About Howard Street
Opened in 2013 by award winning chef Marty Murphy, Howard Street is steadily gaining a reputation for high quality produce, with south eastern undertones that result in dishes people come back for time and time again. In a lofty, industrial-esque setting customers can enjoy the food along with some of our carefully selected wines or one of Sean’s show stopping cocktails from his ‘rejuvenated’ list containing our signature cocktails along with classics with a twist.
With its striking exterior and exposed brick interior, Howard Street is a treat for the eyes as well as the taste buds. With a tempting (and reasonably priced) pre-theatre menu, as well as lunch and a la carte, there is something to suit all budgets. The kitchen focuses on full-flavoured dishes using local ingredients and the quality really is top-notch.
Service and food was excellent with good knowledge and options for gluten free dietary requirements
Great food . Great service. Great atmosphere.
A busy night with a large group gathering for a 60th birthday. Some members of the group got a bit too close for comfort to my partner as they were standing immediately behind us, but this was noticed by your super attentive waitress- possibly deputy manager, Polish?? It was slightly uncomfortable for him, but your staff tried their hardest...
Fabulous as always! Cannot wait to back. Favourite restaurant in Belfast. Great food and service
One of my favourite restaurants in Belfast. Consistently good food, service and atmosphere.
We had a superb evening at your restaurant. The service was fabulous and the recommendations for both the fish and the wine, were spot on! I will most certainly be back!
My husband and I went to Howard Street after reading the comments on trip advisor. We can honestly say it was the best meal we’ve ever had our in Belfast and we’ve been to a few of the best. From the service, atmosphere, service, food and wine it was all excellent. There is no doubt we will be back and be recommending Howard Street to all our friends and family.
We had such a great time at Howard Street for my birthday celebration. Food & Service were excellent!

Great food, great service, always a great atmosphere. The pre-theatre menu is excellent value too.Always our first choice when in town.
Excellent location for lunch, and excellent value for money. Would have no hesitation in recommending it to other diners.
We have never been disappointed by the food at Howard Street. We have been many times.
We were celebrating a special occasion and were treated extremely kindly by Anna and also another by another non-uniformed female senior colleage. Our favourite restaurant by a mile in Belfast and can’t wait to come back again!
Great night as always. Special wee treat and our favourite Belfast restaurant. Pity we cant go more often.
We’d a beautiful lunch, one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. The staff got it just right, friendly and professional at the same time. Can’t believe we hadn’t been before but will definitely be back.
Favourite place, great food and great atmosphere!
Service was fab and so was the food. Can’t wait to go back!
Great night very attentive staff
Fantastic food. Good service Will be back
Great food and friendly service. Love to eat here when in Belfast
Service and food excellent, staff very pleasant and friendly and food flavours were amazing. Only restaurant I visit where I don’t have to add seasoning! Staff very accommodating when I asked for an alternative dessert as didn’t like any that were listed on the menu but they sorted me out with something that I loved. One of my favourite places by far.
Good food and pleasant and friendly staff. Attractive setting with the wood fittings of an older Belfast shop or office sensitively adapted to use as a restaurant.
Ordered wine but had to accept substitute. Ordered dessert but had to accept substitute. Other than that pretty good experience.
