CENTRED ON AN OPEN FIRE, THE COOKING AT HEARTH IS SIMPLE AND HEARTFELT, USING CLASSIC COOKING METHODS AND FOCUSING ON THE VERY BEST PRODUCE AVAILABLE ON THE DAY.
Had the best time!
Wonderful setting and food.
Wonderful location for a very different and relaxed dining experience. Posh tapas is the best way to describe the Hearth restaurant. The ingredients and flavours are excellent. Portions are not large, but the time you have 4 or 5 to share, still enough space for a delicious dessert. The staff are all very welcoming.
Excellent in all aspects.
Outstanding food, beautiful restaurant. We had the perfect lunch with family.
Simply delicious food in a tranquil setting.
5 xxxxx all the way! The staff were superb and we will deff be back soon! Highly recommended!
Excellent food in a relaxed atmosphere. Superb service. Whilst I appreciate you only use produce picked on the day, preventing you providing a menu prior to arrival. I would recommend, you do provide an alternative menu choice, just in case. Also suggest the deposit taken from the person simply booking the table, to reserve the table. Should just be a deposit and refunded and not be used as part of the funds to pay the bill.
Terrific experience !
We had a wonderful lunch at Hearth, great food and atmosphere with really helpful and attentive staff.
Lovely venue, ambience and food however would be cautious of returning for 2 reasons 1 - super expensive for what it was 2 - staff are lovely but need to relax into it a bit more
Staff in the hearth were fantastic
Delicious food. Everything was very tasty. Wonderful staff in the hotel reception who looked after my puppy while I had lunch. Would definitely go back. Amazing gardens too.
Tapas on steroids...warm reception......super food....best way to make a 4 hour lunch seem like.....a dream...
Lovely atmosphere, great food, friendly and knowledgeable staff. We really enjoyed the small details, a lot of thought has gone into creating a unique experience.
We had a fabulous lunch at Hearth. We took my son, who eats at many of the best restaurants in London. He loved it as much as us - so giving my husband and I a moment of private 'high-fiving'. You are always welcomed warmly at Heckfield Place and the service is consistently friendly and cheerful in all their restaurants. The food at Hearth is very impressive and the atmosphere fabulous. We will be a regular there!
Very attractive ambience. Wonderful service. Exciting menu. Excellent wine choices. No time pressure. All 4 of us would very happily return
Wonderful staff who manages the perfect balance of friendliness, competence and leaving us to enjoy our meal. Food was excellent although portion size was in the small side given the price. The Hearth menu is not v intuitive. Difficult to work out how much to order of what. Might help if clearer on larger and smaller plates in how it’s presented etc. The biggest area for improvement is that we sat in the reception area for pre-dinner drinks. A lovely space but expected more of a bar area with others (staff and guests) around us. Consequence was we felt a bit isolated and it took a long time to get a drink as these were prepared elsewhere. Lighting from car park to house is poor. Subtlety is fine but we were often unable to see in front of our feet. Would come back though! Love the hotel, decor, staff and service.
Wonderful place, lovely, genuine staff and food which takes your breath away.
Our first time at Heckfield Place, but definitely not the last one! The staff were super polite and helpful, as we arrived, Charlie showed us around the whole place, including the stunning cinema. It was lovely to be shown around like that and Charlie spoke so passionately and enthusiastically about the history of the place and how it came to be. The restaurant looks just stunning and so cozy, especially at this time of the year. It was a bit quiet (we went for Sunday lunch), and the only thing we thought was missing, is just some ambient music in the background. The food was lovely, although we didn't understand fully how the menu works, you meant to order few different dishes and share them, where we went for one item each, thinking they're main courses. We will know for the next time! Overall, a wonderful experience in a stunning location. Can't wait to be back soon.
A delightful casual restaurant, part of the amazing Heckfield Place hotel. A very unusual menu of "tapas" style plates to share, with options of meat, fish and plenty of veggie dishes too. It was suggested that 4 or 5 plates would be sufficient for 2, and they were right. The dishes which we chose were quite rich, absolutely delicious, and packed with flavours, from the simplest ingredients. Some of the small dishes seemed quite expensive, however you cannot enjoy an amazing setting like Hearth for normal high street prices. The food was certainly not normal. It's all part of the experience, and one we will be happy to repeat and recommend.
Faultess, from the sublime food to the kind and attentive service to the setting. Can't wait to return.
Exceptional, non fussy and sublime ... from Fatima the hostess to each and every member of staff, chapeau for creating a delicious environment. Your chef works miracles with ingredients, some which I have never seen, fusing vegetables into art pieces. Lunch was in the Sun room and lingered into a very memorable day. Thank you !
Had a lovely lunch at the Sun House over the Autumn Equinox weekend. The ambience was lovely and I would definitely recommend.
