About Il Ridotto Restaurant

Il nome si ispira al "Teatro Ridotto", un piccolo e antico teatro veneziano. Come l'antico teatro, il Ridotto Restaurant è un piccolo ed elegante locale, con soli nove tavoli. Nasce nel 2006 in Campo SS. Filippo e Giacomo, a pochi passi da Piazza San Marco, nel Sestiere di Castello, grazie alla determinazione e passione del Patron Gianni Bonaccorsi, che ha fortemente voluto creare un luogo che levasse la ristorazione ai livelli che questa merita. La cucina proposta è ancorata ai prodotti di terra e del mare, in cui spiccano materie prime di altissima qualità. I piatti proposti sono di ricerca, mai esasperata, che cambiano a seconda della stagione e, naturalmente, con l'ispirazione. Questa filosofia gastronomica è stata premiata con una stella Michelin dal 2013.

There were hits and misses on the 7 course meal we had. The shrimp and cauliflower; and the dessert were simply amazing.

Food was very disappointing, we went for the 9 course tasting menu and some of the courses were very poor, there was a carrot and scallop dish in which the scallops were very overcooked and the carrots hugely undercooked, there was a fish soup dish which had absolutely no flavour, most of the courses came out much colder than I would have expected and overall the food was very substandard for the high price for the tasting menu. The service was a little overly casual, dirty glasses were left on our table, my husband did the wine pairing, but I didn't though I was not asked if I would like more wine when my glass was empty. The restaurant was lovely with a lovely atmosphere and the drinks and wine were very good, I so wanted to love this experience but the felt left us feeling very let down for the price we paid.

Un très bon moment passé à cette table qui propose une cuisine inventive basée sur des produits travaillés de manière simple mais raffinée et mis à l'honneur à travers une assiette construite élégamment. Nous avons opté pour le menu de 5 plats à 95€ : - Noix de saint-jacques, carottes et thé noir fumé - sardines sandwich "Saor" - risotto d'automne (à l'encre noire de sèche) - Turbot, genièvre, mandarine et chicorée Petite réserve sur le dessert avec 2 boules de glace servies façon petite quenelle l'une après l'autre. Très fin mais l'élaboration n'est pas au niveau des plats précédents. Pour le vin, nous nous sommes laissé guider par le serveur (6 verres pour 56€) qui nous a proposé des accords mets et vins harmonieux. Petite salle, pensez à réserver. En résumé, une très belle expérience. Je recommande.

Gli spazi sono angusti, i tavoli vicini ed "esposti" ad una grande vetrata che dà sulla strada (c'è poca privacy), l'arredamento "minimal", un pò freddo. La scelta dei piatti non è molto ampia, gli abbinamenti sono sicuramente ricercati, non sempre azzeccati. Per quanto riguarda la qualità delle materie prime (parlo di pesce), siamo nella media, niente di sensazionale. Le quantità sono giuste. Il personale è cordiale e disponibile, il prezzo eccessivo rispetto all'esperienza nel complesso.

We had a good time in the restaurant, I feel a good control in the plates ( cooking, seasoning) but I really love sauces in dishes, for me a creamy mushroom sauce was missing in the risotto ( which can be add by the water), same feeling for the langoustine which was perfectly cooked but again a crustacean sauce was missing in my opinion to make the dish perfect. These advices are here just to improve the general quality of the plates ( again in my opinion) Again a great atmosphere, we really feel the kindness of the chef in the plates, good quality price

Tudo maravilhoso! O spaghetti nero foi um dos melhores pratos que comi nos últimos tempos: intenso, doce e picante, simultaneamente. Fomos muito bem recebidos pelo proprietário e pelo staff. Linda carta de vinhos.

Both the food and the accompanying wine flight (not an option available at our last visit in May 2018) were excellent and, in comparison to other fine dining restaurants in Venice, not expensive. Bonus to have order taken and some of the courses served by Gianni Bonaccorsi.

Not a Michelin star restaurant. The tapas weren’t special, cabbage and seabass (literally) was the main, my partners pork was cold... not Michelin star, nowhere close. They were careful with Gluten allergy.
