I-bistro offers contemporary New Zealand cuisine, either indoors or alfresco on the balcony. The menu incorporates great local produce and flavours to complement the range of wines on offer, while providing a warm and relaxed atmosphere
We are sorry but this restaurant is not currently accepting online reservations through ResDiary.
Loved eating on the terrace (but the trains are noisy). Excellent scallops, pork belly and lamb shanks. Unfortunately the sticky pear dessert let things down a bit as it was dry, and the ice cream was icy like it had been rolled and refrozen. Smallish wine list, but some excellent calibre wines on it.
Was a lovely meal with a beautiful view . The staff where very attentive. Was a great nite overall.
The staff and the food are exceptional.
We thought that the food was exceptionally delicious. My husband's steak was cooked EXACTLY the way he asked for it. Thai beef salad was so delicious and just the right size . We would definitely come again.
Nice meal, good service, reasonably priced drinks. Would go again
Overall, not a bad experience. The manager made my son feel special, so that was a nice gesture.
Beautiful food, pleasant staff and was relaxing and quiet. Will be back again happily!
Perfectly cooked food. Friendly and welcoming wait staff. Fairly easy to find and central. Nice and clean.
The weight staff were very friendly, professional and didnt constantly bother us which is great when your having a family dinner. The view of the bridge and river on the outside balcony was really nice and they put the outside heaters on for us too. It Wasnt busy which was great as we took our 7 month old with us and she didnt annoy anyone :) we asked for a banana for her and they brought us out 2 with no problems at all which was lovely. I dont think they charged us for them either which was nice. 3 of us had The slow cooked pork belly which was AMAZING! Downside was that it was very a very small main meal so you would definitly wasnt sides with it and at a regular price of 30 + sides at $6 each it seemed pricey.. we had a vegetarian with us and there was options for her which she enjoyed. We had the baked cheesecake for dessert which was also very very yummy and j would go back just to have that again. All in all a great experience and meal. And with the first table discount was a excellent outing. Will be booking again and would recommend it to others. Thanks IBistro :)
One of the most friendliest staff ever, best Ibis 3star breakfast, confy environment, thank you!!
Excellent all round
No problems with food and service was very good as there was very few customers in our of area of the dining.
Breakfast - good except scrambled eggs undercooked Dinners - awful. Entrees and mains way overcooked - risotto was like a rice biscuit! Accommodation is good but next time (2 weeks) will be planning to eat out. PS: enjoyed the desserts. The dinner menu is not value for money and it was hard to find a table. Carried meals to room rather than go outside in the weather although some hardy souls did.
Staff were very friendly and efficient and the food was delicious and good value.
Had a great stay 28th and 29th with great food.
Was a pleasant stay
Relaxed and comfortable atmosphere
The food was excellent, the room was standard but very nice, and your staff working that day/night I was booked were excellent!
Nice and friendly. Made a relaxing meal and relaxing atmosphere
Good food and good atmosphere.
The restaurant was very quiet which didn't help the atmosphere. Food was good. Service was fine.
Food was divine, staff were friendly and efficient, really enjoyed the meal , was tasty as
Little lighting. Average bed. $260 room was worse than the $140 room. Booked to have friends on same floor and got there to find out they didnt arrange. No hand towel. Basically very slack service. Wont ever be back
I like staying at Ibis and believe that accommodation is value for money. I like the atmosphere and generally like the food and service, however this trip there were two things that definitely let you down: SERVICE - my room was not cleaned properly on Tuesday - the handbasin in the bathrrom was not cleaned. BREAKFAST - I took my own as I only ever have Bircher Muesli - I buy this locally at $8 per serving not $24 per serving. I accept that you are offering a self help service however maybe this needs to be considered further. DINNER - I accept I asked for something on the menu with a slight change. My request was for the Pawns Entre with a piece of salmon added. On my previous visit I asked for the same and it was devine. I don't know what happened this time - maybe the person that took my order didn't understand and/or listen to me. 1. Foods took along time to be ready for pick up so I didn't complain - I was hungry. 2. My order was for the Pawn Entre which came with Prawns, rice, corn, avocado etc at a cost of $17 plus a piece of Salmon. What did I get - Prawns, a dollop of rice, piece of Salmon with a few drops of BBQ sauce. This wasn't what I asked for - I was hungry so didn't complain. 3. Price - I did complain and get it fixed up - my charge was for a Salmon meal with extras $39.00. I did not pay this as this was not what I ordered, the person at the counter agreed and corrected this, I was charged $27.00 for an Prawn Entre plus a piece of Salmon - I didn't get the full Entre - I did not complain as I was hungry. 4. Picked up my meal without cutlery, bit of a nuisance having to back down to the restaurant to pick this up. CONCLUSION - I will come back but I WILLNOT dine in the restaurant.
