About Il Ridotto Restaurant
Not a Michelin star restaurant. The tapas weren’t special, cabbage and seabass (literally) was the main, my partners pork was cold... not Michelin star, nowhere close. They were careful with Gluten allergy.
Brilliant atitude towards the concept of "service". Great food and truly worth of its Michelin star.
Nice variation in the 5 course sea&land dinner. Great service.
A sensational lunch, expertly served, just before we sadly had to leave Venice for the airport. We will certainly return.
Bravissimi tutti!
such an amazing diner time everything is outstanding highly recommended
Encore Bravo
My boyfriend and I had a lunch course(35euro p.p.) which included an assortment of 3 appetizers and main course(seafood or meat). The atmosphere and decoration of the restaurant was nice. Service was not at michelin level: The old waiter quickly poured a glass of wine(10 euro) without any explanations or showing the label. The young one roughly changed the table clothes causing a lot of dusts just next to us while we were having main course.. food was good but this made me lost appetite. Service quality need to be improved to call it as a 'restaurant' unfortunately.
Well composed 7 course tasting menu. Raviolo is the better choice. Good local wines at reasonable prices.
The food was delicious and the staff was really friendly, we had a wonderful experience in the restaurant all together. We had 2 people with allergies, the staff took this in to account really good. When one dish turned out to not work with one of the allergies they immediately insisted to make a new dish, we didn't even have to ask for it.
The food and drinks were fine. Nit impressive but really tasty. The atmosphere is great though.
standing waiting when first came into restaurant was a little embarrassed, because no one come to tell me anything for a while. I understand staff are busy, but it would be better if guest has communication with staff the first time.
Un repas idyllique
We requested for warm water but the water tasted fishy. So we had a bottle of sparkling water instead. We did not have a coffee after our meal because we were worried about the quality of your hot water.
Lovely meal in lovely setting Some excellent courses Not sure how but our five course tasting transmuted into six courses
The service was absolutely fantastic - the lovely waiter brought us freshly baked bread (won my heart!) The food had incredible flavour and soul - would have loved more vegetarian options though! Thanks for an incredible meal :)
Excellent repas dans une belle atmosphère intimiste
Booked a table a month in advance, informed that we would like the chef’s taster menu, consisting of nine dishes. Informed at the same time of allergies, received a message that simply welcomed us. On the day of our booking we arrived in the restaurant, very much looking forward to trying this restaurant, only to be told when sitting down that it was impossible for me to get the tasting menu, because of my allergies. My only choice would be from the ala carte menu, where I could choose from several dishes. My suggestion that they could string together a menu from these dishes was met with a voluble “NO! IMMPOSSIBLE!”. Slightly dejected we ordered starters and a main, and was given a small amuse bouche, which didn’t really impress. For starters I had a Carpaccio with beetroot, which was decent, but the mustiness of the beetroot didn’t really add anything to the tender meat. The wife had an octopus salad, with no less than five small octopi. However, these dishes took a long time coming, almost an hour, while we where waiting with empty glasses, mostly ignored by the waiters. The main came after another hour waiting, the wife ate guineafowl which really hit the spot. I had pork medallions and belly, where the medallions where perfectly cooked, but a little flavourless. The pork belly was splendid, with a sweet, fatty taste. Served together with some lovely, crunchy beans this was a very decent plate. After this we were given a rosemary ice cream, mine without a biscuit, so the flavour did appear rather bland. I have dined at many restaurants at this level, and above, but never experienced any problems with my allergies. The day before we ate at the Glam restaurant at Venart Hotel, eight dishes without any problems at all. The way we were met at Il Ridotto was unprofessional and disappointing. I mentioned this to both the head chef and the maitre d’ on our leaving, but none of them handled criticism or confrontation very well. All in all, a rather disappointing experience, but the short meal gave us some free time, and we went to the oriental bar at Hotel Metrolpole and spent an enjoyable evening there instead.
We were a little disapointed, because there was no special experience in the menu. But we hope, the next time it will be exciting. Best wishes!
