About il Pirata
Trendy restaurant with quirky decor and a casual vibe serving creative, contemporary Italian dishes.
Great menu, delicious food
Great food and service
Easy to book, good service, great food and good value, what more do you need.
Great meal, lovely time!
We come to Il Pirata regularly and the service is always great , the staff are friendly and always seem happy in what they are doing, and the food is always excellent.
Great place, brilliant service, beautiful food only criticism would be that the drink is expensive
Gorgeous Sunday dinner. Had the beef and gammon roast sharing plates. Food was wonderful and the gravy was the best we’ve ever tasted!
Waitresses were lovely, pizzas were quite small but the food was lovely over all
We were really well looked after on a busy Friday night - the duck rage lived up to its billing.
Great evening and nothing too much trouble. Lovely meal and even adjusted a dish to suit me!! Definitely be back 😃
Excellent food and service.
Excellent neighbourhood restaurant. Love coming here on a regular basis.
Food was great, portion sizes a little on the small size for main pasta dishes
I don’t think there was much to choose from on the menu and it could be doing with having more of a selection. The food was fantastic though. The restaurant is lovely and very pleasant staff.
Enjoyed every last bite!
We had a lovely evening, service was friendly & professional. We arrived early but were shown to our table without any problem. Staff gave great advice on menu choices. Will definitely be back.
Fantastic meal! Only disappointment was all the roast dinners were sold out!
Really delicious Sunday sharing roast
All in all, we had a lovely night at Il Pirata. The night started off well with a gorgeous round of cocktails and we shared starters which were delicious. We then moved onto some wine which our waiter recommended and it was also fab! When main courses arrived however we were all left a bit disappointed with the majority of the table saying their food was just ok. I had the bolognese and the sauce didn't taste homemade and had no meaty depth or flavour to it. The pasta was also quite over cooked and was a bit watery and wet which didn't help. The sauce was like plain tomato sauce with a few sparse pieces of meat through it. Unfortunately I didn't enjoy it. Although I appreciate it started to get late, service did also slow down towards the end of the evening and we had to call a waiter over to order another round of drinks, then for the bill, then for the card machine. It wasn't as attentive as it had been earlier in the evening. I usually love this restaurant and athompshere & drinks are fab. The food had unfortunately gone down hill a bit. I'd still give it another chance though!
Another excellent meal at Il Pirata; we had brought my cousin and his here, when they visited from Edinburgh two years ago and they loved it so much that they asked to return this month, so we did and they loved it just as much!
We keep coming back to this wonderful restaurant for their great food and excellent service
Only problem is can be a bit noisy
Lovely food and friendly informal service.
A great informal dining experience in the heart of Ballyhackamore-buzzing atmosphere yet always warm cosy and welcoming. Very friendly and helpful staff. Tasty unpretentious food-what more could you need? Needless to say I am a frequent flyer!
