About Howard Street
Opened in 2013 by award winning chef Marty Murphy, Howard Street is steadily gaining a reputation for high quality produce, with south eastern undertones that result in dishes people come back for time and time again. In a lofty, industrial-esque setting customers can enjoy the food along with some of our carefully selected wines or one of Sean’s show stopping cocktails from his ‘rejuvenated’ list containing our signature cocktails along with classics with a twist.
With its striking exterior and exposed brick interior, Howard Street is a treat for the eyes as well as the taste buds. With a tempting (and reasonably priced) pre-theatre menu, as well as lunch and a la carte, there is something to suit all budgets. The kitchen focuses on full-flavoured dishes using local ingredients and the quality really is top-notch.
Service was excellent. Unfortunately we were seated extremely close to a very merry party of six or eight making it difficult to converse with my husband. However the food was lovely.
Food was fantastic, staff were so friendly and helpful. We had a party of 17 and all our food was perfect! Highly recommend Howard Street to any one!
Service quite slow, ordered two drinks which never came. Food just ok, banoffee not that nice, soup was bland, we requested gluten free gravy which we did not get and when we asked they said they didn't do it. If we had been informed early then a change could have been made to the person's meal choice.
Can be a noisy when large tables are occupied . Fish dishes are good.
Great food and great service, will be back again soon.
Great place. Sometimes just a little noisy for conversation. Must try and get an alcove . Overall had a really good meal and enjoyed the evening.
Brilliant food and fantastic and friendly service. A great night
Thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Staff were friendly and efficient. Ham hock terrine as my starter was delicious, with contrasting tastes and textures from the vegetables. Main course of haddock and fondant potato was well constructed and seasoned. My companion's starter of goat's cheese and cabbage cannelloni was equally delicious as was her main of ribeye steak, medium as requested. A super meal and service which we could not fault - the bill was also a fair reflection of the quality of the meal. Would we go back - certainly would!
The staff / service was superb. Food very good also although the people who had the turkey thought it was very dry and the choice not as good as other nights . Unfortunately we were placed between two large tables which meant it was very difficult to have a conversation as the noise level was just too high .
Beautiful food and brilliant service - we had a lovely experience and we will definitely be back.
Really enjoyed our first experience at this restaurant. All food and service was of a very high standard. We are already looking forward to visiting again.
First visit to Howard Street and will definitely be back. Very easy to book and staff helped to facilitate our large group at a busy time. Staff were friendly and engaging; menu extensive; food and service very good.
Love the Howard Restaurant atmosphere is great and staff very friendly I always recommend it to my friends great food and wine
Great buzz to the place if somewhat cramped. Felt tables were too close for comfort.
Lovely meal and good selection from the pre-theatre menu.
We always book Howard St when visiting relatives in N.Ireland. The food is always superb and the chilli beef a favourite. However, the service was really poor on our last visit. We had a number of servers and no one person really looked after us. The atmosphere was also lacking with no music. The food was great as always. There was also no thank you from any server or the manageress as we made our way out which was a shame. We will try somewhere else as a result on our next visit to Belfast as there is so much choice.
Delighted with the whole experience right from email booking to our welcome and nothing being too much trouble. The menu had good range of choices and the food was fantastic. We particularly loved the creme brûlée’s - did send compliments to the chef. Thank you for a great night.
Amazing service, atmosphere and food as always!
The best battered fish I’ve ever had.
My wife and I simply love Howard Street. Delicious food, imaginatively presented. Considerate, courteous and helpful staff. My 4 rather than 5 for atmosphere is only because we prefer dining earlier in the evening and so come for pre theatre when the restaurant tends to be relatively quiet - which we also enjoy! As always, thank you HS for a perfect evening
Gorgeous food, lively atmosphere friendly and attentive staff.
My favourite restaurant in Belfast and try to visit it whenever we we are visiting. Beautiful food and very attentive staff.
An excellent meal in what is, without doubt, one of my favourite restaurants. Thank you.
