About Iris Restaurant
Iris is a contempary British restaurant located in the heart of Wakefield city centre, close to the cathedral and the Bull Ring fountains. Set up by chef Liam Duffy in 2012 the 50 cover restaurant was refurbished to create a modern dining experience.
what a lovely meal, lovely atmosphere with friendly helpful staff, nothing too much trouble would recommend to anyone, should not be missed.
We had a very nice lunch and the food was lovely. Will be coming again.
Once again, great food & service at Iris
Excellent meal at Iris, as always
Amazing food with a lovely friendly atmosphere, and high quality service. Will definitely return!
Love the opportunity to eat from the early bird menu or the main menu, great food at a great price. Fab choice of wine and relaxed dining atmosphere
Really lovely meal, can’t wait to eat here again.
Food was really lovely but lost a star because they didn’t have any Sauvignon Blanc! Good value for money. Service was ok but a bit slow once a large table came in after us which took our waiter away from us & we had to wait ages for extra gravy.. We’d actually finished eating by the time it arrived. Atmosphere not great & felt too much like a canteen upstairs, lacking warmth. Downstairs is much nicer & inviting. When we arrived we were asked to wait at the bar but there were no chairs! Overall we will be back as the food was lovely & good value but the atmosphere & service needs some attention
We were sat upstairs and the atmosphere was terrible, the music playing was very morbid and not music you expect to listen to when dining. Some of the food was absolutely delicious where others was average.
Food was delicious. Service was fab. Can’t wait to come back!
Fabulous food as always, great service - a little gem in Wakefield.
We had a great night at Iris. The food was amazing.
We always love our evenings at Iris however the special events you host are particularly good. We did the round the world taster this week and couldn't recommend it highly enough, such an amazing menu superbly cooked.
Great value at lunchtime, only had one course but the chips seemed to be reheated. I have had better meals here in the past.
The food is always amazing and the service brilliant.
Lovely Sunday lunch, gorgeous food and friendly staff in a relaxed atmosphere.
Although the food is excellent the restaurant lacks atmosphere especially upstairs. Better mood lighting would help and maybe some greenery would soften the stark interiors. Only issue with food was starters of scotch egg were at best warm not served hot. No complaints on mains. Drinks slightly overtop on prices and own pilsner was weak and tasteless. Wont rush back as there are better places in Wakefield that provide a more vibrant atmosphere.
Meal at the Iris with friends on Sat night was super. Mixture of starters, mains and desserts/cheese. Food and service was fab - we will be back!
The Earlybird menu was excellent and brilliant price too! Very friendly service.
An enjoyable meal in a nice atmosphere. The food was lovely and the staff exceptionally friendly. Would highly recommend and will be going again soon.
Good food but service was a bit slow.
Easy to book online and enjoyed the Early Bird menu
Service good drinks order came quickly. Food very good and quantity and quality just right. Did find the small glass of house wine a little expensive. £5.05. Overall a good experience
I came with a friend and we both thought it was an exceptionally good meal. The waitress could not be faulted, I wish I could employ someone as good as her! We have both decided to go back again in December.
Sunday lunch was lovely and excellent value for money.
