We came for my mums birthday we had some treatments on the spa and then had a reservation for food. Our treatments finished early and we asked if we could bring our reservation forwards, I would have understood if you couldn’t but you obliged which was lovely. The staff were very attentive and the food was lovely. You asked if we were there for an occasion and confirmed it was for my mums birthday when you asked me to confirm my booking. I did wonder whether you were going to provide her a complimentary drink or Something but she didn’t receive anything. It wouldn’t stop me visiting again and didn’t ruin the visit but it left me wondering why you bothered to ask if it’s for an occasion. A lovely visit nevertheless with great service.
Great stay and food
Lovely location overlooking the sea Very helpful staff
Really excellent place. Lovely food and waiting staff.
Hi we waited a while to be served. We asks fro have coffee outside as it was such a sunny day and then did so. The seat pads were soaking wet - which obviously wasn't visible. The water seeped through on bCk seta pad and so my elderly mothers back and clothing was soaking wet. I'd suggest if you want to sit outside that HH check the seats are dry for guests to sit on.
Hi it was my fathers birthday. The food was very slow coming out of the kitchen. There were little things that could of been better. We had to ask 3 times for some bread. My wife didn’t have a knife to eat her main course with. My beef was actually like warm but after waiting so long I couldn’t be bothered to say anything as I was hungry and just wanted to eat and leave.
Food was fine. 2 big parties and we were seated right on top of one, too close. Service was poor. We were early and told to sit in other room and we'd be able to get a drink - this didn't happen. Most staff pleasant but one particularly miserable who only smiled when some friends arrived. We felt we had to leave when clearing up and moving of furniture (very noisily by chairs being dragged along floor). I wouldn't return if it was free tbh!
The service that we received from all the staff when we came for an afternoon tea was excellent. The whole experience was amazing .Thank you all at Holm House
We enjoyed the lunch and the food was good, however, the service was extremely slow. Not good for a work's lunch time meal, as it was over two hours - just for two courses - no coffee included in that.
Would I stay with you again? Certainly.
The evening and meal was enjoyed by all of my guests, each of them commented on how much they liked the food. Unfortunately, I was unwell but still enjoyed the steak that I could manage to eat. My wife and myself will book a table sometime in the near future when I feel fitter. Thanks to all.
Great service and excellent food, we weren't rushed and spent a lovely afternoon in the gardens after our Sunday lunch. Very reasonably priced for great quality food.
'Very good service , delightful staff, the linguine I had was delicious. My husband enjoyed the fish but the chips were not to his taste..
We had a lovely family gathering at Holm House, it was a sunny day with the patio doors open. We had coffee after Sunday lunch under a tree in dappled shade. However, the pork was tough and the crackling wasn’t crispy. The desserts were poor. My mother paid the bill which really was expensive. We did mention to two waiters about the food afore mentioned.
Fab food and service - love the garden, so relaxing
I would not visit again, incredibly noisy, no atmosphere at all. We were seated in a corner, it was so loud we were unable to hold a conversation, not a cosy family afternoon tea we were hoping for. We were offered water, glasses were brought to the table, no water arrived. We not feel very welcome. The food was OK, certainly not worth £18.50 for a few finger sandwiches, 3 mini cakes & a small scone. Will not recommend
If I’m honest this is the worst afternoon tea I’ve had. Sandwiches/bread were stale and hard. Selection of sweets not good and the scone was hard! Really disappointed at the venue is gorgeous
Staff were so lovely and the whole stay was perfect. The room was stunning and the food was lovely. We really enjoyed our stay and a massive Thankyou to everyone for making it so special for my boyfriends birthday.
Disappointed with the level of service 1. We had ordered a table of three adults plus a highchair setting. Table only set for three adults on arrival. Felt like child wasn't welcome. Waiter quickly set additional place and brought highchair. No apology 2. Had stated on booking was a birthday celebration. No mention by waiter who hardly spoke to us. 3. Having asked for the bill at the end of our time it seemed we had been ignored as it didn't materialise. Eventually asked the manager who I then paid at the till. Very unfriendly and poor service experience. Food was very nice.
Food well presented and nice tasting Staff very attentive and quick but edge of table was nudged 5 times by passing staff Table top itself was wobbly although the base was solid Wife was ill at home, only thing she had different to me was scallops ,when she phoned next day was told nobody else complained and that someone would phone her back Of course they never did
A beautiful venue and staff always very polite. I personally feel the food is never up to the standard, and does not quite reach the league if should. Therefore reasonable prices seem more expensive due to the underwhelming food. I also think that you would receive more tips if you took the optional service charge, I really feel that can rub people up the wrong way. Still an enjoyable afternoon though.
Had afternoon tea for a graduation celebration and was quite disappointed. Booked for 3pm and upon arrival we were asked to wait in the lounge as our table wasn't quite ready. After waiting 30 minutes, I then had to ask if the table was ready, which it was. Whilst there was not anything wrong with the food itself, as a party, we felt the afternoon tea was very over priced for the quality and quantity. Initially we were only given enough for 5 people, although there were 7 of us. I would not return here for a dining experience in the future.
Lovely afternoon tea and very helpful staff.
Waiting 45 minutes for our tea and cakes was really bad. Many people who sat after us had their tea and cakes. It looked like the service staff were leaderless and a bit chaotic.
A beautiful tea party for 8 retired , trained in Llandough Hospital 1961 ~ 1964 A delightful venue, lovely to sit outside in the garden and have a relaxing chat. Thank you.
