About Irvin Bar Grill
Welcome to our family run cosy restaurant in Crouch End. Our menu is a happy mix of Italian cuisine and Scottish produce expertly cooked in a contemporary, relaxed style. Our small & larger plates can be eaten as a traditional three course menu or “tapas” style, as the fancy takes you.
We aim to cook within season & we treat produce with respect, keeping our dishes simple & beautiful. Our wines are Italian, from small growers, chosen carefully for quality and variety. We serve by the glass, caraffe of bottle. Start with a lively aperitivo from the cocktail menu and finish with a dash of vim from our nicely rounded whisky list, perfect with a slab of Scottish tablet.
Eat & drink at a table in the dining room or at the comfy bar.
Great food, friendly people and a cosy restaurant!
First impression was good but it took a long time before the Italian girl (who was so laid back it was bordering on rude) came to ask us for whether we wanted a drink. She also pushed through all the food and drink orders in one go. The acoustics in the place is awful; we could barely hear each other and had to shout at some point. The starters were just small canapés although the meat was excellently prepared and cooked and the sides were delicious, as well as the cake at the end. The tables and chairs had a plastic and cheap, cafeteria-style feel to them. For what you got it is pretty pricey. The bar area looked nice so I would def come back for a drink and a snack at the bar, but for fine dining or an intimate dinner I’d go somewhere else.
This was our second visit to Irvin and it turns out, Saturday nights are "happening"! Super fun atmosphere, although we were a little sad we couldn't hear the great playlist we could hear on our previous Sunday night visit. Food was amazing and so was the service.
Excellent meal and I can especially recommend the black pudding bruschetti!
Great food and service. Favourite restaurant in Crouch End.
We had a fantastic time, made to feel very welcome and food was delicious. Our order was taken speedily, but the service was a lovely leisurely pace, we never once felt rushed and this was welcomed change to many restaurants.
Lovely food. had a great evening. Thank you.
Unique menu, really delicious, black pudding & squash bruschetta and duck ragu get a special mention. Delightful service and great value for money x
Great selection of whisky!
Great food and super friendly staff. The wine on the expensive side but the atmosphere is great!
Irvin is always a fantastic experience. The food is amazing and the staff are lovely. We are lucky to live close to such a gem.
Third visit. Food was excellent - simple, perfectly cooked, beautifully presented. Great bottle of wine and excellent perfectly judged service. We will be back.
So lucky to have Irvin as my local. Food's always good, very friendly service, great atmosphere.
We had a very enjoyable couple of hours here on Sunday afternoon. We were made to feel very welcome and the food was delicious.
Out starters arrived before our cocktails, which took 15 mins at 7pm, which was disappointing. Otherwise perfect evening and we’ll be back!!
I live in Crouch End and can't believe it took me so long to come here. Food was delicious, the staff were great and really helpful. The owner, I think, was particularly helpful when we wanted only a small plate of cheese, checking what sort we wanted and dishing up a portion not on the menu - thank you so much it was a lovely touch. Will definitely be back
Good food but the service could be sharper. Could do with changing the menu now and again too.
Excellent food and service.
Fabulous place. What a gem
Had a great night, felt at home & service was the best I’ve seen. A real gem with a unique offering.
Lovely evening, great atmosphere and the food was very tasty but there was just a lack of vegetarian options. Could do with a couple for each course as opposed to just one.
Had a great evening with friends and tried some new small plates. I need to come down the Hill more often!
