About Ikeda restaurant
Located in the heart of Mayfair, Ikeda is a traditional Japanese restaurant, serving up exquisite cuisine in an exclusive, fine-dining setting for the past 38 years.
wagyu beef sushi is perfect
I love Ikeda. Fantastic service and amazing food. Looking forward going back.
Great but Pricy
Ikeda is my favourite Japanese restaurant in London and that's high praise because I eat out 5 days a week! They specialise in a quiet kind of luxury that means I never feel rushed and always welcome and of course the food is exquisite. It's not cheap but the menu is excellent and watching the open kitchen is wonderful. I take all my favourite people there.
The best Japanese restaurant in town!!!
Good atmosphere. Amazing food.
Outstanding as always
Beyond delicious. The fish was so fresh. Everything was prepared beautifully. Very expensive but in our opinion worth it.
Best Sushi I have had in a very long time
We enjoyed our lunch very much. One suggedtion from us. I appreciate this may be cultural, but we could have done with more assertive advice. I’m from Spain and there waiters at expensive places will tell you how much you need to eat, how best to enjoy the meal, in which order etc. It wasn’t easy for me to navigate the menu and probably missed somebody to tell me: “I’d you want a bit of this and that the best ways is to order these theee things and to eat them in this order”. It was, otherwise, splendid. The white wine list champs from 40 to 70 pounds rather abruptly.
Wonderful food and service.
Overall good dining experience. Needs to improve on food quality, staff service and room decoration to become a fine dining restaurant.
Outstanding Japanese cuisine. Have been eating sushi/sashimi for 40 years all over the world. The ikeda experience was amongst the best!
Great experience. Food amazing, authentic and cosy. Thank you.
Easily my favourite Japanese restaurant in London. Simple, elegant with outstanding food and service.
R E S P E C T !!!!! IF YOU LIKE JAPANESE FOOD THIS IS THE PLACE. Wonderful space and service. Superb dishes. I can’t wait to go back and try more stuff.
Very delicious food.
The best authentic Japanese restaurant in London. We have been going for many years and the standard is consistently superior.
Not worth the money, too expensive and poor sushi skill
Best Japanse restaurant i know in Europe - delicious sushi, great dishes, expertly prepared with a great sense for taste, using only the best fresh products available. I allways try to book a table when i am staying in Londen.
Your food is too salty. It seems like chef put too much soy sauce. Cuz I can’t taste any other taste except salty in every food I ordered. Obviously the food level is not worth that price. Taste so bad. Everything too salty makes me drink a lot water and no other food taste only salty. Not even better than fast food. Also i really don’t understand why chef put that much parsley in Chawanmushi. I think he really don’t understand how to cook. Waitress looks very in hurry that cannot serve us better. I’d like to pay more for better Japan food. But I think your food level makes me feel that I am wasting my money.
The taste is better than most Japanese restaurants I have ever tasted in London. Also the service is quite Japan style. Wish to go again!
quite good overall
Yes it was really good thank you. The food was exceptional especially the sushi and the waitresses were very helpful and friendly. I left you a five star review on tripadvisor. One thing I would like to mention is that your prices are quite a lot higher than your competitors, when you are serving almost the same dishes and surely using the same suppliers... the food was delicious, and I know that Ikeda is one of the oldest Japanese in London, but it seemed like some of the dishes were not the best value for example the seaweed salad was very simple so the price seems a bit extortionate. Also, £27 for a glass of ikki na onna, when the average price in a fine dining Japanese is around £15. Nevertheless I will be returning!
The meal was perfect!
