About Iris Restaurant
Iris is a contempary British restaurant located in the heart of Wakefield city centre, close to the cathedral and the Bull Ring fountains. Set up by chef Liam Duffy in 2012 the 50 cover restaurant was refurbished to create a modern dining experience.
As usual the music was turned up too loud and we had to ask for it to be turned down. Staff were happy to comply. Atmosphere is spoiled by the fact that sound reverberates from the hard walls and ceilings etc so if a noisy or high pitched group are there life is miserable for everyone else. Food and service are fine
First time at IRIS. Will definitely be back, loved it.
Had a beautiful meal with friendly personal service - we will be back!
Fantastic service, would have apppreciated more non meat options but will definitely be back as the food was amazing!
We had a lovely evening the food is amazing and the staff were very friendly and efficient
Amazing food and so reasonably priced, I’ve moved away from the area so I’ve not been for a while but chose here to come back to as it’s consistently good, it didn’t fail to Impress.
Absolutely delicious 😁
We had the early bird menu, the food was delicious and the service was wonderful. Thank you.
Excellent food yet again at Iris.
The lunch was lovely and the waitress was really helpful. We will definitely be return customers.
The best Sunday lunch I have had at the Iris and been there on many occasions. The music upstairs was too loud so conversations had to be shouted.
Excellent food, amazing staff
Nice atmosphere. Very good service. Good wine. Good food - best bit of belly pork I’ve had. Only slight let down was not-so-crispy skin on other people’s duck breast. So good to have Iris in Wakefield.
Food and service were great. Will definitely visit again when we are in Wakefield.
Very limited amount of wine available; when I asked if I could try before purchasing, I was told no. Not impressed. Seabass was beautifully cooked; however, the supposedly ‘roasted’ new potatoes were quite disappointing
Fabulous as always. Our favourite place for family celebrations.
First time visit with a good friend from overseas. Superb food, wlel balanced menu and a good selection of wines. Shame a couple of selections were not avalable, but that only spurred us on to come back! If one were nit-picking, it is very bright for a fine dining experience?
Lovely, nice atmosphere good food and drink. Staff good. Will go back.
menu choices and options were great, only slight mark down on food and drink was the wine we ordered wasn’t available and there was onother couple not available from the wine list. Very minor point and picky but only thing I could put down as a negative for whole experience. Only second time of eating here and have to say the quality of the food and presentation is second to none, had the duck for main course and was served to perfection, my partner had the flat iron steak and said it was the tastiest she’d had in a long time. Service was attentive without been over the top, the young lady who served us knew about the food and was comfortable giving recommendations. Overall absolutely spot on, food perfect, presentation flawless and final bill too cheap. I would have happily paid more for the experience we had, thank you and will be back
Great Sunday lunch cooked to perfection
Having been to the Iris on several occasions my husband and I booked for the early bird (we were going to the theatre) and the food was wonderful and only £10 what is there not to like.
We had a lvly evening, good food & excellent service, would definitely recommend it
Really enjoyed the Guinea pig evening. The food was delicious and looked amazing. The staff were friendly and attentive. Service overall was much improved on our last visit. Won't leave it as long before we're back again. Thank you everyone for a lovely evening.
Smashing smoked haddock Scotch egg.
