About Howard Street
Opened in 2013 by award winning chef Marty Murphy, Howard Street is steadily gaining a reputation for high quality produce, with south eastern undertones that result in dishes people come back for time and time again. In a lofty, industrial-esque setting customers can enjoy the food along with some of our carefully selected wines or one of Sean’s show stopping cocktails from his ‘rejuvenated’ list containing our signature cocktails along with classics with a twist.
With its striking exterior and exposed brick interior, Howard Street is a treat for the eyes as well as the taste buds. With a tempting (and reasonably priced) pre-theatre menu, as well as lunch and a la carte, there is something to suit all budgets. The kitchen focuses on full-flavoured dishes using local ingredients and the quality really is top-notch.
My first time although my wife has been a few times. Booked for pre-theatre and was impressed, good range of choices and also good range for Pauline who is a coeliac sufferer. Service very good and attentive, perhaps a tad too much but we put that down to being pre-theatre. Prefer that than worrying about missing the start of the show. Will no doubt return
Great food, and lovely decor. Service was pretty terrible though for a, what seemed to be, quiet night. Left without basics such as cutlery for ages, unattended throughout meal, and couldn’t get bill when service finished. Wasn’t great, sorry to say.
Great waitress Lovely food
Superb pre theatre menu!!
Food flavours were teriffic, compliments to the chef
Stunning food and service. Faultless quality in all courses. Honestly the nicest meal my wife and I have ever had. Thank you.
Enfin une cuisine savoureuse et raffinée servie par une professionnelle!
It was one of the best meals I have eaten in some time.
The food is fresh and contemporary with a twist that is refreshing and unusual, staff are very attentive and friendly, can’t wait to go back.
Only gave 3stars for drinks, the food was excellent and couldn’t fault it or the service, but £3.50 for a splash of soda in my wine was in my opinion £3 to much
I have already, confidently, recommended Howard Street to a hard to please, foodie friend. This place has never let me down. Excellent food, presented perfectly and obviously freshly cooked. Genuine, friendly, professional, bubbly staff who did Northern Ireland hospitality proud as the restaurant seemed to have mainly International customers. Keep doing what you are doing......you have got it soooooo right. Will definitely be back.
Food was excellent, service 1st class. We’ll be back!
We visit Howard Street regularly as its our favourite restaurant in Belfast. Our waitress we extremely rude and everything seemed to be a rush. We had only sat down and she wanted to take our drinks order. Asked for extra time to decide but within minutes she was over asking again. Got our order wrong and accused me of shouting when I tried to explain it was wrong. We did not appreciate her attitude. Put a dampener on the meal as felt very conscious in the restaurant after
Standing ovation for this excellent restaurant. Under pressure from my children to return within the next couple of days. Thank you.
Another fantastic visit to Howard Street. The table in the alcove was a real treat....thank you!!
I hadn't even heard of this place when my son gave us a voucher last Christmas, which we contrived to allow to expire. Thanks to the management for honouring it anyway. Have now promised my son to take him next time he's home as we enjoyed it so much. All our courses were excellent, and good value too. Carafe of wine may have been a little pricey at £20, but they've got to make money somewhere.
Excellent night we were very well catered for and everyone left happy. The lighting at our table was a bit dim but otherwise no issues
Was a gift from our daughter and had a really enjoyable evening, will definitely go back.
A wider selection of moderately priced (aroumd £20/£25) white wines would be greatly appreciated.
We were given a gift voucher and really enjoyed our evening. We will definitely be back.
Had a beautiful meal and great service. Disappointed in wine selections as there was one one Australian wine to choose from and it was over £50 a bottle
Excellent evening, food was lively, the staff were very attentive. Certainly recommend Howard Street & be back soon
Quality food beautifully presented in a relaxing environment. We loins it our perfect place to dine before a night at the theatre.
Very attentive staff who always had a smile on their face. Food was delicious and excellent value for money- can not recommend the chowder enough! Will deffo be back.
