About James Cochran EC3
You are cordially invited to partake in our foray into the world of food. We have teamed up with a young and exciting chef to deliver a mouth watering tapas menu carefully crafted from local and seasonal produce which features his signature Treacle Cured Smoked Salmon! Those enjoying cocktails at BYOC can look forward to a bar snack menu including his famous Buttermilk Jerk Chicken as well a series of platters for all palettes. James is bringing his food to Soho in partnership with BYOC so do not miss out!
The wine list is extremely disappointing - as you are closing down there are a number of wines no longer available. Had we been advised of this when booking we would have gone elsewhere. The lights in one half of the restaurant don't work. it would have been better had there been another waiter serving - the staff were too stretched.
The mrnu snd wine list was limited but apparently fue zi xmas closzre.. ? Waitress inexperienced .. No redtsurant
My husband and I had the worst restaurant experience we have ever had. It took 25 minutes for our first drink to arrive. When they took our empty glasses, no other drink was offered and we didn’t get a second. The food came out individually, not as you would expect of tapas and most of it was so salty it was inedible. No one even asked if it was ok, not even when they removed the plates still full of the food. Great espresso martini though. They should ditch the kitchen and stick to drinks.
The restaurant was a little empty which doesn't help the atmosphere. Once we had asked for a little time to discuss the menu, it was then 20 minutes before we were approached again
Most enjoyable lunch, excellent food. Was accompanied by a client from Norway who was very impressed.
My party and I were exceptionally well looked after by the boys last week - thanks so much
Tuesday night so the restaurant was very quiet and lacking atmosphere. We were not told about a dish not being available until the end of the meal though you chuchednin some drinks so all was well. Great good,
I was under the impression James was still cooking there I did not know he left. Food was average at best and predominantly deep fried. I was very disappointed. The service was good and staff were nice however, after eating at the Ledbury, I was hoping for a lot more...
We always enjoy our lunches here and are amazed at the low bill at the end
The online menu had not been updated so we thought there would be loads of dishes we wanted to eat but there were only ltwo in the end. It took 40 mins to get even water to the table even though there were only 5 other diners and two waiters. They were hopeless about the nut allergy even though I mentioned it at the time of booking. Drinks better than food. Service extremely slow and no atmosphere at all. Lunch was so bad it out my husband in a bad mood all afternoon.
Amazing food and great service. Shame it wasn't very busy, but we did arrive at 6 pm so hopefully more guests arrived. Value for money.
An absolute disgrace! Don’t be fooled, this is not James Cochran!!! On arrival to the restaurant which we were looking forward to we found only one other table to be occupied an although using James’s name and menu we subsequently found that he has departed the restaurant after a falling out with the owners who are using his reputation and menu to trick people in believing it’s his food! Stay away James has opened a new restaurant in Angel
We booked a table for an evening out as a family. The food was absolutely delicious, my dad took a bite of the rice and ordered another plate straight away. The staff were lovely, polite and accommodating; my sister has a nut allergy but having our dishes served without nuts wasn't an issue. Our only critique is that the chicken came around 15 minutes after all of the other food had been brought to the table; it would have been nice to have everything brought out at the same time as we shared everything between us. 5 stars for food and vibe we will definitely be back!
We tried most of the dshes and the hit rate was more than 50%
We were looked after so well and made for a really special anniversary meal. I can't thank you enough, we will be back!
Visited for lunch and the food was delicious with a great variety of authentic caribbean flavours with a unique twist. Awesome staff who were very welcoming and attentive and who took the time to explain how the 'small plates' menu worked for us as 'first timers'. Didn't have any wine but the choice was extensive. All in all an extremely enjoyable dining experience that we cannot wait to repeat.
The atmosphere was quiet as not many people were in the restaurant - this may be as a result of the area the restaurant is located. The restaurant was also too well lit.
Excellent as always. Very considerate in catering for one of our guests who has Celiac's disease.
Cute gem tucked away in Aldgate ... clever cooking, friendly atmosphere, memorable flavours
My first time here... and it didn't disappoint.Tapas on a whole different level! I definitely recommend you visit.
Very enjoyable and the food superb. Good value for money as well. Only downside was that being a full paying party of 6 you'd expect to be able to go downstairs to the bar afterwards - would make sense to me.
The new smoked eel toastie is supurb
Music playlist was good but a little too loud Restaurant was sadly empty so the premises lacked atmosphere
