About Kebabgy Oriental Grill - Sofitel Cairo El Gezirah
A tantalizing aroma of grilled meats and freshly baked bread lead you to Kebabgy, one of five top restaurants on the Promenade. Chefs use open charcoal barbeques to grill succulent cuts of lamb, chicken and more...
Great experience with well experienced staff
Very tasty and frendly. Thank you
Food is a bit expensive but it really tastes so good and the view and the atmosphere are perfect
amazing experience ,i was there with mum and dad , first of all they moved us to a valentine prepared setting with tables topviewing the nile from above and tables had candles and flower petals and wonderful strawberry welcome drink , all this was done as compliment . then the food arrived and the least we can say is meat was mouthwatering , super delicious thank you so much for everything
Excellent I recommend
The service wasn’t that friendly and it took a while to grab the attention of the waiters. The location and food quality was perfect but it was dimmed by the service
Food was delicious, music band (singer) was stunning, Mr. Elyas helped a lot in the birthday surprise party for my fiancée, however, the cake was not that tasty. All in all experience rating is 9/10, many thanks since we enjoyed the day.
The food is great, the view incredible and friendly staff 🥰🥰
I was shocked that such a restaurant in a five stars hotel located in downtown is not respecting coronavirus precautions no social distancing, not respecting the 50% capacity allowed by the Egyptian government nothin. I was not feeling comfortable and would not di it again during the pandemic. Please respect your guests and take all the necessary precautions to make sure Of your guests safety. Although food and view on the nile was amaing along with the oriental songs
Lovely place and delicious grills by the Nile
Basically no options for vegan meals, only a few starters.
The online booking does not differentiate between the indoor seating and outdoor so you need to add it as an option
portions of the main course are really small compared to its price.
I had a great time at Kebabgy, and would definitely recommend it to others. This was my first experience there, and went there to take a colleague from abroad. I was looking for a place with a nice backdrop, and tasty local cuisine on the menu. Kebabgy did not disappoint. The food was all wonderful, as was the service. Hotel staff were generally friendly and helpful, and restaurant staff were great as well. Only downside really is that the value-for-money was not so great. A meal there is quite pricey, but I understand that one does not necessarily only go there for the food. Yes, the food was great, but the whole experience was worth the price difference. Portions of main courses could be larger, however. Anyway..., would certainly recommend it to others, and plan to go back myself, on occasion.
Very nice view
Amazing view, though this island of dirt on the right side leaves a sad image. Food is very good, somme mezzas were disappointing though. Service was not very attendfull and seemed disorganized
Asmaa is the best ever, thank you
The food was delicious and the quality was perfect. Service, however, was not what you would expect at Sofitel. As we entered, we were promised to be seated on the lower terrace, closer to the Nile, because it opens at 6pm. At 5:30, a table was seated there. We asked to change the table and the hostess arguments were nothing but non-sense. After insisting, she agreed that we move but only to second row tables, "claiming" that the first row ones were "all" reserved at 7pm. Challenging her claim, she rudely replied that she's more aware of the restaurants reservations. And of course, only 1 out of 10 first row tables was taken as we were leaving at 7pm. Flagging this to the hostess was met with a rude reaction without even apologizing. Very disappointing incident!
Great food, great vies, great service. And there was even live music! Just as feedback, you were very quick in bringing in the foo which is great, but please just leave a bit of time between the entrance dishes and the main course. There was too much food in the table!
The location is cool, on the Nile with decent views. The staff are pretty good, although they could be a little more attentive. The issues we had relate to the food, particularly the portion size. I have been to many Arabic/Lebanese restaurants and have come to expect a certain quantity of food, especially the barbecue. We ordered 3 BBQ items off the menu, including a mixed grill, when it all came it wasn't enough to even cover 1 disk of local bread! The food we found to be dried out and over cooked. Whenever I have ordered lamb chops in the past i have always been given 6-8 pieces, this order came and was only 3, and that was supposed to include 2 from the mixed grill. In the end, the waiter was gracious enough to remove the separate order of lamb chops from the bill. It should be made very clear to the patrons of this restaurant that the portion sizes are not the standard or what you would expect from most other Arabic restaurants.
food was not that good except the bread was amazing.. don't think, will come again
The mixed grill we ordered was disappointing. The restaurant was relying too much on the location and view and not much effort was put into making food of decent quality. Value for money definitely not worth it, you can get tastier food in Cairo for much less. The service was below average, our table did not have good lighting. I would definitely not recommend it.
