About Hoar Cross Hall - The Long Gallery Bar
Relax in the elegant surroundings of our long gallery. Oak panelled walls, comfy couches and a bar make this the perfect venue to enjoy afternoon tea, pre-dinner drinks, cocktails or a nightcap.
Lovely setting, on a sunny day it would be nice to have the option of having afternoon tea on the terrace rather than indoors
Food was delicious as expected and the teas available were also lovely. We would definitely come again.
Honestly, I very very rarely write a review regardless of whether something is good or bad. However I feel strongly about this so here goes.... We are newly weds! Married 2 days prior. On booking the room and 2 further phone calls I informed the staff of this. They informed me that they would do something special. Entered the room, which was beautiful, to find absolutely nothing. Not one flower or complimentary bottle of fizz. Nothing. Informed reception that I was disappointed with this. Later put a bottle of wine in the room, no special effort made. Evening, we went for tea, not ala carte, but we went to the cute henrys bar, the decor was lovely. We asked a lady if we were in the right place, she took time to respond as though she didnt know either. We are still here as im writing this review, lying in bed after what should have been a romantic breakfast brought to our room. The food is on the table (which is missing a foot) not eaten. On the menu last night I doodled 'newly weds', it made no difference at all. Also im a vegetarian, no alternative foods given to me. 3 hash browns dumped on top of each other. Grey scrambled egg. Toast which was like rubber and not sliced Everything was either luke warm or cold. No sauces. I really am gutted, its expensive here and I would have expected more. Staff are not overly friendly, theyre just doing their job. We have the spa this afternoon. That looks beautiful and I'm hoping its going to be lovely. From an unhappy newly wed. I will not be returning. I guess im more upset than anything, I was hoping for a personal touch, but certainly didnt get it.
Delightful building and spotlessly clean. All of the staff we met were most helpful, efficient and yet still managed to be friendly and welcoming. Our Royal prosecco tea was a present to us which we used to celebrate our 45 th wedding anniversary.
I had emailed before hand to ask for one afternoon tea to be without mayo, cucumber and mustard. This didn’t happen and we were given all of the above. Whilst the room was beautiful the tables were difficult to eat from, especially sharing from the same afternoon tea plates.
We had an amazing experience yesterday, the afternoon tea was divine and brilliant value for money. Staff very friendly & helpful too.... it was my 1st visit to Hoar Cross Hall and I will deffinatly be returning.
Booked for a large party for Afternoon tea. We were placed in a lovely separate room without even requesting it. Made it even more special. Food was fantastic. They were great with special dietary requirements. Plentiful amounts of tea included. Great price. Service was great, checked on frequently but also left to enjoy ourselves. Definitely recommend the afternoon tea and we will no doubt be returning.
Lovely food, excellent service. Will definitely return.
My Mum and friend had a lovely afternoon tea and really appreciated being able to have a look in the library at the parterre gardens without freezing and the gorgeous little chapel. Thanks for making their visit so enjoyable. Abigail
Me and my mother for a late mother’s day present arrived here at 12:30 sat down and we left at around 3:15pm. However when purchasing the champagne afternoon tea, I was aware that buying a champagne afternoon tea, there would be a bottle, however we just received a glass. So for 82 pounds I thought it was over priced for what we recieved however a very nice afternoon.
Lovely afternoon tea. Thoroughly enjoyed the entire time at Hoarcriss Hall.
We enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea on Mothers day at Hoar Cross Hall. Received a lovely welcome at the door and we thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon. Thank you!
Was really lovely atmosphere in the gallery, comfy chairs and a relaxed atmosphere. The two gentleman waiters were extremely lovely asking how the food was and if we needed anything else. However some of the waitress’ were not as helpful and did keep looking at us as if they wanted us to hurry up and leave which was slightly intimidating. However, it was a lovely day and the tea and food was nice.
We enjoyed our Prosecco afternoon tea very much. Service was first class
The customer service was superb in the spa and the hotel but I was a little disappointed with the vegan afternoon tea. The bread tasted a little stale and the options for vegan filling was a little bland. The cakes were all exactly the same aside from a different topping on each. A variety would have been lovely. The scones were delicious. I have had a vegan afternoon tea at the belfry which had much more variety. In the spa cafe, they had a delicious vegan chocolate cake which could have been adapted for afternoon tea. Thank you.
First time returning in a long time, the changes at hoar cross are fantastic and the place is totally transformed in terms of quality and customer service
Wonderful place. Very comfortable and nice surroundings.
I would like to say that chef went above and beyond in the food as me and my husband are both vegan and he did us an amazing afternoon tea. Hands up to the chief
Lovely afternoon tea - great choice
Good service. Nice room. Happy! Thanks!
Lovely time had by all, only improvement I feel would for the seating / tables to be more formal (as when we previously attended) rather than sofa and low table.
The festive afternoon tea was a real treat. Well worth £20
Very disappointed. Have visited a number of times for spa days/stays and thoroughly enjoyed. This was an afternoon tea for my mother in law’s birthday and the service was just terrible. We had to wait so long for everything & it wasn’t even busy- at the time we were seated there were no other customers. Yet our food and drinks took so long to come out. We had a 1yr old with us and asked if a couple of extra cheese finger sandwiches could come out with the afternoon tea...this proved an impossible task as the staff said they can’t do that- we would have to pay another £20 for an afternoon tea for a 1yr old. I asked a second and 3rd time and the response I got was quite rude as the girl behind the bar said ‘yea but I can’t put it through the till as anything so you’ll have to order another afternoon tea’. We’ve never had such bad service - especially for a simple request for an extra cheese finger sandwich for a baby. A man who we paid with at the end apologised, but as a group- we spent £120 for an afternoon tea and it was just terrible service. When asked by friends and family about it last night, I had to tell them that I would not recommend to anyone which is a shame as we usually enjoy our time at hoar cross. Service is everything...and it just was not up to standard at all.
A lovely relaxing experience. Every aspect was first class. Grounds very seasonable with Christmas lighting. Thoroughly enjoyed it all.
The food was lovely, but we didn't get an explanation of how it would be served i.e. if we would get a choice about the sandwiches. I asked about this because a few of the people in our party didn't like salmon. After I'd asked, the girl serving us turned away and rolled her eyes at the male member of staff also there, which I didn't appreciate. I hadn't been rude, I simply asked a question. The male member of staff was excellent though and very polite.
