About Jidori Dalston
A yakitori restaurant based in the heart of Dalston. In the spirit of traditional izakayas, we place equal importance on food and drink. We offer an omakase menu "chef's choice" for first time diners who want to try yakitori but don't know where to start. We also offer a range of small plates such as katsu curry scotch egg and koji fried chicken for a bit more playfulness.
Friendly & knowledgeable staff, helping us with a few recommendations. Great sharing plates & tasty cocktails.
We love it
Amazing service and food.
Really nice staff - upgraded our table from bar to table and we really appreciated that
The girl staff are nice, but there is a guy who is very rude and unfriendly. Atmosphere is great. Drinks were quite good. Food is average. It's very expensive for what it is. Trying very hard to be excellent, but falls very far short. One of the dishes (the beef with raw egg) was actually horrible.
We enjoyed our time at Jidori, but I'm sorry to say that the food very underwhelming. We are both vegetarians and on Valentine's Day, the vegetarian set menu was poor. We had some tasteless tofu, half an aubergine to share, one egg to share, a bowl of rice each and some mushrooms. Pretty disappointing!
The relaxed and lively atmosphere added to the creativity of the food and good natured service from the waiting staff. As the restaurant got busier mid way through our meal, speed of service dropped considerably, which shouldn’t have been a surprise given we were eating from 8pm on a Saturday evening. However, the quality of the food negated any frustration with being left longer to wait for some of our food than I would have expected.
Have been meaning to try Jidori for months and had a wonderful meal with friends. Helpful, gentle service and plenty of options for non- meat eaters.
Nice food but very small portions I was still hungry and it’s not cheap
Sensational food which is both delicious and authentic.
Tried to sign up for 10% discount for my booking but the link didn't work.
Will definitely go back. Relaxed vibe, excellent helpful service, cocktails and food.
We've been to Jidori several times and are always impressed with the food and service
Our server was friendly and really helpful in describing the dishes to us, service was quick and all the dishes we had were lovely. I was there last night and have already recommended it to three people!
Amazing food, lovely atmosphere and great value for the high quality you get. Staff are v attentive and service is quick - ideal if you are catching a film at the Rio cinema next door.
I am a repeat visitor and always enjoy it here. Service could be a little more attentive but staff are friendly and welcoming.
Lovely atmosphere, delicious food, good veggie options.
Not bad, but not great - restaurant was empty at 7pm so not great vibes but not much you can do about that. Food-wise, veg tempura was a bit greasy and pretty chunky pieces, not very delicate. Various chicken part skewers were nicely cooked, not tough, but uninspiring; dressings/seasonings weren’t punchy and were all quite similar, and ingredients weren’t flavourful enough to shine through. Couldn’t taste the grill on them at all. Nicely plated, however. House made kimchi and spinach were solid side dishes. Pacing wasn’t good, too fast, so we ended up with pretty much everything on the table at once before we had finished some dishes, so things got cold and weren’t enjoyed at their peak. Beer was a bit warm. Music was good. Chairs were comfortable, lighting a bit weird and gloomy. Not an expensive restaurant so not a bad deal all in all, but not cheap, hence the sharper criticism.
Gorgeous food and accommodating for vegans!
An interesting adventure into Japanese cooking and Dalston!
Our second time at Jidori and the food was just as good. A quiet night at the restaurant, but probably because it was 28th December!! So no complaints for us as it was nice and calm compared to what Christmas is like. 1 dish we ordered was forgotten, but in the end it was ok, because we were stuffed any way! Would recommend, good value for money tasty food and friendly staff.
Great tasting food!
We brought two friends who totally enjoyed every aspect of the Wonderful Welcoming, Great food and Fabulous service.
