About Housel Bay Hotel
We at Housel Bay are lucky enough to be located in the most southernly tip of Cornwall, where it’s rich with fresh Cornish produce right on our door step.

Our signature restaurant, ‘Fallowfields’, is open Wednesday through to Sunday. Our Head Chef, Joseph Fallowfield, is guided by the seasons, and creates delicate and beautifully balanced dishes that are sure to leave you wanting more. Great Hotel with lovely staff. Special mention to Bernie, Sonia, Ethan, Pete, Ben and Magda! Thank you!!
Absolutely fantastic stay. Room was beautiful, food amazing and staff went above and beyond. Highly recommended!
Excellent meal in Fallowfields restaurant and great sea view from our room
Food was delicious
Unfortunately because we were the only ones there, the atmosphere was a bit flat but not really your fault.
Excellent food and value for money
For lunch on 8th December, I had ham hock, followed by rice pudding, accompanied by an excellent glass of shiraz - best meal out for a long time. On Monday 14th, I ordered ham hock for dinner to be told that it wasn''t available and would I accept a beef version. I said if I was going to eat beef, I would try the beef rib. This was a mistake - what should have been melt in the mouth beef was tough and I did not enjoy it and took half the meat home for my dog!
We had the set Christmas lunch which was wonderful. Beautiful presentation with taste to match! Fantastic location with really well kept gardens and views to die for. We will definitely visit again in the New Year and will try the fine dining taster menu next.
Great menu choices and AMAZING food.
Excellent food, absolutely delicious. Would highly recommend the monkfish scampi... Berni and his team provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere, so treat yourself...
Beautiful views, a quiet and relaxing retreat
Excellent location, especially during the day, with sea views. A warm welcome from very professional staff. As a vegan, there was a small choice, but the available dishes were beautifully presented, well thought through and absolutely delicious. Amazing mulled wine! Thank you.
Had a fabulous two night stay. Excellent service, food was great and the staff very friendly and accommodating. Will definitely be returning to Housel Bay. Thank you
Staff couldn’t do enough to make our stay a pleasurable one
Fantastic location Fantastic service Awesome food We will be back
Thank you so much - super comfy room and gorgeous meal. We really enjoyed the chance to relax in such a fab setting and you all looked after us very well, going a long way to making life that little bit nicer in difficult times. My 'Marconi's Mistress' was delicious!
Think you have got it Spot on as far as covid is concerned and found staff very helpful and friendly . Bedroom was abit small but views more than made up for that
We stayed over 3 nights and could not at any point fault the quality of the food. The chefs are obviously a talented bunch. However on this occasion which was Sunday evening before we left I was left with a feeling that portions are sometimes inconsistent. My husband and I both chose a dish costing £14 -his was Catch of the Day and mine the KFC Cauliflower. When they arrived his plate was piled high with golden battered fish, triple cooked chips and a reasonable portion of peas. Mine, on the other hand, while I know it was going to be a salad, I felt a bit on the mean side, a bowl of leaves around 2 tablespoons of (very delicious) celeriac remoulade and 4 florets of cauliflower. Yes 4! And not large ones, just normal ones like you'd have with a roast dinner. As that was the main part of my dinner I was a little underwhelmed. When ordering my husband suggested I ordered a side of chips and I said no, after all its a £14 main course, but actually I was still hungry and finished my meal way before him, something unheard of usually. I had been looking forward to trying that interesting dish but no way would I recommend it unless it was just a starter or with a substantial side dish!
Stunning location. Friendly and attentive staff. We dined at Fallowfields last night and had the tasting menu with paired wines; just excellent! There aren’t many places we return to as there are so many places to see and visit but this is one venue we shall return to and have no hesitation in recommending to others.
Fallowfields this time for us - outstanding menu/food, friendly staff - in fact everything as impressive as always. As local regular diners we can also recommend The Terrace. Looking forward to coming again already! Well done Housel Bay.
The food was great. The atmosphere lacking, but I blame Covid. Masks, no tablecloths etc We’ll be back.
Great hotel, lovely room the only thing that let it down was the bathroom. It was tired, the decor was poorly finished, no lock on the door and poor water pressure. The staff were very helpful and hospital and the food was amazing. Really well thought out menus.
View stunning. Greeting unfriendly, bar service inattentive, food - scampi overcooked, seafood flat bread complete with pieces of crab shell and whole cartilage from claw. On raising issues with waitress no apology or offer of amendment. Toilet decor shoddy, limited parking.
Good food. Good view. I visited the restuarant for breackfast twice now. But have to admit that each time I visited, some of the staff who served us weren't that great at servicing. They didn't smile much and I found that they placed the plates and stuffs on the table quite loudly and just went off. And yes, that's on both days, which left me with the feeling of 'they aren't happy to serve us'. I would go back for the food and the view, but the staff would be the big part that put me off. Regards.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with you, albeit cut short. A beautiful hotel in a gorgeous location. We look forward to returning sometime next year. Stay safe Tony & Doreen
