About Il Ridotto Restaurant
Stupendous food, delightful and warm staff who made every concession possible to make us comfortable. A truly exemplary experience! Have been here before and will return again!
It greatly saddens me to say that we were extremely disappointed with our dinner, especially after having enjoyed it so much two years ago. While our first courses were acceptable, the roasted guinea fowl was so appallingly unappealing as well as unappetizing that we were unable to finish it. We actually stopped at another restaurant on the way back to our hotel to get something to eat. We will removed Il Ridotto from our Venice Dining list we share with our friends who are traveling to Venice.
Congratulations. The pre-desert was mind-blowing.
Das 5 Gang Menü war ausgezeichnet und war den Stern wert
Tres bonne cuisine
Très belle et délicieuse adresse
Siamo stati a cena. Atmosfera riservata, ambiente accogliente, personale gentile simpatico preparato e molto professionale. Cibo di ottima qualità e servito con maestria e ricercatezza. Il menù degustazione è abbastanza per far avere una gran bella panoramica della bravura dello chef. La riconoscenza ottenuta è meritata a pieno!
Creative interpratation of traditional dishes of the region. Excellent wine list. The restaurant fully deserves its Michelin star while being totaly unpretentious. The lady who waited on us, was a delight.
Amazing experience. We came for my 50th birthday dinner and were not disappointed. Fabulous food, matched wines, and impeccable service. It was worth every cent.
We dined at Il Ridotto twice during our short stay in Venice in early September. We selected the Sea and Land five course tasting menu on both occasions and were not disappointed. The dining experience in this small, nine table restaurant is one of confidence, efficiency and good humour. We were made to feel very welcome on our first visit and greeted like friends on the second. Each tasting menu featured interesting combinations of ingredients that are rooted in local cuisine. The kitchen ensured that our second menu was quite different to the first. Our courses featured a protein such as sardines, scallops, scampi, cuttlefish and pork, matched with interesting accompaniments and flavours of oak, plum, seaweeds, smoked black tea. A particular favourite was pork cheek and belly, chamomile potatoes cream, green apple, horseradish. Both our menus featured a pasta course which were knock outs. I liked the hen ravioli served with a sauce of sour cream and citrus and Mexican mole. And finally the desert of tomato sorbet, candied tomato and ricotta ice cream was really lovely. The wine list is excellent and our waitress shared her extensive knowledge of the wine cellar to assist in planning our wine selections to match the degustation. Founder and chef, Gianni Bonaccorsi, maintains a convivial presence, welcoming and chatting to guests. This restaurant is modern, refined and uncluttered and is run by a team of restaurant professionals. Many thanks.
Il Ridotto klein, aber fein. Ausgewählte, besondere Kombinationen mit Rafinesse. Alle Fischgänge waren sehr lecker.
Cuina i tracte excelents. Totalment recomanable.
This was probably one of the worst fine dining experiences we have had. To start with the positive I thought the service of the waiter was good. However we paid for a 7 course degustation which was very disappointing. The ingredients used were very cheap, for example a main course was a sardine sandwich. It was overpriced and non of the courses stood out. Unfortunately we won’t be choosing this restaurant again.
Food and drink was great, but upon arrival the hostess was unpleasant, rude, and accusative about how many people I booked the table for, claiming I booked for 1 instead of 2 when I have the email to prove I booked for 2. A very unpleasant start to the meal that left a bad mark on everything else.
Had dinner with my girlfriend last night. The service was superb: highly professional and attentive but not intrusive. We ordered the five course Sea menu and while the food was mostly excellent, the portions were very large for a tasting menu.
I didn't like the lady who gave me the service. I'm not good at English, so I couldn't choose a menu. I really didn't like seeing other customers with care. Although it always goes to the Michelin-starred store on the road, it was the worst one. Only the reasonable price was good.
Firstly, we would like to thank the chef and his team for accommodating our dietary requirements. We emailed in advance and enquired if we could have a vegetarian menu and received and affirmative reply. Considering this is a Michelin star restaurant, we’ll explain our ratings: Food& Drink: The options were poor; the tapas style starter consisted in puy lentils with olive oil, carrot purée with roast carrot sticks and cooked white endive in a caramelised milk (the milk was the best part). Remember this is a stared restaurant, so the portions are tiny. As a main we had to choose between green beans with black garlic and lemon or white endive in caramelised milk. We chose the first one, but honestly it did not meet our expectations. There was only a very slight aroma, more smell than taste of the garlic (and we love garlic) and we couldn’t feel any acidity/ flavour from the lemon. Overall, the food was cooked right, but we felt that it lacked imagination. Pesonally, I was expecting a risotto or a pasta that can pack a lot more flavour and texture, but that’s just me. Atmosphere: The place itself looked ok, simple but tidy, lots of space between tables, but somehow lacking personality, a bit cold. Also, no hand towels at the toilets the 1st time around. Service: The hostess/ server we had was great, good wine recommendations and good knowledge of the food, but she was alone on the floor for the whole lunch, so you can imagine service was a bit slow at times. Value for money: For the set menu we received, we felt it was a bit overpriced. This review is meant to make the chef and the team aware of certain aspects of the business. We’re sure everything is made daily, fresh and we appreciate the work involved in that. The food of the other guests looked great and delicious, but if you’re a vegetarian, then we wouldn’t recommend Il Ridotto.
Ein sehr schöner Abend!
Delicious food and great service! The wine pairings reccomended by our waitress were perfect!
The only disappointment with the food was the cod puree served s part of the trio of fish as it was very bland compared to every other dish. All the others were excellent especially the ink pasta and the dessert of tomato sorbet Which were both sublime. Thank you for an delicious meal.
I have eaten in many places with 1, 2, or 3 Michelin stars. I was very disappointed in the quality of the food, and the servers knowledge of the food, and wine. The Langostini and califlower were tasteless, and seemed to be frozen, then warmed. The fish was horrible, and served with a cold timbale of something I could not even recognize. The Panna Cotta tasted like a pill for digestion. I understand that August is the time of vacation, but there is no reason to serve food like this.
Thank you for fantastic dinner!
