About Jacobs Plough
The dining room serves breakfast, lunch and dinner – rural British cuisine with fine wines and beer.
For a more laid back dining experience, have a seat in the bar, snug or on the terrace
Superb meal, drinks, service and atmosphere as usual! We'll be back
Staff are friendly and helpful. Would have been nice to have some lighter options on the Sunday menu. We booked following the website menu and arrived only being able to have a roast dinner or risotto. Need to update website for COVID reduced menus. Good quality and guessing due to being next to Bicester village it was quite pricey.
Great place love the ambiance and the cleanliness.
Great meal. Staff were really helpful and friendly.
Food was lovely but disappointed to find no bitter available which spoilt the experience a little.
Great stay and lovely food
We came for Sunday lunch on 6th September. All the staff were very attentive, friendly and welcoming. We appreciated that we were allowed to bring our dog inside. Social distancing measures were in place with hand sanitiser in lots of places. We really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend to friends. Thank you!
Definitely recommend. Sirloin steak was spot on and staff really lovely. We will be returning.
The pub was very full and poorly ventilated and we were not comfortable. It was the last day of eat out to help out. We had the impression that extra tables had been crammed in and we we less than a metre from the next group. The room was very stuffy. The food and drink was expensive. A Sirloin steak was £23 and a beer £5, that's more than elsewhere locally and it was on a par with the others in terms of quality. The staff were very good. Not sure we'll be back any time soon
Went for Sunday lunch as we were here for the weekend. Ordered online as they don’t take bar orders which is fine during Covid. Two Sunday lunches almost £50 they didn’t give us yourkshire puddings and the gravy wasn’t enough. Poor to be honest and the menu for Sunday lunch isn’t great. I love pork but why is it only a pork terrine which the opposite table didn’t like? Just do a pork loin considering the prices. Roast potatoes were soggy not crispy. Wouldn’t be rushing back
We went to Jacobs Plough as we have been many times before and it is dog friendly. The bar snacks are outstanding and exceptional value. The staff were fabulous and we will certainly go again.
Food was lovely but was just a burger and chips, no accompaniments at all. I get that we ate during the Eat out to help out scheme but every other meal I have previously paid full price for has been amazing. Bill wasn’t right at the end and we had to spend time getting it rectified.
Absolutely loved it Meet a group of friends from around the country and Bicester was the middle ground. The food was fabulous, Great value for money. The service was quick and efficient. The staff were friendly and any issues we had, they resolved straight away! Would definitely recommend and will be visiting again
Great service, great food and the atmosphere was great. I would recommend and would definitely go again.
Excellent value with Eat Out to Help Out discount. Very good food and service
Lovely pub with great food
We were about 1ft away from next table of diners. All had to queue at bar to order as App didn’t work. No social distancing anywhere. Very uncomfortable experience and food not great. Very expensive for burnt burger. Had a better night tonight in Bure Farm with all correct social distancing procedures in place.
The place is lovely and decor, etc really cosy. Service was fine, waitress who served our table was lovely but waiting staff did not acknowledge us whilst we were stood by the “please wait here” sign so we ended up just coming in. Food was over-priced for what it was - the halloumi fries were great but the nachos were watery and guacamole wasn’t great. If it was standard pub food prices I would say it was fine, but for the prices I’d expect better. Will go back again for drinks but probably not food.
Very efficient booking systems. Felt very safe. Excellent food- though the grazing menu dishes were larger then we expected! Definitely recommend
Fantastic service as always.
Whilst the food was lovely we were a little disappointed with the menu and felt it was a bit limited on options. However the food was lovely and will definitely be back again. Thank you for a lovely evening
Great grazing menu especially whilst £10 off offer is on. Drinks expensive but worth a visit for the food. Staff very friendly and attentive.
Lovely food, wonderful atmosphere, amazing staff
Unfortunately the food didn’t hit the spot, especially considering it was recommended because of the food. I ordered 4 starters/bites and they came almost at the end of my fellow tables completion of eating. Staff are always polite and friendly, but the food on the day was below par. It won’t be a 1st choice going forward for a while.
Great food, friendly staff, nice and relaxed atmosphere
