Enjoy the warmth of home-cooked food with new signature dishes.
Featuring a new contemporary outlook and casual dining setting, Jia Wei Chinese Restaurant seeks to welcome young families through a wide variety of Singaporean-style home-cooked dishes.
Very expensive and very small portion. Paid close to 50 for sea cucumber but there are only 3-4 slices of sea cucumber.
Overall I had a enjoyable meal with good services.
The promotion set menu A the noodles does not go well with the lobster and sauce. Too thick and too al dente. Less green chillis on the black bean chicken(ala carte) otherwise everything else is good
Nice tasty food ,, not too salty and not too oily .
The double boiled soup of the day was really good. The stir fried pork with green peppers was also outstanding. The steamed soon hock was done well but size a little big for a group of five. Service was attentive and outstanding. Bernice especially made us feel we are amongst friends. Kudos.
Excellent food with fantastic service from the staff. Enjoyed the soup, Peking duck, signature bee Hoon and coconut dessert.
We enjoyed the food where their specialty was the Peking Duck. It was great that they also had homely soups like lotus root soup. We also ordered fried rice which is usually a good choice for kids. The service was also good, as the wait staff were polite and attentive but they seemed very busy and appeared shorthanded. For the price that we paid for, it would be more value for money if the overall experience was made better.
service was good
The food was unexpectedly good for Set Meal. Good combination of dishes, excellent quality. Good value for money. I would recommend the Set Meals to other friends. A little disappointed with the refurbished restaurant — the decor is very lacking in warmth and ambience. Does not reflect the high standard and exquisite feel of a good class Chinese restaurant (that it was previously).
My family has been celebrating our birthdays at Jia Wei for years. We always look forward to visit the restaurant. Sad to say, after the renovation, we feel that Jia Wei has lost its identity. We still prefer the previous decor with table-cloth, artefacts and the wall murals. The previous utensils and furniture were much more classy than now. The Jia Wei now is too grey, gloomy and lacks a distinct identity fit for a Chinese restaurant in the hotel.
too much msg. very thirsty after eating
Food service was slow, maybe staff wanted to serve the food course by course. Set B’s fried rice had no flavour, sad to say coffee shop zichar stalls have nicer fried rice, could do with more wok hei. Set A’s lobster was fantastic, the fish noodles were AMAZING and the sauce compliments that dish very well, overall a very very good dish! The yam paste was excellent. Atmosphere very comfortable and inviting, and sufficient amount of partitions lead to a more intimate dining experience. Nice modern decor as well.
The varieties of food quite limited, many food i saw online in the previous menu are no longer in the new menu. I have actually listed out a range of dishes to order for my mum to eat, but ended up most were gone.
My 1st visit & had the set menu for lunch, the price is good & reasonable for 4 items, happy with the food, presentation, quality, ambience & staff attentiveness, hope to re-visit soon
The food is good. We enjoyed it. Only one point to highlight. You should not advertised your sets as nett as i paid gst n service charge for the 3 sets lunches. Nett would mean everything in. FYI.
Very good Peking duck and very professional and proactive staff
Menu seems to be lesser after the refurbishment. Some of our favourite dishes were not on the menu anymore. Setting of the restaurant does not seem to be a Chinese Restaurant anymore but this comes with additional tables.
Really nice comfortable restaurant good for family gatherings. Peking duck was just delicious! We ordered lobsters which the chef cooked really well for flavors, just that they were a little small and had very little meat. Other than that, a really good experience. Will come back again.
Really good food keep it up!
There wasn't much crowd when I was there. It was one of the main reasons why I'm there for a quiet dinner celebration with my family. Mine ordered my food as soon as i sat down as it was getting late and my dad and kids was hungry. The food came rather slow and i had to ask many times what is happening with my food. Service was ok and food was lovely. I made a reservation with a point to note that it was a birthday celebration but no one ask. I didnt bother and we went home to get our cake cut instead.
Very pleased with the excellent service and attention to us which was a big group. Everyone enjoyed the dishes and commented highly of the quality and taste. For the first timers the experience was delightful and wanting to come back again. Kudos to all the staff. TC
Not much of variety and too pricey... The food is salty.
I arrange a family lunch as knowing there is new chef change and the place reopen after Reno. However, I can say almost totally disappointed and it’s definitely not worth it for the price we paid. Firstly, the menu. There is no longer dim sum available. And the item seems lesser. The highly recommended bamboo leaf beehoon tasted so blend almost just bee hoon taste. The hokkien noodle and the duck minced meat (from our Peking duck) were so salty. Secondly, think some of the service staff are new. One of them poured our tea to the brim of the cup almost overflow. I think I won’t revisit. Paying a lot for unsatisfying lunch. Will not recommend, I think it was better before the Reno.
Read good review & no regret coming for lunch. Nice ambience, food is cook as per our request less salt, oil & still tastes good. Staff is very attentive and courteous. Will definitely be back to try other dishes
