About Il Ridotto Restaurant
The restaurant is a bit overpriced, but we have enjoyed the dinner. The waitress-sommelier was very nice. The tasting menu was well-balanced, although some ingredients were repetitive like sea bass. The paring wines went from white to red and sometimes didn't match the dish - like a rather intense red one for fish dish.
Bravo !
We keep coming back through the years and it is always the most interesting and creative meal in Venice. Great wine list, full of interesting regional wines, and overall top notch. Signore Bonaccorsi, Cent'anni!!
Lovely place and service was amazing too. Mediterranean risotto was superb!
Amazing food quality
Passez votre chemins.
Muy buena calidad y elaboración. Servicio correcto. Nos gustó mucho.
Our second visit to Il Ridotto. We would thoroughly recommend it and will return on our next visit to Venice.
Terrible expérience! We never got to eat at your restaurant! You refused 5 services because our taxi arrived 15 minutes late! We even called you and you replied I don’t understand and hung up! That’s when we asked our hotel to contact you and the manager told us everything is fine.
Thank you, it was a great pleasure!
Easily our best food experience in Venice, because of a combination of excellent food plus a wonderful front-of-house. Thank you!
Very good and inventive food, good wine selection, friendly staff.
Absolutely beautiful lunch! I wish I could visit every day! Such a great value for such wonderful food!!
We had a great lunch, so good that we came back the day after for another.
We loved our evening with you on Saturday and have already recommended you to some friends from the US. We will definitely visit again when we are next in Venice. My dessert was probably one of the best I have ever eaten! Liz Kirk
When we were there, the 7 and 9 course menus were not being offered. We made reservations more than a month in advance, corresponded via email to confirm the reservation, but were not told this until we sat down. This was on a Friday night. We were extremely disappointed that the primary tasting menus weren’t being offered and no explanation was provided. We had been eagerly anticipating our meal at Il Ridotto for almost a year as we planned our trip to Venice. Beyond that, the server had no wine knowledge when we asked about pairings with the tasting menu and could only offer that one one was younger than another, something I could figure out myself from reading the menu and didn’t tell us anything about if it would go well with the menu. The server being unable to make any wine recommendations and no sommelier available at a Michelin Star restaurant is a first for me. What was especially confusing was Gianni Bonaccorsi coming out to open and pour our wine and run the occasional plate to other tables. I only knew he was the head chef because I read the website. Every other Michelin restaurant I’ve been to, when the chef comes out he always introduces himself and chats with tables even if he’s running food. There seemed to be a high level of disarray in the front of the house operation which became more apparent when we realized the servers were wearing the uniforms of the restaurant across the street. Specifically regarding the food: the squid ink pasta and the desert course were the highlights for us. None of the other plates stood out as above and beyond but the combinations were interesting. Something in the first or second course didn’t sit well with my wife and made her sick in the middle of dinner, but I was fine. The presentation was beautiful as expected. Some of the plates were a bit too bold in the flavor combinations for my taste but I appreciated trying new things. Overall I would like to come back for the full tasting menu next time we are in Venice because I had high expectations for the meal and don’t feel like I had the opportunity to fully experience what Il Ridotto has to offer. There seemed to be staffing issues that affected a lot. But if I had not known anything about the restaurant and just walked in, I would probably never come back. Without a better second experience I couldn't recommend the restaurant to friends.
Yours was the best food I had in Venice. Every dish on the tasting menu was really good—flavorful, innovative but balanced. I especially liked the cucumber gazpacho, the pork and the green bean ice cream!
Lovely food and service ! Especially the crepe brûlée with the mussels. The fish was also crisp yet moist with a range of sensational taste.
We had a 5 course tasting menu as we thought this would be the best way to discover a number of dishes. Everything was delicious but the beef carpaccio and gnocchi courses were outstanding. Washed down with a beautiful chateauneuf du pape blanc, this was a perfect end to our visit to Venice
We waited for 40 minutes for some of the courses. One was simply not good, we couldn't eat it. It was a sea dish, and it was replaced by a vegetable dish. The dishes were interesting and beautifully served, but not very tasty. The waitresses were very nice, but it's not reasonable to spend more than 3 hours eating a tasting meal. When the dessert arrived, we were happy it's finally over. And this is not the feeling one should have after eating in a restaurant with a Michelin star.
Un momento di quiete prelibato.
Tutto perfetto! Consigliatissimo.
Food and service were both amazing, staff were all very friendly and attentive, we had a great evening at the restaurant and would happily return next time we're in Venice.
Fabulous food and wine!
A great evening with fantastic food!
