About Harringtons on the Hill
Select the finest and freshest ingredients, prepare them carefully and serve them simply and well. These are the skills learned by head chef Ryan New during his seven years at top London restaurants Langan‘s Brasserie and Langan’s Coq D'Or under the watchful eye of leading chef and restauranter Richard Shepherd.
Couple these exceptional culinary skills with the warm and friendly atmosphere of a small, almost rustic, restaurant and you have Harringtons on the Hill in Kenilworth.
There is nothing pretentious about this delightful restaurant. What you see is what you get - an uncomplicated high quality menu and a warm welcome.
The friendly and professional team can cater for any occasion. There is an upstairs for private dining. Whether it is for a morning or afternoon meeting, a birthday party or even that ultimate special day a, wedding celebration, Harringtons can do it all. A menu can be tailor-made to suit all guests needs and a perfect function can be organised whatever the specification.
Situated in a picturesque bow fronted cottage opposite Kenilworth Castle, the restaurant is the ideal place for a memorable dining experience.
Quite simply great food at excellent value.
Excellent as always
As new residents to Kenilworth, we were particularly excited to try out Harringon’s for an anniversary meal, booking our table well in advance. On arrival the waiter took a while to find our booking, but then took us to a compact table at the foot of the stairs and adjacent to a large party. Another member of staff took our jackets a little while later, and brought us the menus. Our table had bread and butter on it already, presumably for us to eat; I would have preferred if it had been brought out fresh. It took a while for the waitress to take our order, though I appreciate that they were busy seeing to customers who were there prior to us. The wine came quickly though, and it was lovely. We weren’t offered any water at any point, though. Our food was OK. My king prawn starter was flavoursome but I didn’t think it needed more bread in order to fill up the plate. We both ordered fillet steaks for our main course. There was a bit of confusion when they came out as the waitress got how each had been cooked wrong, but we soon figured it out. They weren’t the best cuts of fillet we’d ever had - they were a little fatty, and they were on the small side. Mine was a bit overdone, although the other one was cooked fine. They came with a mushroom, a tomato and a bucket of chips. We weren’t offered any sauce, or any vegetables, which would have been most welcome. The desserts were fine, and we were offered coffee, which we declined. All in all, the meal was nothing special - it wouldn’t have been out of place in a pub (albeit with restaurant prices). I don’t think we’ll be back again, which is disappointing- we had high hopes that this could be a regular restaurant for us to visit, but it’s just pub grub with restaurant prices, sadly.
Food was excellent but service was slow
Such a delight to visit this establishment... staff/service, food and drink always excellent. Thank you for looking after us so well as ever.
Our first visit to Harringtons. Very enjoyable. Will definitely make further bookings.
Amazing atmosphere, food and service!
Fantastic food and excellent service
We once visit once a year (this is the 4th year) to meet friends due to distance and are always pleased with everything. We wish you were closer to home so that we could visit more often.
Reliable restaurant choice. Prompt and friendly service and good food.
Amazing food and service
We recently returned to Harrington's for a visit after moving away from the area. We have always had the most wonderful time there, and the food service and atmosphere are always wonderful. The manager even remembered us, despite it being over a year since we'd last been. They have a wonderful gluten free menu, and even make sure to have gluten free bread ready on the table. Even though we no longer live locally, we never stop talking about Harrington's. It truly is a wonderful place.
This was our first visit and it won’t be our last, excellent well cooked meals. Our table for two was very cozy. The only thing I would say is I wouldn’t like to be seated by the door on busy periods as the space is quite restricted.
We had set 2 course lunch with glass of wine included = v good value. Starters were the best. Would like to have seen a bit more variety in mains eg 2 risottos. Maybe one pasta dish instead.
Nice food and good service.
We have been several times recently and always had friendly and prompt service, and very tasty, well-presented food that is excellent value for money.
Second visit in 2 months. Harrington’s is a lovely intimate restaurant in a beautiful part of Kenilworth near the castle. The menu isn’t extensive but even on it is gorgeous! The scallops as starters were wonderful! Lovely staff, very attentive, polite and efficient. Overall would recommend it to anyone.
We had a fabulous 3 course meal with a lot of friends. Service was excellent, staff very friendly, but most important - the food was first class ! Thanks !
Excellent 2 course lunch, service and friendliness of the staff will make us want to return.
Attentive staff and lovely food
Always a lovely meal at Harringtons.
A warm friendly welcome as always and great service. Food was top notch as always. Lovely intimate atmosphere at Harringtons. This combo of fantastic service, quality food and atmosphere makes for a winning evening!
One of the best restaurants I’ve been to this year, value for money was incredible. The service/made to feel valued by the staff. I can’t wait to go back another time!
Excellent night out, good food and atmosphere. It was our first visit but we will be back.
Excellent food with lovely attentive staff
Our visits to you are always a delight - and we come about every 5/6 weeks. We've seen many waiters and waitresses over the years who always are courteous and friendly. Food is generally superb, and if it falters it is always replaced with an apology, or the price is not counted in the bill. We love your Chilean Sauvignon, and it is easy to book for meals. We like the comfortable atmosphere and enjoy totally our long lunches. Thank you to everyone at Harringtons.
