abismal. Staff did not seem to care whether we had a pleasant dining experience and the food was not good at all. The actual physical environment of the restaurant is nice enough but quality customer service and quality food is severely lacking. We won't be back. To top it all off it was actually my fiancés birthday and I was treating him to lunch. It was a huge disappointment.
Excellent service and food in a very well managed establishment. The general manager is a star.
Always nice, been a regular before, but been away a while. New menu which has more choices, which is good, but not as much of your signature rotisserie chicken?
Wonderful meat board. Too little vegetables and roast potatoes compare with the meat
Held a surprise birthday party here for my wife. Great organisation from Sandro and superb service from the whole team!
Food took a little while to arrive but it was certainly worth the wait it was delicious. It made a refreshing change to go somewhere that catered for children but also provided good food and a nice environment for adults.
Had a wonderful mother’s day lunch. The food was amazing and the service even better. The family friendly atmosphere made it a relaxing dining experience with 2 young children.
We came for Mother’s Day. The food was great. We had the roast sharing board which was enormous although I’d have liked a bit more green veg! Kids had burgers which were big. Very kid friendly. They loved playing in the garden. The manager was great but food took a while to come (ok as kids playing outside) and other staff were a bit slow. Overall we really liked it and will be back.
The place was freezing, vegetables undercooked and beef tough. I have been before and the food was better but both times the service was poor and room so, so cold. Won’t be back.
We ordered the roast sharing platter and found that the beef was chewy (so much so I couldn't swallow it and had to spit it out twice) and the chicken was dry. We had asked for yorkshire puddings which took a very long time to arrive. `When they did arrive they tasted more like bagels than yorkshire puddings. They were far too heavy, not light and fluffy like they should be. There is a nice atmosphere in the restaurant though, i just think there is room for improvement with the food and staff weren't as 'on it' as we would have liked.
Here are the bullet points: Horrifically slow service. We were there for 4 hours and spent most of it waiting on a member of staff to appear upstairs. 40 minutes passed whilst plates were served to all for the main course. Some meals served cold. Chicken Pie burnt. No dish provided for mussel shells. Macaroni cheese tasteless. Coffee served before desert 30 minutes wait for deserts to be served from ordering. Good beer but we won’t be back.
Lovely food and quirky place..liked the ambience and the decor. Attentive staff. Will definitely return.
Excellent lunch, gorgeous food, great value for money and staff were excellent, very family friendly. Looking forward to coming back and trying out the play area
Great place for a cold Monday in January when you can’t be bothered cooking.
Excellent, as always. Regular visitors to the 'Saint. Never disappointed. Great food, friendly and perfect service. Can't be beat!
