About Kai Mezze Bar & Grill
THE HOUSE OF KAI
The Kai tribe (Turkish: Kayı boyu) was the second-largest and most influential tribe of the nine-tribe Turkish nation. Legend has it, the Kayı was the tribe out of which the Ottoman Empire emerged. The word Kayi means:
MIGHT AND POWER THROUGH RELATIONSHIPS
Your restaurant was CLOSED upon arrival with no explanation or prior warning to me about being closed. Safe to say I won't be booking again.
Awful service I booked this restaurant for my boyfriends birthday and when we got there it had a CLOSED sign on the door, we was not pre warned about this, ruined my boyfriends birthday and our Saturday night. NEVER AGAIN
CLOSED DOWN WITHOUT INFORMING ANYONE WHO HAD A RESERVATION! House of Kai is the most unprofessional restaurant, avoid them at all costs! I booked a table for 16 here for my hen party months in advance and was asked to confirm the table 2 days prior to the event which I did. I tried to call the restaurant multiple times to let them know we were arriving early to set up the table but couldn’t get through to them, even though they were making outgoing calls because the line was occasionally engaged when I was calling. When we arrived on the day (Sat 7th March) all of the lights were off and the door was locked and there was a handwritten sign on the inside of the door saying ‘closed’ with no explanation!!! Lots of people were turning up having made reservations for that day and they hadn’t informed any of their guests that they had closed down or given any explanation as to why they were closed. I then had to find another restaurant last minute to host my hen party which was very stressful and inconvenient. They should have pre-warned people that they had closed down instead of just letting guests arrive to a closed restaurant and be forced to go elsewhere. It was very unprofessional and I would never go back if they reopened.
Turned up for our booking and the restaurant was closed. We had no notification or anything. Extremely poor customer service. Would not recommend at all
AWFUL SERVICE AND MANAGEMENT- DO NOT RECOMMEND!
Restaurant closed at time of reservation!!! Didn’t answer phone!!
Absolutely appalled you have the cheek to ask for a review. This automated system doesn't work for this restaurant and the staff working there can not be bothered to check the booking notes or be bothered to help upon arriving at the restaurant. Disgusting service and will definitely not recommend. I intend to write a strongly worded email to this restaurant. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!
Hi, The food was lovely, however we were incredibly disappointed with the service. Our booking was for 2:30, we were seated at 3pm as our table was not ready, so we were left standing at the front of the restaurant for 30 minutes. We had a bottomless brunch booked (in which 3 people were paying full price at £25 a head). After 2 glasses of prosseco each, we were told they had run out of prossecco. If you know you have a sitting for bottomless brunch in the afternoon, I do not know how you can run out of prosecco. When we pulled the manager up about this we were told that 'people drink too much prosecco when it is free' - the prosecco was not free as we were paying a premium for a bottomless brunch experience. It is a shame as the food was very nice, but very disappointing overall experience.
Service very slow. Sat with empty starter plates in front of us for ages before they were removed. Lots of staff but not very attentive. Was given different wine that what I asked for, awful tasting and had to exchange it. Toasted bread that came with houmous starter was not toasted, it was soft and cold. Sharing meat platter was the right amount to share, lamb chops were very small.
Amazing food at the Bottomless Brunch
The food and service was second to none. The fact we were booked on a " Bottomless brunch " offering Prosecco and you ran out of prosecco after one glass is very, very poor. AT least you offered an alternative although this was not to our taste. How can you run out of prosecco at 3pm in the afternoon ??
We were very well looked after by our waitress and enjoyed the bottomless brunch very much.
The food was amazing but the atmosphere was awful due to the fact that the bar had run out of pretty much everything so everyone was just eating their meals in a rush to leave. I’d say it’s pretty unacceptable to run out of prosecco when you have a restaurant full of people expecting a prosecco bottomless brunch! I’m not happy at all!
Very slow to serve the bottomless prosecco,
Meat was tough, sides were nice but the lamb in the mixed grill was hard and tough not worth the price tag. Half the stuff on the menu wasn’t available.
Service was terrible and the food wasn’t great. Definitely not worth the money
Fantastic service. Staff are very friendly and very helpful. Definitely return.
Food was extremely tasty but service was possibly the worst I’ve ever encountered! We did bottomless brunch and had to ask 3x for refills every time we finished our drinks.
The young male waiter was absolutely amazing so friendly, all the staff we’re extremely friendly constantly topping up our drinks for the bottomless brunch. The food was nice the only thing I would say is it wasn’t hot enough it was just about warm. Really nice interior and atmosphere would definitely go back, the bottom less brunch was great!
Lovely place food excellent all members of staff attentive to service and looking after us
Wasn’t welcomed as we hoped, to say it was unlimited Prosecco was a joke, our food came before our drinks which we ordered first, then the restaurant ran out of Prosecco so we had to wait again, when we left the restaurant 1 hour after eating, our plates were still on the table. Definitely didn’t get our money’s worth
I came with friends for the bottomless brunch. The table was booked for three but we were not seated until 3:40. We were not asked if we would like a drink whilst we waited. We then waited another 15 minutes for a drink after we were seated. The waitress was run off her feet. The food was lovely. You ran out of Prosecco thirty minutes before the end of the brunch. Overall it was disappointing
Service was very poor. Food was nice. We did the bottomless prosecco deal we was seated just after 2PM and didn't get any service until 2.20pm and by 3PM you had run out of prosecco so in all 90 minutes of prosecco was just over 40 minutes so not a very good service.
