About Hoar Cross Hall - The Long Gallery Bar
Relax in the elegant surroundings of our long gallery. Oak panelled walls, comfy couches and a bar make this the perfect venue to enjoy afternoon tea, pre-dinner drinks, cocktails or a nightcap.
We are sorry but this restaurant is not currently accepting online reservations through ResDiary.
On arrival we were Greeted by quite an unfriendly looking young lady on reception, she did crack a smile towards the end of our conversation though! I found quite a lot of the staff on reception a little cold, I really do think at least a smile and to appear to be more welcoming to guest would be a good start to everyone’s stay. Ollie on the bar was delightful, lovely young chap who clearly is very passionate about his job, we really enjoyed his company. Catering staff were great too and were very helpful. The spa was very clean and staff helpful, despite the works been carried out it didn’t distrubt our stay at all, these things have to be carried out and it’s been carried out sympatheticly and very well. We really enjoyed our treatments and the therapist we had were very professional and we thoroughly enjoyed our treatments, we both felt so relaxed after. Our room , luxury room, room 434, wow what can I say! Stunning room, beautiful views! Yes the room is a little dated and tired looking but i know the hotel is currently working on renovating all rooms so in time this will all be refreshed. The four poster bed was nice but the mattress was not great, sinks in the middle and we both ended up rolling into the middle, I’m Sure this will be changed once this room is renovated. The bathroom is a little dated and has a whirl pool bath, two people can share this bath but the taps at one end make it very uncomfortable for that person whose back is against the taps! maybe when the bathroom gets a refurbished have central taps located on the bath or wall valve taps so these luxury bathroom can be enjoyed in comfort . On the whole, we really enjoyed our stay, felt totally relaxed and wished we had stayed for two nights. I would definetly recommend hoar cross hall to friends and we would love to come and revisit the hotel in the future, looking forward to revisiting when all the rooms and works have been done. Thank you for a lovely stay.
A lovely visit to Hoar cross for afternoon tea for a special occassion.Food and service were very good, set in beautiful surroundings
The checking out takes way to long. You know the time day spa people need to leave by so you should have staff ready for those times. Other than that excellence experience
Had to find some to serve us twice at the bar and it’s such a beautiful place I can’t believe the dust and bits under all the sofas need to remind your cleaners it’s on show when your at sitting level. Overall experience wonderful in the spa area and staff friendly and helpful definitely would return
The food was ok samwiches didnt make u go wow. The dinning room was very shabby. Also the people that had left the tables were left un cleaned which didnt look very good.
Most enjoyable experience
Afternoon tea part of spa day package. Cakes very fresh , scones delicious and sandwiches good. Service good although took us a while to find correct restaurant as spa reception staff had not explained where to go, and no one at the bar when we arrived.
The afternoon tea was delicious, i couldn't fault it at all. The portions were generous and the room was beautiful. A lovely place to spend my birthday. Thank you.
The Long Gallery is a lovely area, the decoration is fabulous. Afternoon tea was delicious although we were not visited by the waiter once it was served to check if everything was good or if we would like a fresh pot of tea. However, the whole experience was ruined by staff emptying an understairs cupboard of dining chairs, large sofa and eventually smashing something - this went on for 50 minutes before we retreated back to the sanctuary of our spa day. The whole experience was finished off with Henry the vacuum cleaner being dragged through the gallery and put to good use to give a thorough clean. So not the elegant, relaxing experience for my daughters 21st Birthday that we were hoping for - not sure what the staff were thinking.
Slow service, drafty and cold, workmen walking through constantly with tools etc
Fantastic place, food, service and bar. Pianist playing all night was fantastic touch ....
No sugar free 7 up but it is sold in Hugos, no bottled Coke Zero only on gun.
We had a lovely time just needed to be more attentive with the drinks i had to go and ask for our tea
Enjoyed the pleasant peacefull experience of the long gallery bar and the exceptional service and afternoon tea.
Delicious afternoon tea and very relaxing
A great afternoon tea for my parents wedding anniversary! The staff were fantastic & the food was great! Highly recommend it!
First time for my hubby at hoar cross .. he was very impressed!! Lovely relaxing couple of days, Great company, fab food, & attentive staff, will definitely be booking again!
Having been twice before I had come to expect a certain standard but the service and where we were put was very very poor. I had asked for a window seat in the long gallery. we were put with 2 others in a large empty dining room. food was lovely however I had to ask for the menu to see what we had it was not explained. our waiter seemed to struggle with any communication. he gave the menu then whipped it away without asking what we wanted to drink. i had coffee hubby had tea with a Teabag! no one checked back at all so when i popped to the loo i asked for more drinks asking for a different tea stressing no teabag. the guy at the desk who seemed to be in charge explained that the previous tea always came in a teabag? menu says different. We were not even seated by the lovely tree we only saw it when leaving the room as it was set back and only got to hear the christmas music when leaving to pay it was onky on in the long gallery!. There were plenty of spare seats free in the gallery. I felt like it could have been any time of year with no ambience. I did not make a fuss as it was a treat for my hubby which if Id gone off to complain would have spoilt the day. i truly hope you do read these reviews as our experience could have been so much better.
Lovely couple of hours in nice surroundings
Delicious Royal Afternoon Tea at Hoar Cross Hall, highly recommend.
Maybe a small salad bowl or a few crisps to compliment the amazing food
Very relaxed afternoon tea . Food was fab and service was great . Thank you
Had the classic afternoon tea good value for money and lovely grounds to walk around afterwards
Me and my partner came 6 months ago and we received really poor service. Fortunately we were offered complementary afternoon tea which I attended yesterday. The service was top notch and the lady who served us this time (pregnant lady) was absolutely lovely and couldn’t do enough. I always believe in second chances and redeeming yourself and I can say you’ve definitely done that. We will be back for sure. Thank you for letting us experience the day properly.
Basic afternoon tea with not much variety. Service was almost non existence and very poor. Staff had little personality and didn't look too pleased to have to replenish our tea and coffee. Were never asked if we needed any more sandwiches (or anything for that matter). Scones were very fresh and delicious though.
