Japanese influenced restaurant, Cocktail bar and lunch time takeaway.
Food was amazing and service was brilliant. Had a really great meal.
Friendly staff and amazing food!
Fantastic service. Our waiter was extremely helpful and was very amiable. One of the party had gluten free dietary requirements and he took great care to ensure appropriate food was provided. A very nice dining experience. Would go again.
Amazing food. Drinks were mostly ice however and cost way too much.
Gorgeous will be back again soon! Food is so fresh and tasty!
Staff visably stressed and only 7 tables in. Swearing. 4 or 5 things not available. Food rushed out and not as ordered
Worst service I have had in Liverpool. Felt unwelcome and waiter despite catching our eye never came to our table. Very disappointing
I really enjoyed my first visit last year (which was also on a busy weekend night) to Izakaya. Food and service was excellent, and I was looking forward to taking my partner for my second visit. But this visit was a disappointment. We could see that it was a busy night but it took twenty minutes before a drinks order was even taken (a party came in after us, who hadn’t made a booking and had their food and drinks order taken before we were even given menus). The menus were not given to us until about fifteen minutes after we arrived, so we looked on our phones while we waited for menus to make a decision, which we found out isn’t the same menu used in the restaurant and the ramen had been taken off the menu!! The only positive was that the food came out pretty quickly, which was a relief as we were worried we wouldn’t have much time to eat before our table reservation came to an end. Food and drinks were good but nothing to shine over the poor service throughout our time at the restaurant. Not sure I will be making a third visit or I would recommend.
As a couple who love japanese cousine unfortunetly our experience was not the best on this occasion and we would not return. To start our table had missing chop sticks and condiments (details) I was also disappointed when I saw there was no ramen on the main menu and we were told of a few other items we could not order off the menu on this day. The service was quick which I was impressed with and the dragon aubergine rolls were nice however from then on it was a rather underwhelming and disappointing experience - especially the squash bao which was our first starter - it was very very bland and tasteless and the squash was rock solid inside, there was literally 0 flavour in this starter unless we drenched it in soy sauce. Our second disappointment was the veg gyoza which were deep fried and quite over cooked. However the main and most unbelievable issue we had was when our vegetable don buri arrived - my partner and I both could not believe that the rice was completely undercooked to the point it was hard and crunchy and you could see solid white in the middle and on the ends of the rice (if you can not even cook rice in a japanese restaurant what is the point?) We could not eat much of this main dish. Parhaps the chefs were having an off day but this restaurant just does not feel like an authenic japanese restaurant, I hope customers who have never experienced japanese food do not go here and are left disappointed like we were and think that this is what all japanese food is like - we did not complain on the day (mostly because no one bothered to ask us how our meal was) we just left very dissapointed and we told our friends and family who are also lovers of japanese cousine to avoid this place at all costs.
We had a great night. The food was amazing and the staff couldn’t have been more attentive, friendly and happy to help. Excellent service. Will definately be going back 😁
Our favourite sushi restaurant! We have eaten here many times and we always enjoy the beautiful fresh and tasty food. The service is fab, as well as the cocktails and the plum sake is a treat!
Anywhere that serves coke with a glass full of ice and lemon is already well on the way to legendary status. Overall a positive experience. A bit cramped but that took nothing away from the food and overall experience.
It's such a shame that you've limited the sushi menu. The food was awesome when you first opened! Doubt I'll be back :-(
Real tasty and looks really pretty :)
Sushi was very good I would recommend this. Dumplings were small and barely any filling, definitely not worth the price. Was disappointed as we went for my partners 30th and i had prespecified a little surprise at the end of the meal would be nice. I mentioned this to server who said They had seen the message but there were no cakes or candles.. But he could do something else. And nothing happened. It wasn't a busy night, i won't be going back.
Food was fantastic and my mum loved it for mother’s day. Service is friendly and lovely atmosphere and great choice of music Will definitely be going again
Lovely place, great quality sushi and nice staff!
Our server, Robert went above and beyond to make sure we had an awesome time at Izakaya. Excellent service 👌🏻
Delicious fresh tasty food
Very polite staff, great food, good price
We love Izakaya, haven't been in months as we have a small baby now, but were delighted to see the menu has expanded since our last visit. Although our table wasn't quite ready we were seated at the bar and offered complimentary drinks, a more than satisfactory response. Service was quick and the food delicious. We look forward to coming back again.
Amazing vegan options , will be back
