About Howies Chapel Street
A short walk from the main shopping district, our Aberdeen restaurant is a wee cracker. Actually, it’s a rather larger cracker with capacity of up to 170 people. Two separate private dining rooms and a large courtyard create a relaxed and stylish atmosphere.
Great service with very helpful/friendly waitress. Food was delicious. I even got a complimentary glass of prosecco for my birthday! Will definitely be back and would recommend to friends/family.
It was bizzare the experience we had. We were literally thrown out. But when we bought the wine they didn’t tell us there was a time limit. The girl literally slammed the grate behind us.
Great atmosphere, lovely food and fabulous service.
Great pre theatre meal
Lovely as always!
Had I not booked online and contacted the restaurant for a table; I would probably would not have made the reservation. The gentleman I spoke to had an attitude due to how busy the restaurant was and was not very accommodating when I advised we may be late to arrive for our table. I appreciate that this is not ideal but after our discussion we seriously considered cancelling the booking all together. While we were in the restaurant it was a nice atmosphere and initially the wait staff were attentive. Then as we were waiting for our dinner to arrive the attention to service was not great and the ability to catch the attention of the staff was difficult. That was until we finished our meal and they could hand us the bill and get us to pay. We were approached 4 times in the space of 30 minutes to ask if we would like to pay with card. Food was delicious and although we were advised there may be a significant wait for our meal the bread and olives we ordered were delicious and kept us going until our mains arrived.
Lovely lunch, very good service. Friends in group who visited for first time said they'll definitely be back
Staff made us feel very rushed :(
Howies just fabulous! Booked a private room for a very special family occasion and the restaurant couldn’t have done enough to make it special. Our waitress was particularly attentive, the food was fantastic and the room was perfect! Thanks again and we can’t recomm you enough!
Lovely meal and great service as always!
Very good food and friendly courteous service. Would highly recommend
Wow what a lovely wee find , delish food in a verycomfortable setting with very quick and friendly service, will definately be backsoon.
Howies is amazing. Casual neighborhood feel but with stellar top notch all locally sourced ingredients. I’m not local but quickly felt comfortable here and I rarely revisit restaurants but already been a second time in my first week in Aberdeen. The reviews and feedback online don’t do howies justice. Wonderful, memorable meal(s) and I’ll be back yet again.
Good food and great service!
Great service and we enjoyed the dinner. The waitresses were so friendly
Fantastic pre-theatre meal!
A lovely place tucked away from sight. I wish I'd known about it earlier.
Howies is so relaxing, with great food and a nice atmosphere.
Food delicious and staff very friendly and helpful, will definitely be back.
Staff were very helpful ,food lovely, value dor money.
Lovely food, service great just a pity you have to move on, I understand the reasoning behind it all in all a lovely experience. The girl that served our table was lovely. Thank you We will be back.
Excellent value on the luch time menu, quality of food was also very good and the service was very attentive.
My starter of haggis neeps and rattles wasn’t hot but warm enough. Main course of fish and chips was enjoyable. Wine was good. Second time I’ve eaten here and I would definitely go back. Card machine wasn’t working so would have struggled to scrape cash together if they’d not accepted a cheque.
