Fabulous food and drink, highly recommended
Had a great Sunday lunch, could not fault it.
So lucky to have Iris in Wakefield!
Food was amazing. Probably the best I've had in Wakefield. Came here to celebrate my partner and mine's engagement and the service and quality was really special. Thanks :)
Fabulous Sunday lunch as always. Friendly staff.
The food was nice but feels a little expensive for Sunday lunch. At c£24 for the three courses it's a little too much for what we got. Also, the premises is looking a little tatty and rundown lately (hole in wall, splits in the seating, flooded disabled loo) and looked like it needed a good clean. Glasses were grimy too. Not at all up to standards - very disappointed.
We loved the food but we were upstairs and the music was too loud we did ask for it to be turned down but that didn't happen it just seemed to get louder. Sorry for being picky but why can't you block the light out from the staircase it would help with the ambiance upstairs. We would not come again if we knew we were upstairs. We will come again but we will request to be sat downstairs
Great food. Great service. Great choice of background music. Just brilliant!
Booked online quick and easy, asking for space for pushchair too with table for 6. Brilliant! Nice table when arrived, not intruding on other diners. Food, drink and service excellent every time we’ve been. Well done Iris!! Highly recommend
Despite having made a request re dietary requirement (vegetables without oil or butter), and discussing this again with a young woman (sorry don’t know her name), who said she’d already informed the kitchen I’d arrived, the potatoes had been lightly fried (I sent them back and they were replaced) and a lovely pile of watercress was drenched in an oily dressing (I left it on my serviette)!! The food itself was lovely.
Food, drinks and atmosphere were good. However the evening was spoilt by the abysmal service, two hours for two course! The kitchen obviously cannot cope when they have special offers on. This is something they really need to address.
Service very slow. Food ok but not as good as in previous occasions, a little dry. Was seated in a corner and felt confined. A little disappointed overall on this occasion
Enjoyed a delicious family meal with some relatives who hadn't eaten at Iris before. Needless to say, everyone enjoyed the food and Iris didn't disappoint!
Consistently great food
On arrival when shown the menu we were confused what the Early Bird offer was. The staff did not explain this to us very well. Observing other customers this also applied to them. When asking what was the difference between Hanger steak and Flat iron steak I was told that the Hanger steak was tough !! We were approached and asked how are meal was before we had even started our meal. The meal was average with cold veg and my Flat iron steak tasted of fish.
Never fails the food is always consistent an hidden gem 😁😁👍👍
Superb as usual
We were seated right in front of the door. It was very cold and people were coming in and out so I had to sit in my coat for the whole meal! Asked to move table but our main course had arrived by the time the waitress asked if it was too late now!! Bad customer service- it ruined our whole meal . Complained to the waitress at the end of the meal but she couldn’t have cared less! Will not be returning again...
Excellent food great value for money and the nicest dessert I have ever had! Friendly staff.
Fabulous food brilliant service. Lovely place and will definitely recommend you to friends and family.
I felt that it did lack some atmosphere, however if there had been more customers in at same time as I was dining with friends, then it wouldn't have been so quiet. My friend who is dairy intolerant was accommodated very well & the restaurant didn't know about it until we turned up - top marks!
Atmosphere was the worst I've experience in a long time! For a Friday evening it was flat and there was n9 buzz about the place. Service and food was acceptable. Didn't think it was worth £60 for 2 people.
Excellent quality food
I went to Iris last Thursday for one of their half price nights. It was fabulous food, fabulous service and fabulous value for money. The only negative thing I could say is the lighting was very dim which made it hard to read the menu.
I would like to see more choice vegetarian meals that don’t include dairy
