Unfortunately covid-19 was in control, but great service in booking and cancelling
We had an amazing meal! We were apprehensive as I have dined at Nomad several times in the last 6 weeks and my firm favourite was the mussels with a side dish of noodles! However, both of these dishes have been left off of the new menu! I had the swordfish and my partner had the bao fried chicken buns, we had a side of garlic, coconut cream potatoes and also the Asian vegetable rice noodle stir fry. It was all absolutely delicious!
We had a lovely evening. The portions seemed to be bigger this time (Not complaining). The staff are great, fun and attentive without overdoing it. Looking forward to our next visit.
Really enjoyed the surprise element to the shut up and feed me concept.
Didn’t really enjoy menu and bad service !! We all felt rather sick as cocktails curdled with food . Neither were worth the money . Really disappointed ! Not good for your birthday !!
Not great, I wouldn’t come back. Staff were lovely, interior beautiful, and as a near-vegan vegetarian I thought the menu choice was fantastic and generally the food was flavourful and good. My cocktail was horrible and mocktails are overpriced. The menu is hard to make sense of. We made it perfectly clear that one of our party had various food allergies and therefore couldn’t share other people’s dishes. She was left with nothing to eat over half an hour after other food came out, which was uncomfortable, and in spite of us indicating that she couldn’t eat anything until her dishes arrived. I waited for her to be able to eat, by which time my food was cold. One of the dishes I ordered was titled street corn, and admittedly maybe I should have guessed from its name, but let me advise nomad: no one dressed to go out for dinner wants to plunge their hands into (very tasty) avocado pulp to wrestle with a corn on the cob. Lastly, you could die of thirst there. Some nice points and I would not dispute that the tastes are great, but as an experience it was underwhelming.
I brought my girlfriend for her birthday and we both loved it! I can't recommend the food enough and I will definitely be coming back.
Loved it, amazing food and great atmosphere. Will be back
Great service by everyone that came to our table, everyone was welcoming and friendly. Food was incredible, some of our party were worried that it wouldn't be enough, but we actually couldn't finish it all. It's the second time I have been and the first time for my friends, everyone will be back again.
Absolutely fabulous food and staff.. Only observation is the scent burners take away from the smell of the delicious food! I eat with my eyes nose and mouth, and the smell is as important. Felt it was fighting with the aromatic oils... Will be back though..
Good quality tasty food, friendly staff, relaxing atmosphere. Good Vegan options on main menu and side dishes ,would of been nice to have more vegan options on the dessert menu.
Based on the way the restaurant was advertised on its website, we were expecting a taster menu & appropriate service (I.e. where the server provides some explanation of the dishes) rather than just a selection of the dishes that were on the menu, which were presented by just giving the name of the dish. Apart from the pork bun, none of the other food served was appetising, so left us feeling disappointed. The offer of a reduction from our bill was appreciated, but also appropriate.
Slightly disappointing evening, we arrived 10 minutes late and our table had been given away and we were told the restaurant was full! As we were leaving the building owner stepped in and managed to sort a table (sharing with another couple). We were asked if there were any foods we didn't want/ couldn't eat, we said only mushrooms. Two out of five courses had mushrooms so one guest had to eat chicken 3 times! Were not given any information about the cocktail offer and instead got stung for cocktails at £8 a time. Also when we did order cocktails they mixed them up so we had the wrong drinks. Ramen was like warm, jerk chicken was bland and not like any I had tasted before. All in all a disappointing evening that came with a hefty price tag.
We were a Party of 8 and were sat on benches near a wooden french door that was sellotaped up to stop draughts. We were very uncomfortable after sitting on these benches for a couple of hours and this meant we left in a hurry. We definitely suggest this is improved and replaced with chairs as we had recommended Nomad to our friends as we had visited before and really enjoyed it as a couple. We had been outdoors all afternoon on the Isle of Wight detective day and needed to warm up. We were frozen by the doors so were really disappointed as we spent over £300 on our celebration meal as we had won the day as best dressed team.
Whilst the atmosphere and surroundings were brilliant. We weren’t so impressed with the variety of food. The flavour and presentation was good - but -We felt there were too many carbs. Especially the last two dishes - chicken with sweet potato cakes, and a dish of roast potatoes. There were no veg/salad. We felt that the balance of food types was unbalanced- the carbs were far too high. We left feeling totally bloated (even though we’d left nearly all the potatoes!) we had high hopes, but sadly these were deflated! Unlike our stomachs!
Our first time here and i definitely will come again, had the shutupandfeedme selection and the range of meals was amazing. Great staff and great service and great vibe
Delicious & different.
Wonderful evening, great service, delicious food and fantastic cocktails! Will certainly be back for more!!
We had a great lunch at Nomad. 3 dishes all very tasty and satisfying. Good service and lovely relaxing surroundings.
Delightful, warm and interesting restaurant and bar area. The service was not only excellent and efficient but was also attentive and personal. We tried the "Shut up & Feed Me" menu which, after defining what we didn't want, resulted in a sequence of five dishes being brought to our table … they were all delicious and cooked to perfection.
Amazing food, everything was so delicious and the place has a really nice atmosphere.
Lovely experience friendly staff amazing food good quality for money x
First time at this restaurant and enjoyed it. Service was polite and helpful but not too intrusive. Not very busy but relaxed atmosphere with nice background music. We had the 5 dish meal for £25 per person. Good value although we were served 2 chicken dishes. Very tasty and filling. Satay chicken & Bao buns were delicious. We had a bottle of Champagne for a relatively cheap £35. Enjoyable evening, nice food & good value. We will return and hopefully try a live band music evening. Highly recommended.
Lovely food and great tasting cocktails. Music was a bit to loud. Staff was a little disorganised. But had a good night. Would go back but won’t be in a rush.
